That massive thud you heard was the Bandwagon Oregon fans jumping off.

This is a good gut-check time for real Duck fans, as loyalty is something to be admired--even when you lose. We have a few people here who, like a-pig-in-mud....love to wallow in the negative. And that's even when Oregon is good.

But I can't complain; everyone is stating the negative, and that is what a forum is for, and the negative will give us satisfaction later when Our Beloved Ducks learn and improve from this experience. And the big thing...I don't see anyone venting on us, as stating negative is usual and fine, but venting is extreme negative done ten times.

Thus this loss reflects the positive of this forum; we, as a community have grown. While we are a small number, it is something to be proud of...to be associated with such people of civility and honor.

This team will be quite different come December, and I don't mean the Penn State type of different, IMHO. It will be fun to watch the progress, and thanks for everyone for maintaining dignity, and not joining the Bandwagon Oregon fans.

I am an Oregon Fan....NO MATTER WHAT.

“No matter what”!

I have been through much worse. I feel the ducks will probably grow more from this loss than a win.

Still excited to be planning my trip to Rutgers this Saturday.

Night night, Knights!

I just hope that the COACHES learn that every opposing coach from now through the year will rush 7 guys to take Moore out of the game.

Im a Duck fan win or lose ,However I do take losses pretty hard.

Well, as long as we aren’t as broken as we looked on offense, this actually really won’t hurt us, and may actually help in the long run. I’m not going to gloss over the offense getting zero TDS in the second half (when we needed them) at HOME. No one, I said no one should be able to do that to us in our house.

That being said, we’re still in the top-10 and IU is now considered legit. If we had pummeled them they would have dropped hard in the polls. This makes the conference look way stronger and will go a long ways toward getting 3-4 bids instead of the two it looked it was going to get. Suddenly there are quite a few B1G teams with one loss or less at the halfway point.

Were it not for unexpected medical bills, I would still attend every home game I could, and scream and dance with the rest of OBD in attendance.

Those of us who sat in the (non-existent) rain, sleet, fog, and seemingly hopeless losses and ties of the late 60s, 70s, 80s, and most of the 90s, probably have a grater appreciation for what it took to arrive at the current state of OBD.

I can remember as a teenager walking up to the gate (NO LINE or waiting) 10 minutes before a game with Cal (featuring players then known as Bobby Moore and Isaac Curtis), paying less than $10 dollars each,

and proceeding to the seat of my choice, in a half empty Autzen Stadium.

OBD lost that day, too.

My buddies and I were back the next week to scream our hearts out, in the forlorn hope that better days were ahead.

WE WERE RIGHT!!

Down but not out. Look at the preseason top 25 and how many of them are 2-3 losses already. We're still good but not quite there. Ain't leavin the bandwagon. Go Ducks!

Charles, i am so grateful that The Ducks became a team that could have a bandwagon to get off of in the first place.

When I moved to Portland in 1984 I became a Duck Fan immediately. And they were bad to mediocre at best until Coach Brooks took them to the Rose Bowl.

The influx of money, continued movement and improvement right up to the 2010 Natty.

Fair weather fans and parents come with the sport, hec all sports!

The Ducks WILL grow and build from this difficult loss.

GO DUCKS!

I can't think of a better line.

For a team full of diaper dandies as Dick Vitale would say, this humiliating loss may be just what the team needs in the long run. Last year's tOSU beatdown was more about their A game being way more than anybody else's A game let alone B- game. This year they saw first hand that a scrappy little dog is more dangerous than a lethargic big dog. Though rhetorically obvious these lessons often need to be learned first hand. Don't be surprised if the team is much improved after this loss.

I'm more concerned on the coaching front. Our last four big games haven't seen the best coaching.

BIG Championship PSU: After building a sizeable lead, the team limped to the finish line needing a big play on D to escape.

Playoff tOSU: Did'nt look remotely prepared from the get go and Lanning's worst game at the worst time.

PSU 2025: After building a sizeable lead, the team limped to the finish needing a big play on D to escape.

Indy 2025: Out coached in every phase all game long and getting worse as the game wore on.

As the team's young 4-5 star guys mature into team leaders, the results should improve. I just want to see the coaching staff have better game plans coming in to top ten matchups with better adjustments to fix what's not working. As far as bandwagon elbow room, I personally enjoy being in an underdog position in top level matchups. I much rather celebrate with joy from a win than simply golf clap an expected win. When losing is a real possibility, the game is much more thrilling to watch.

Us grey beards have been hit with dysentery on the Oregon Trail many times, but it hasn't killed us yet.

Now, we get to come back for Moore squared.

Ducks are still a playoff team with some time to work on the problem areas. If it weren’t for the expanded playoffs I might be in full meltdown lol

As a self proclaimed Ducks bandwagon fan myself for this year, I can safely say I'm not leaving. My loyalties will always be Florida first, but I'm firmly behind Oregon winning it all this year. Let those other bandwagon jumpers start doubting. It was a ten point loss at home to a top ten team. It broke an 18 game home winning streak and the first ever B1G conference loss(Rose Bowl was a playoff game).

I will turn off some of the pundits after a loss... I don't need to hear the same things on repeat when they are mostly things I've already said.

But just remember everything is still to play for and most teams need a loss to smack them in the face to improve.

Right now I'm not so sure I'd want to be Rutgers as they're next up and set solidly in the get right game. Lanning should have this team fired up and realigned.

I trust this coaching staff. Next week’s performance will be key. Get a solid win and they can build from there. Losing a top 10 matchup is much better now than during the playoffs.

Just remember the same people who laud you and give you the flowers first are the same ones who'll be the first to throw stones. Just look at Alabama. Look at Texas or Oklahoma. Heck look at Notre Dame and Ohio State last year. You know, the two teams that won three and four straight playoff games respectively.

I became a Duck fan the day I was born (my dad was an UO graduate) and that will NEVER change because of on field performance. Win or lose, I love my Ducks (and I expect to experience a lot more winning than losing this season and beyond).

We lost to a good team, sucks, but you can’t win em all. I trust they’ll grow from it and come back stronger. There’s no way this team has seen its best football yet.

My bet is that plays will mentally start slowing slowing down for Moore and that very soon, he will begin picking blitzing defenses apart.

He's just too bright and athletic for that not to happen. I'm betting that within a couple weeks, he will begin feasting on the blitz.
