Yeah we're 15/2 obsessed. You're the fan base that's bitching and complaining. Go lick yourself.

There's nothing worse than Fusky supremacy. Ive been dealing with it since the early 80s.

Fuskie fans may be right. Those dawgs may not be worthy of rival status any more.

Glad to see the butt sniffer, toilet water drinking huskies rolled in with the 93rd ranked national recruiting class on 247. 11th in the PAC.

They sure got some prime time talent , most likely, filled with academic prowess. My hand got tired scrolling down the list of all the schools.

Best thing for themselves they could ever do, but there’d be zero interest.

Next time start from the bottom... It will save you from scrolling too long from the top.

Hey, now, let's be fair:  it's pretty hard to compete with traditional powers like Liberty, Western Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Toledo, and Arkansas State, all ranked above them.  But especially with Campbell.  I mean, those Camels are for real!

Meanwhile Oregon scored their biggest recruit from the state of Washington in the last twenty years easily in Iuli.

Oregon has really failed to recruit the state of Washington but maybe things are starting to change.

GREAT reminder, and you are quite right, as this IS big.  If Oregon has a great year next year--we could poach some more from WA.

As a rower living in Seattle, this comment is much closer to the truth than one might believe.  It has been a few years since I've been out on the water since I've moved away from Pocock to West Seattle but I can tell you that watching those guys fly by is truly awe inspiring.

The joke is - largely because I think it's true - one rows because of a lack of coordination and fast twitch (I can assure you, I lack both in high quantities).  Yet, if you have never rowed, it is hard to communicate just how grueling the sport is with its combination of soul crushing, Geneva Code banned anaroebic thresholds (read: oxygen debt) and raw power balanced against insane demand for flow and grace.

If you can't tell, I love it so.  God help me, I do.

Anyhow, as a Cal alum I have a fiduciary responsibility to cast invective in that program's direction, but truth be told, you have to respect the bejeesus out of them.  Love the rivalry between two of the most elite programs in the country.

I've watched my share of races and I've always wondered, is Coxswain a role aspired to, or does it fall to the member of the team that can't handle the rigors of rowing?

Don't hate on the Cox.  Those people work their tails off (steering that boat can add or shave 1 - 2 seconds which is all the difference when you get to the uber elite levels).

Rowers love their Coxes.  Total tyrants that in any other situation would be seriously over their head.  I've had my family lineage and general worth as a human being called to question by my favorite Coxs.  For a split second, you contemplate gunnel walking but ultimately you love them all the more.

Yeah, it’s either that, or become a jockey.

CalBear95, welcome back! Let me add that rowing is a sport I’ve come to really enjoy. Living up here in puppyland, I’ve attended a few races on the Montlake Cut, and it’s genuinely exciting and engaging.

While it’s unknown for me to express anything positive about the hydrant wetters, I will say what there men’s eight did at the 1936 Olympic Games was as memorable as Jesse Owen’s Gold Medals.

For anyone interested, Dan Brown’s ‘The Boys in the Boat’ is a worthwhile read on that historic event. It upset Hitler pretty good. Like Norm McDonald said, the more I learn about the guy, the less I care for him.
