Jackson Arnold from OU is entering the transfer portal and their fan base is posting some interesting information.  I've not heard a PEEP about this "Arnold to Oregon" business, not that I am "in the know."

Isn't this the guy that they were so confident in that they 'advised' Dillon to explore his options?

"An upgrade?"

I have watched a few pieces of their games and I don't see him being "an upgrade".  Athletic?  Heck yeah.  Is he a good QB?  He struggled in games at OU, but that's not the best example.

Is he going to be better than Dante Moore, who is already on the roster and been in the system for a year? Unlikely.

But I love how they are paranoid that Oregon is stealing their players.

Seeing Dante sling the ball a couple times this last weekend gave me quite a bit confidence in him next season. He took this year as a learning opportunity and followed DG around like a shadow. He has every tool needed to be elite and now that he took the time to learn from a veteran QB he will be a stud for at least the next two seasons for OBD.

We don't need Arnold.

As Quacky noted, with Dante Moore we may have an actual starter in the breech. This is huge for us as in recent years we've needed the portal for a starting qb. One less thing to worry about for DL. Go Duck!

With the QB flip from Cal, we will have

2- 5☆ and at least 3- 4☆ on scholly at the QB position and at least 1 fast rising 3☆.

I know Lanning is always looking for better players, but I really can't believe they take a qb from the portal.

Not this year.

Footnote: I expect Moga or Novosad to transfer.

Same- would not be surprised to see Moga transfer.   No insights or direct knowledge in any way, just guessing.

Poor Wazzu. Oklahoma is poaching their QB, Mateer. Maybe they can snag Arnold.

I could see Moga sticking around and becoming a situational wildcard.  Sometimes he comes in at QB. Maybe others he’s a receiver or RB.

I think Lanning has outside the box plans for him and I think that’s why he came here.

He sat and learned from Dylan last year and still hasn't grasped being a starter. Maybe he'll go back to play for Lebby at Miss. St.

You've got to be kidding me. We'll take a great quarterback with demonstrated production in the portal. Jackson Arnold is a rehab project. We already have one that is likely better.

I still think we take a QB in the Portal and turn Spring ball into tryouts with way too many QBs.

My first thouht on the lead post is that OU could be an Oregon farm team.  Then I realized the whole country is an Oregon farm world.

Conner Weigman is another name that is being floated to Oregon and he's actually the highest rated QB in the portal. I really don't see him as a starter for a top 10 team and a guy like him is going to want more of a guarantee to start.

As my son said, teams like Wazzu and OSU are now in many ways, akin to a Triple-A farm club for programs like Oregon.

Was happy to finally see Moore play some meaningful snaps last week and he looked sharp.   10x better than the last 5-star that didn't work out for us.   But I bet he would transfer out if he doesn't get to start next year.   The embarrassment of riches in OBD resources and talent is just astonishing!
