October 27, 2024Oct 27 Man, I hope that Oregon gets to be the first real team that Miami plays this year in the College Football Playoffs!
October 27, 2024Oct 27 Moderator Lanning: Who cares. (When asked about being number one.) Mario: Hey everybody look at us being better than two dumpster fires!

October 27, 2024Oct 27 Moderator He knows he’s behind the 8-ball in Miami. If Florida gets a great coach then he will lose most of his in-state recruiting battles to them. There’s a huge difference between playing ACC games on alternate channels and playing on ABC/ESPN every week.

That's quite the statement from the Miami 6-2 head coach. And way to alienate about 70% of your state.
October 27, 2024Oct 27 Marito brags about a victory over (NO)0 over a team with ONE win? For some folks, that's a HUGE accomplishment! Wait... Has he scheduled games vs Cal or Oregon State, yet? Edited October 27, 2024Oct 27 by woundedknees
October 27, 2024Oct 27 He ought to hire Charlie Weiss as OC. That way they can also have a decided schematic advantage.

October 28, 2024Oct 28 Is it just me or has Mario become more obnoxious and rude over the last couple of years???? I never liked the guy but there is a difference between promoting your program and showing your humility as opposed to being an insufferable jerk.

October 28, 2024Oct 28 What a knuckle-dragging mouth-breather. Slamming his fist at the end was awkward and brutish. I think he caught lightning in a bottle (Cam Ward) like Orgeron and LSU with Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, and Jamar Chase. That said, I don’t remember Orgeron acting like a boorish oaf! It won’t be long before Mari Cristbal is back to scowling and snapping at reporters while throwing his players under the bus.
October 28, 2024Oct 28 I have a hard time not seeing it as a shot at Miami's fan base not particularly well disguised as a recruiting pitch. Recruits, especially Florida recruits, if they are considering a Florida school, know exactly what is going on at Florida, Florida State, and Miami. To me it sounds like, after two years of being pretty heavily criticized by a fair portion of Miami's fan base, Mario saying, "Look, get off my back, its taken a while, but now I've got things going" ... (and from the look on his face at the end of the video) "you should probably say sorry." I'll just add, its been a pretty fortunate season for Miami. Saved a VT and Cal, FSU being bad, Florida looking at a possible 5-6 win season, and once again, other than possibly Clemson, the ACC looking pretty bleh. Mario could stumble his way, at this point to over 10 wins. Edited October 28, 2024Oct 28 by AnotherOD

In those two seasons he seems to be a bit more open with the media and a bit less abrasive. He talked about injuries and seems kinda likable. Notice 2018 the program was on the ascent and in 2019 was a pretty good year for him. Then after that it went down hill real fast. Now he seems to be feeding off the Miami of old and infusing it into the program with the arrogance. Again... Let's see what happens when he plays a ranked team that will eventually happen even if it is the ACC championship or a playoff game.
October 28, 2024Oct 28 My $.02 assessment- Mario is very insecure. Remember Nick did strip him of his assistant head coach title at Alabama for a reason. Don't know specifically why and water under the bridge now but there was a reason.
October 28, 2024Oct 28 Moderator If Lane Kiffin goes to Florida and Coach Prime takes over FSU, Miami will instantly be in a very distant third in the state.

Could it be that he knows the 'Canes are 5-3 without divine intervention from the ACC Review Center in the sky?
October 28, 2024Oct 28 I normally always want a coach who was at Oregon to succeed, exception being Taggart for obvious reasons, but Mario is clearly on 'my list' now of 'I could care less how he does'. He is very full of himself right now and kudos to him for landing Cam Ward because had he not, he'd be lucky to be .500 right now IMO.
October 28, 2024Oct 28 Moderator MIAMI is Missouri in waiting. 0 ranked opponents played to date with Duke, at Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, and at Syracuse remaining. 😒 4 ACC teams have zero conference losses, Miami, Clemson, Pitt, and SMU. Miami misses all thre of the other unbeatens. A Refs-Assisted win at home against Va Tech and down 3 TDs+ at Cal (CAL!) Tyler Shough had better stats than Ward when Miami visited Louisville. And 'these guys' could be a Playoff No. 2 seed? A loss in the ACC Champ game and a 12-1 MIA should be PO MIA.

October 28, 2024Oct 28 We have to remember Mariø is part chicken. You can always count on him, at some point to...... Patience it will all work its way out.
October 28, 2024Oct 28 Sometimes 😉 I think Mario is totally incapable of seeing and understanding how he comes off.
