Just Ducky No. 9 Share Posted December 1 I guess you get what you waste your money on. Don’t think I will ever get over No O’s bull s**t. He is the queen of something I guess. DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 10 Share Posted December 1 This loss cost them a spot in the ACC championship game which should eliminate them from the playoff. I can’t see the committee putting in a team that can’t even finish 2nd place in a conference as weak as the ACC and who finished the season without a win against a ranked team. 1

The question is - would Lanning have even been on their hiring radar? Seems like the U likes to hire their own or make a big splash (like USC). All I can say, on behalf of Duck fans everywhere, THANK YOU MIAMI, FOR TAKING MC OFF OUR HANDS!!!! (Addition by subtraction - or, in this case, should we say exponents by subtraction?) 1

There weren't any other candidates it wasn't a coaching search. It was major donars saying they'll get rid of Diez and pay Cristobal. Cristobal was hiring their own and a splash hire all in one go. You’re right, MC is not a bad coach, he’s a really bad coach. I will give him props - MC is an elite recruiter and a great evaluator and developer of offensive lineman. However, I would not want him running my program, interfering in the offense/defense or making game time decisions. Go Ducks!!! So glad that he’s not our problem anymore! woundedknees No. 16 Share Posted December 1 (edited) First time I enjoyed Mario at Oregon was when he stood on the Plaza outside the MO Center, talking to fans prior to the fan celebration. The last time was when he said so long, and headed to Miami. In between, a lot of talk and less show. The entertainment he has provided since that day? PRICELESS! I'd say he's a good coach. But there is a large gap between good and great. Cristobal will never learn to get out of his own way. However, this season it felt like he was doing so by letting his OC and Cam Ward do their thing. That offense was one of the best statistically in the country, against inferior competition granted. In the off season he will give his fans hope that they can put it all together. But come the season he will make some bone headed decisions and get burned for them and lose to teams his grossesly more talented roster has no business losing to. Like you I'm glad he's not at Oregon anymore. He certainly saved us a lot of time, money and agony. Miami can keep him. Cristobal reached his peak in 2019 with a Rose Bowl win and Pac-12 championship. He hasn't learned anything since then. He'll keep Miami in the playoff hunt for sure... But that will probably be it. At best reaching the playoff but not sniffing the Natty. His teams will have too much talent to be denied the hunt.

Canvasback No. 19 Share Posted December 2 Ryan Day and Ohio State's unhealthy Michigan obsession lands them atop Misery Index WWW.USATODAY.COM Ohio State and Ryan Day care way too much about "The Game" 365 days a year, to the point where it strangles them when it... This quote form the article: Make no mistake, Miami has been a high-wire act all season and needed a lot of luck to squeak out games against the likes of Virginia Tech and Cal. If the Hurricanes get left out, the only complaints should be directed toward head coach Mario Cristobal, who manages to do less with more as consistently as any coach in America. Sure am glad Miami "stole" him from us. 2

GeotechDuck No. 23 Share Posted December 2 (edited) There is one stat that truly outlines how big of an upgrade Lanning was from Cristobal. Cristobal lost to 4 unranked conference opponents in three years at Oregon. Lanning lost to 0 unranked conference opponents in three years at Oregon.
