  2. I think everything that went wrong last Saturday is pretty obvious to us and the coaching staff from the film, and they will learn and adjust somewhat. IU is really good, but it's clear we are capable of beating them if we learn from the experience. I think some OC at some point is going to remember the reason why nobody uses a 4-3 base set anymore and call the appropriate plays to beat IU's defense.
  3. Well, I stand corrected, it was Limar who took the head snapping hit. Dante was hit on a scramble on the previous play, both of which happened in OT. Please execute me, I must have had a senior moment!
  4. Today
  5. This seems fixable. However, Moore could have a mental hang-up after being hit too much. If he can't get past it then they should get Novosad ready. Iowa's defense is going to test his mettle in a few weeks. He can count on that.
  6. I don't know. I do know I'm the most tech-challenged guy on the planet, so this is a WAG, but I think it provides an overhead view downfield and does not just follow the ball as is the case on TV. This is a guess, and I hope someone more on the ball 😁tech-wise will provide a definitive answer.
  7. But doesn't the camera follow the ball more often than not?
  8. Charles, do you have any remaining eligibility? There is a 58-year-old guy playing college football this season, and you see the field so well. You know I'm only (half) kidding. 😊 The Rose Bowl was an Epic Fail. This was a Fail. Dante goes from Heisman front-runner to his days playing for Chip at UCLA? The defense plays a very good game until it really matters in the 4th quarter? Oh well. Next case. It could be worse, in spades. We could be in (un)Happy Valley trying to qualify for the Sun Bowl😁with Saturday's game on the road against a team that never plays good D at home, Iowa. Then, after a nap, our Nits get to play ball in Columbus before entertaining Indiana. 🤪 If I'm back up QB Ethan Grunkmeyer's agent, I'm telling Grunk to take up field hockey. 🙃 Or, we could be Mad 🤬in Madison, where the only barrel we want to roll out is filled with Fickell pickle juice. Get right at Rutgers!
  9. And absolutely this. Moore was shaken and got antsy pretty quickly as the game progressed because he took so many sacks. Some were the offensive lines fault and some were half or holding onto the ball for too long. Remember Gabriel and Nix both could get the ball out in about 2 seconds. Yes, they were experienced but that kept them from taking a ton of sacks.
  10. Excellent point, but I believe the video on the tablet is shot from above and not at field level. On the sideline, you're looking at an aerial view.
  11. Passing the ball is not the problem, IMHO. Leaving the pocket too early, and not seeing open receivers downfield was the passing game problem.
  12. The runs up the gut were working. I say this every year, early on at least, we need patience and let the hot hand running back develop over the course of multiple series. Davison was that guy. He was getting chunk yardage on a regular basis. Our tackles were getting destroyed in pass rush and even on the outside runs but the interior was making lanes and a big back like Davison was taking yards.
  13. Last weekend, no one can argue that Will Stein's offense didn't seem have any answers for Curt Cignetti's defense. He looked to be relying on the passing game far to early and often. This clearly got Dante Moore into a bad rhythm that he couldn't work his way out of. Fortunately one of the nations top analysts, and our own Geoff Schwartz, thinks we have had the answer all along. 15. Injury report. Oregon Ducks injury updates ahead of Week 8 game vs. Rutgers Betting line changes Betting line shifts toward Oregon before matchup with Rutgers Lanning on the team after the loss Oregon's Dan Lanning Reveals How Dante Moore And Team Are Bouncing Back From Loss
  16. Considering the track record of Indiana's offense...holding them to 27 points is a good result, and it should not have been too much to ask the offense to score 28 or more. I noticed they tested the other freshman, RS freshman Iffy, and while they caught him with some interference...overall he played much better than a RS freshman would be expected to. We played senior Theran Johnson at corner often, (Northwestern portal transfer) and he had his difficulties with the Hoosier offense, but also made some plays. Thanks Alex, for a reminder about Brandon Finney Jr., (below) and I'd like to think that our newbie corners made some strides in technique and experience from what they learned from such a big game. It will help for when they face the upcoming passing games, such as Rutgers this week.
  17. Thanks Alex, always look forward to reading your thoughts. For me, our outstanding player was Bryce Boettcher. He was always playing his normal outstanding linebacker role.
  18. Just that the women had the exact same score, but the total points wasn't given. However, they did go 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6
  19. On Monday the press corps asked Dan Lanning what happened. What could Dante Moore and the offense have done better? Was it the Indiana defensive scheme, or an issue with his reads? The wheel route was open twice for big gains early in the game. The play shown in this video had two ducks open with one defender between them. The wheel route to the running back (Davison?) would have been a touchdown! Autzen ZooDan Lanning explains Oregon's offensive collapse against...It was Oregon's first loss at home in 19 games, and one of the worst in recent memory.
  20. Yes, it was Limar who took the hit to the head. I believe Dante Moore took a hit to the knee during the Penn State game. He limped off the field. That was borderline personal foul on the quarterback which would have been called in the NFL.
  21. I thought that was Limar who took that hit.
  22. Our Oregon football program suffered a disappointing and stunning loss in Eugene against Indiana. Oregon got all-around beaten in their own place, and it was hard to watch for Duck fans. Fortunately, the season didn’t end this weekend, and one shining star elevated MASSIVELY in the moment. Brandon Finney didn’t play a perfect game by any means. However, he did ... Week Seven's Shining Star
  23. I gotta say JJ that I wonder what parameters you feed to AI to retrieve the wealth on information included in your opening post, lol! I'll also note that it is silly season re ranking anomalies and nobody should be surprised--happens every year. I'd love to see what the new and improved RPI-like computer index that is supposed to be consulted for playoff purposes looks like at this point. Though that will change as much football remains to be played and college football is less transitive than it used to be.
  24. They'll continue with the big buyouts because they think they have to for success at landing the guy they (think) they want at the moment.
  25. Thinking back to the end of regulation at Penn St., when Dante took a hit to the helmet that snapped his head back (targeting?) When he walked out for the OT coin toss he was rocking his head side to side. I wonder if he was dinged a little bit and maybe suffering some PTSD against Indy from that hit. He really didn't look like himself Saturday. Maybe that explains some of his sub-par performance?
