criticalduck No. 2 Share Posted 23 hours ago You know someone at a bar told me that osu decided not to blitz OBD the first time around and that's why OBD won the game?? So it wasn't the fact that the O-line was just better than the D? It's amazing that OBD has the smartest, craftiest coach that has done more with "less" overall talent than osu! Money can buy you championships, ta&m, if you have the coach and staff to lead the young men! Oregon can, and will, out play and coach osu for another win. 1 1

HappyToBeADuck No. 4 Share Posted 21 hours ago Jordan, well done......many points to ponder! For me, just like in the first game, this matchup is a toss up. For a number of weeks these 2 teams were #1 and #2 in the rankings There is a good chance that the winner of the Rose Bowl game will bring home the Natty. (It is not a fluke that of the final 8 teams, 3 are from the BIG.) With all the the future NFL talent on the field, IMHO, It comes down to 2 key piints. 1. Who executes the best..... 2. Whose motivation is greater... From the moment osu2, fornerly tOSU, left Eugene they have loudly shouted to the college football world that they wanted a rematch....... Coach Day and Buckeye nation...be careful what you wish for....... GO DUCKS............. 1 1

They couldn’t cover our WR’s with seven defenders in coverage. They better make sure they get home on their blitzes if they choose to do so. 2
DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 6 Share Posted 21 hours ago The Ohio State fans are really confident right now. They sound an awful lot like we did after we crushed Oregon State last year to make it to the P12CG. Their biggest worry right now is trying to get the overconfident Tennessee fans to sell them their Rose Bowl tickets at a fair price. 1
OregonDucks No. 7 Share Posted 20 hours ago I’m extremely nervous about the Rose Bowl. Ohio State may be one of the top 2 teams in the playoffs. They certainly have as much talent as anyone in the country. Ohio State beat Oregon in the last 2 Rose Bowls that we played against them and the National Championship Game. Hopefully, Oregon’s recent success against the Buckeyes carries over to this playoff game.

T-Ferg and Tez could have big games, if Ohio State blitzes a lot. Hopefully Evan Stewart is the downfield threat he was in the first game. Is it just me or has he been really quiet lately?
Solar No. 9 Share Posted 20 hours ago We showed against Penn State that we can scheme our offense against DL pressure although Penn State's secondary isn't as good as OSU's. And it was good to see the new look of OSU defense to be better prepared for it. My biggest concern is OSU's offense scheming like they did against Tennessee. Attacking the edges of the defense and really taking advantage of their passing talent.
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 10 Share Posted 19 hours ago Thanks, Jordan. The wife and I will be leaving for the Chop House in short order. I'm going with your menu choices and a side of Smokey. Saint Nick called it in the pregame - "I expect a team this talented and well-coached to bounce back big versus Tennessee." Nick once again endeared himself to Vols and SEC fans everywhere. Watching the Buckeyes take no prisoners last night in front of far more scarlet than orange made the effort, or rather the lack thereof, on offense vs. Nebraska and Michigan even more puzzling. However, the Buckeyes D has shown up everywhere tOSU has played but for Eugene, Oregon. This Buckeyes D is as good as it gets in CFB and coming to Pasadena on a mission. The Buckeyes learned the hard way that they're not playing a Pac-12 team not ready to compete in the B1G. This will be a heavyweight fight from the first round through the 15th. If the game goes into extra rounds, OT, I will not be surprised. FanDuel opening lines: Ohio State -1.5. Over/Under 52.5. Two very good, when on their game, college Ds will be playing in Pasadena but I think the game could go over in the 1st half. Especially if Howard plays like he did vs. Tennessee. Both teams have weapons on O that if utilized properly (was Chip at the Michigan game?) will not be shut down. The PO format would PO any football fan not located in Austin, Boise, Tempe or State College but, as a great man once said, 'So What?' It is what it is so get ready for the 2nd Battle of the Os being played not in Indianapolis but in Pasadena. As I recall, other than as tabulated by a guy who was Crabby in the post-game, the Ducks first Playoff appearance in Pasadena went pretty well, eh? BASH BRUTUS! CRUSH CHIP! DECIMATE DAY! DUCKS ALL THE WAY! 1 2

MikeJ No. 12 Share Posted 16 hours ago It's a great, tough matchup. What concerns me more than the talent/coaching questions is the long layoff (3.5 weeks) and possibly coming out flat/slow in the first half. Not sure what Lanning can do about it, possibly some intense scrimmages, etc. to stay sharp. That's one disadvantage of the 1st round bye.

Signoramous No. 14 Share Posted 16 hours ago Agree. I'm worried about the same thing. If the first round had been a week earlier and those teams would have to play without the benefit of a week off, the bye would have been a huge benefit. As it is, it may be a detriment.

It's just a shame it's happening in the quarterfinals SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Ohio State and Oregon could very well have the two best teams in college football this year. JP Duck No. 22 Share Posted 5 hours ago Thanks for reading everyone! Jon Joseph, I love it! This is going to be another incredible game. These teams are the top of the class. I’ve never seen a Ducks team this complete and able to defeat all takers. This is truly a different year and different squad, likely yielding a different outcome after so many years of falling short. Ducks have got a tough road but winning it all was never going to be easy. This is our time to shine. As the best team in the country, we are here for a reason. Let’s go Ducks!
