Can Indiana Football Really Beat Ohio State? | 2024 College Football Prediction - YouTube

“This is just a football game,” Cignetti told College GameDay’s Jessica Sims. “60 minutes between the white lines. We’ve got a veteran group, right? We earned the right to be here. There’s no magic wand. We’ve got the largest victory margin, in college football, right? There’s a narrative out there that’s created another chip for us.

“People can stick that narrative up their you know what.”

Gotta love Cignetti's attitude.

Sticks that narrative right up the old Buckeye.

I'm looking forward to watching this game. I may have predicted a Bucknut win in our contest, but I'm rooting for the Hoisiers to channel OBDs September 2021 performance in the 'Shoe'.

Des, McAfee & Corso picked Indiana.

GameDay’s crew went 3-3 tie tOSU/IU. Herbstreet and Fields are Bucknut homers. Not surprisingly Howard went for IU, but so did McAfee and Corso!

FOX Guys are all tOSU: Meyer, 32-26, Ingram, 34-27, Leinart, 35-24, Quinn, 44-20.

Inadvertently posted this on the wrong thread earlier today.

"Watching the GameDay preview of the tOSU v IU match-up leaning pretty heavy Bucknut advantage.

Nice profile of Caleb Downs with loads of big play tape. Lots of TFLs, PBUs and a pick or two on every opponent except..... Oregon. The one clip shows him making a downfield tackle on James after what must've been a big gain.

Downs will end up a 1st round pick and is immensely talented but it's gratifying to see that the Ducks more or less kept him from having a big day at Autzen. The GameDay crew had to reach to find a standout play from that October meeting."

Indiana receiver had separation, ball overthrown, but convert 3rd down on the next play.

Buckeyes not getting any rush on Rourke so far, just picking them apart.

PI in the endzone. Touchdown, Indiana. 7-0.

Ohio State's defensive line is getting no pressure on the QB.

And where were the flags and the refs paying attention to stuff when we played Ohio State????

Also. No clue who I'm rotting for in this game. If I don't have a direct Oregon stake in the game I go for the underdog but I do have a stake here and I'm not sure which team I want to playing the CCG.

So far, that looks true.

Howard makes a bad throw while falling down, gets flagged for intentional grounding.

If Indiana had a slightly better defense... Look out

Wild. tOSU had momentum and a buzz and the crowd in the game and then FOX put them through a commercial fest and it just sort of died and they get stopped at the 1.5 yard line.

Even the Indy coach mentioned it when the sideline reporter caught him. Crazy. What is happening in the game right now? More commercials.

Looked good there, stops tOSU on the 1.

That sack was much needed by tOSU.

Does anyone know if this game is playing anywhere else but on Fox? For the last hour, Fox has been showing a high school basketball game instead of the Ohio State Indiana game that shows up on the TV guide, with no indication as to where else the game might be being played.

In their last two drives IU is looking almost overmatched.

I was just going to say that! At the start of the game, IU looked the more energetic team. Is tOSU beginning to wear them down?

Their red zone Defense is looking pretty impressive though!

If you keep giving teams short fields to work, it will sooner or later bite you in the backside.

Indiana punter bobbled the snap, Ohio Stae recoverd on around the 10. First two plays they kept tOSU out of the end zone, next play, Buckeyes run it in. 14-7.

Just handing them the ball in the red zone is not a good strategy. Two TDs on short field. Thanks for update.

Indiana fumbles, Buckeye has the ball in his hands, but can't bring it in, Indiana recovers.

Indiana recovers, then gets a penalty, then punts, Ohio State returns it for a TD, 21-7, Ohio State.  Can you say Ohio State has the momentum?

Ohio State is an arrogant bunch - their coaches and players believe that they can line up and beat anybody with their talent.  Indiana came to play today, is well coached and is in the game.  The muffed punt is unfortunate.

Rven though OHio State has momentum they still look vulnerable.

They just have an athlete advantage and it's starting to show.

Oof, two special teams screw-ups by IU gives tOSU two touchdowns. And blitzing has put IU's qb on his butt three times and hurried several throws. Barring a heckuva comeback by Indiana, OBD gets a Bucknut rematch in Indy.

I don't know if I have ever seen a team get away with more penalties than Ohio State does (e.g., PI, holds).

Agreed. Indiana mistakes have led directly to Ohio State's scores, neither of these teams look like an obvious challenge to Oregon,

They are both very beatable, as is every team this year.  Oregon needs to get healthy, get their rhythm back on offense (getting players back might solve this) and play up to their standard.

It should be a fun ride the rest of the way!

Welp. It looks like Ohio State is taking control of the game now.

Still not overly concerned with the Buckeyes, as Indiana has not played one ranked team this season.

Hoosiers getting zero pressure on Howard and the Bucknut WRs are too much for the IU DBs when he has that much time.

Announcers are yapping about how much better the tOSU secondary is since the Oregon loss, but the real difference is QB pressure on blitzes that they didn't run against the Ducks. DL and WS will need to adapt to this but there's plenty of film now.

Indiana is getting exposed. They’ve feasted on a very weak schedule all season long and it shows. They came motivated to play but this team just isn’t built to compete right now against bigger, deeper, and more talented rosters.

Ohio St looks visibly weaker on offense than I remember. That doesn’t bode well for them if they finish this out and get to the conference championship game.

Canzano pre-game, yesterday:  Asked Bill Rabinowitz of Columbus Dispatch if Ohio State is focused on getting another shot at the Oregon Ducks and is motivated by that idea. "Yes, yes, yes, yes -- they do... no question."
