I am referring to our quarterback versus the other quarterbacks that we have watched play between today and yesterday. I cannot claim we have the best in ALL the Playoffs, because the Ohio State and Indiana quarterbacks are extremely extremely talented, but it sure seems like ours is on a different level compared to what I watched in the last two days.

Yes, he is a quality talent with a lot of upside. Throws a nice long ball. Glad we have him. I do not think he is ready for NFL.

Let's see how we look against some of the good defenses in playoff. I sure hope we get more than one chance to see!

I think Moore has the highest ceiling, maybe of any QB in the Playoff. I love the fact that physically he can make any throw. He can already play at or near an elite level, but I think he has room for growth, and I think he will get even better. I hope he comes back for one more year at Oregon.

Comparing him to the other first round QBs is tough. Simpson is very good, as is Chambliss. Dante certainly has more upside I believe. I’ll say this though, if I were picking one to stay for next season I would pick Moore.

It’s hard to get a good read because the level of competition varies so wildly from week to week.

Dante looks like the best pure passer in the game at times, but then makes some really bad decisions. Too many still.

The QB play in these two warm-up games, assuming Chambliss will be good to go in the Sugar Bowl, along with the play of their respective teams today, serves as a stepping stone into the P4 PO.

A warm-up game home win that helped TOSU last season, while OBD played Bye-Bye.

Both teams and their QBs are 1-0 in what they and their fans hope will be a 4-0 postseason.

Oklahoma's Mateer stole defeat from the jaws of victory. Bama QB Ty Simpson and the rest of his Tide teammates won a game they could and perhaps should have lost. But Ty is not Joe Namath.

Hats off to winning QBs, but I saw nothing to convince me that Ty Simpson will outperform Mendoza in the Rose Bowl or that Trinidad Chambliss will lead his Rebels to a victory over Gunner Stockton and Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.

In tough conditions, we witnessed a face plant by both Carson Beck and Marcel Reed.

Beck struggled against a defense that gave up 41 points to Notre Dame and 42 points to Arkansas. Will things get better against Ohio State?

Ryan Day and Julian Sayin have to be delighted to be playing Miami and not A&M in Dallas.

On 1/1/26, we'll see a different and more efficient performance on both sides of the ball in Miami.

The defense we saw tonight was a Muhammad Ali rope-a-dope. And there is downtime to figure things out. OBD's OC has other duties, but the O tonight was just fine. DC? Hats off to Tosh for hanging in before going Cal, but Danno knows a bit about D.

Dante Moore played better than any 1st round QB. And I believe he will play better than TT QB Behron Morton.

Texas Tech is about to play a game against the first Blue Chip Roster team it has played this season.

TT lost at ASU, and its best wins are BYU twice and Utah once; OBD has been there, done that.

The Red Raiders are a very good team, but on 1/1/26, TT will be playing the best and deepest team it has played this season.

I mostly agree with your take.

The ball that deflected off Benson’s hands/arm can’t be Moore’s fault. I don’t even think it should count as an INT on Moore’s stat sheet.

I agree that the receiver slipped on the 2nd interception; however, that’s because it was such a garbage desperation throw due to the pass rush.

All things considered, Moore played an excellent game.

I can’t stop watching the two dimes to Benson over and over again.

Dante threw the best balls and the A&M QB threw the worst.

I was very surprised at how physical Miami was. The next round of playoffs should be great.

Another observation is now that they are down the final 8, there are 3 northern teams and 5 southern teams. Fans in the south do not like it when northern teams win.

And Beck? What the heck was that? It was windy, but 103 yards; that's a lot of dinero per yard.

I understand A&M only played eight conference games, but in the name of Greg Sankey, how did the Aggies, without a rematch, find seven SEC teams without a winning record to defeat? The epitome of mega-conference scheduling.

It's difficult for me to guage because of the varied competition.

Example:

Tulane and JMU QB's were going against the best teams they faced all year. The JMU QB played very well against OBD's. He executed well in the first half but could not punch in a TD against the Ducks frontline D. In the second half against the 3's and 4's he and his teammates rolled up 28 points. However, he did not win and that is what matters.

On a do over, Tulanes QB missed wide open throws and couldn't execute. Ole Miss QB, just like Dante simply took advantage of lesser competition. Both QB's will face stout, pressuring defenses in the quarterfinals.

Miami and A&M QB's cracked under windy weather conditions. Dante had wind, rain, sleet and snow flakes in Iowa and still executed very well. Beck and the Canes O will find moving the ball very difficult against the Buckeyes D.

Didn't watch the Bama vs OU game. Cannot stand either team.

For me, it will be easier to guage after the quarterfinals because the matchups are balanced and better. If IU dispatches Bama, as they should, Bama leaves the field with 4 losses. I ask the CFP Committee and their ESPN bosses, how are they one of the top 8 teams?

As a Duck honk, at the highest level, i choose Dante. His first half performance was exceptional. He did miss a number of wide open targets, all game. Hopefully he clrans that up against TT.

I am not pleased with DL and his playing Dante in the 2nd half. He rolled the dice because Dante could have needlessly been injured. I don't understand his thought process. We would not win the next game without the #1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

GO DUCKS! It's about to get very real.

True, but it did look like the second one was going to be picked off anyway due to player positioning.

Naw, Johnson sees it is going short and slow, and comes back hard to get it. The defender sees that too, and either they both crash into each other with the ball knocked away, or at best—Johnson catches it and is knocked out-of-bounds at the two yard line. IMHO.

I wonder "WHY" the slipping? Is it the Nike cleats or is it the extra athletic taping? Multiple instances in other games this season. One would think these occurrences would be solved by now.

Agree with your take on Lanning’s decision to play Dante, at all, in the 2nd half. If he gets injured the Ducks are done, their quest for a title goes from being a favorite to being a decided underdog. The risk was not worth it.

I’d theorize the relative cold and generally moist air, combined with the surface being more worn out after a full season (assuming we didn’t put down a new surface before the game) is not something our playing surface experienced a ton of this year. Maybe they weren’t all wearing full rain shoes given it wasn’t actually raining?

Seemed very slippery though.

I thought the receiver was flat out knocked over on the first pick, second one was iffy decision and forcing it a bit (imo), but it happens. I think Dante is hands down the best QB that has played so far in the playoff.

Its tough to say just how good Dante is compared to others still in the tourney. One key aspect of any qb's game is how they hold up against adversity, and that adversity is coming. During the loss to Indiana a saw Dante really struggle with dealing with pressure. Since then he's appears to have improved in this area, but he will be tested big time again. I was impressed with Alabama qb in a come back win, didnt seem rattled at all even in first half of that game.
