  3. Ticket Prices for Oregon Ducks vs. USC Trojans After College GameDay AnnouncementThe Oregon Ducks face the biggest challenge in the back half of their season in a home game against the USC Trojans. With both teams ranked, and ESPN's College GameDay returning for their second time this season, ticket prices continue to rise. 4. ESPN/ABC has completely “jumped the shark” this year and has no more credibility when it comes to covering the SEC. My advice to their top college football analysts would be to leave the network before their professional reputations are permanently damaged. Someone asked why ESPN is no longer pushing one of their favorite metrics (FPI). Perhaps it’s because the top 3 teams in college football are B1G teams by their own metric?! ESPN2025 College Football Power Index - ESPNView the 2025 College Football power index on ESPN. The FPI is the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season.
  5. It was a little different. Byron intentionally dropped the ball before he crossed the goal-line. Whereas, it appeared that Whittington lowered the ball a little and then inadvertently bumped it with his leg. I’d like to see our players emulate LMJ and just hand the ball to the official after they cross the goal line but I’m old school.
  6. This analyst in her thinking is flawed. What do you say? Maldonado isn't wrong in pointing out that the Ducks have a minus-four point differential in the fourth quarter this season. But where she does stray from the truth is in the finer details of that mark, as Oregon was outscored by 11 and seven points in the final stanza by Northwestern and Rutgers, respectively. The Ducks were ahead by a combined 84 points entering the fourth quarter in those games, with the contest effectively over and backups and third-stringers all over the field. If not for that combined minus-18, Oregon would be plus-14 in the fourth quarter this season, weakening Maldonado's argument. But at the end of the day, none of this matters to the Ducks. Whether or not they're fragile will be tested in the coming weeks, as they're set to take on No. 17 USC and Washington on the road in the season finale. If they come away with wins in those games, they'll be in the CFP and will have to prove themselves as able to work through chaos and adversity. And if not, their season will be over rather quickly. Only time will tell if Maldonado is correct. Oregon was listed as a fragile team. Her reasoning: "Early execution, but late-game anxiety. The negative fourth-quarter margin says everything (minus-4)."

  11. Exactly. If for some reason we decided to leave the B1G, they seem to think that there would be some requirement to re-join the PAC, and they’d hold the keys to the kingdom. Uh no, that’s not actually a rule. We’d just start a new entity. And anyone that claims they know the ACC is imploding is just making things up imo. There’s way more brand depth in that conference than the B12 has…it might get watered down by 4 teams, but those other teams need to play somewhere, and that somewhere is not the new PAC.
  12. Evans played well, we need that sort of effort on a more consistent basis. Shelstad is getting there, Bittle was a force as usual. Don't think we're ready for Auburn and SDSU, but we weren't very impressive last year before the Vegas Tourney, so we'll see. Free throw shooting has to get better, they do a decent job getting to the line but they leave a lot of points there.
  13. Other thought... if the west coast schools were to "come back" they wouldn't come back to the Pac-12. Pacific Coast Conference anyone? That would be Oregon, Washington, USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford ... and maybe we snag Utah and the Arizona schools to put most of the band back together but leave OSU and WSU out to dry. Not going to happen... but it is by far the more likely scenario for the two.
  14. Four Ducks in double figures, better effort on rebounding and improved shooting percentage, fewer turnovers. This team showed improvement in most areas except free throw shooting. They've got some work to do there!!
  15. Oregon wins the ninth straight men’s basketball Civil War game 87-75 at MKA. Getting better! The link to the box score is right here, with Shelstad at 22 points, with some cold-blooded threes, Bittle was super with 24, and Evans had 16, but 14 rebounds? Wowsa.
  16. Oregon leads at half 41-34, with streaky play. Three point shooting is improving, and drawing fouls is going well. Beavers have some good players…

  19. I'm not as impressed with Franklin as you are. He had all the resources he could possibly want at Penn St. plus a constantly sold out 110,000 seat stadium and couldn't get over the hump to win the big games that would have made them a national championship contender. He's going to have okay resources at Tech and a rabid if smaller fan base, but it's not Penn St. Tech needs to win with innovation, as I hinted above like Oregon does, not with the conservative philosophy of Franklin. He may recruit okay there, but he will not dominate the ACC at Tech. I doubt at this point he will even dominate UVA (like they did not too many years ago). He beat who he was supposed to beat at Penn St. often with vastly superior talent. He won't have that advantage at Va Tech. I see Franklin as very similar to Cristobal.
  20. Ducks.......just run the ball and throw when the opportunity is there. USC will not touch Moore. Their DL is not capable of stopping the run if tested.......why Iowa and Nebraska went away from the run......only the lord knows. On the defense........double Lemon and Lane and make USC run.......Riley will eventually lose patience and throw anyway. He is aways going to throw eventually. Play the game straight.....Riley will try a few trick plays...which will blow up if Oregon plays straight. This game should not be close.......the only fear I have is the officials know that the BIG wants a 4th team in the playoffs.....if it's not the USC it's not going to happen......unless Michigan beats Ohio State. So we should expect a few peculiar calls. USC has benefited from several bizarro interceptions lately.....balls bouncing off hands and at a weird angle ending up in the stomach of a DL......and another few calls that I cannot explain.
  21. I don't know if it will be the same for a playoff game, but back when my DH and I went to the first PAC championship game at Autzen we were dismayed to find out we did not get our season-ticket seats. ☹️
  22. I think Franklin preferred to go to a school that appreciates him and understands he needs some time to get the football program where he wants it. It would be the exact opposite at the SEC schools. Virginia Tech probably said “We’re glad you’re here”. Whereas an SEC school would probably say “You’re lucky to be here”. Ole Miss has apparently told Kiffin him they need a decision by the time the Egg Bowl rolls around. It’s looking like he may jump back into the meat grinder of boosters, fans and admin who have zero patience. That may be a challenge he wants to overcome. I personally feel he’s more equipped to handle the pressure this time and I think he’s will be successful to a point. He may have some SEC championship game and playoff appearances and maybe even have some wins in those games.
  23. I look at this game as a final 'tune-up' for OBD. Next week they head to Las Vegas for the Players Era Festival. I'm looking forward to this tournament as Oregon will be facing stiff competition. It will show us how well they play and the areas needed for improvement. #22 Auburn (3-1) lost to #2 Houston 73-72 and San Diego St. (2-0). Although not in the top 25, the Aztecs come in at #26 with 71 votes, OBD at #29 with 28 votes.
  24. I don't think there is anybody out there the spells automatic L. OBD's D can keep them in any game and their run game is as serious as anybody's out there. Oregon's biggest problem this year has been making things too difficult on themselves by going away from what works and leaving too many points on the field. Back to back interceptions kept our O on the sidelines against Indiana and allowed them to build a lead when the run game was proving effective. Three drives in or near the red zone netting a mere three points kept the Iowa game way to close even though the run game was dominating. If the Ducks play and coach smart, they can hang with anybody. Win the next two and they'll at least have a first round home game and should be at least 50/50 for the next round. Can't wait for the SUC fans to cry us a river this Saturday.
  25. What I find interesting about a&m is the win against South Carolina, it is being viewed as a magnificent comeback from the brink. It should be viewed as what it was, a horrible win at home against a team that has only 1 conference win. Don't get me started on Sark, the x Huskie and x USC coach that we would have loved to have stayed at either. Now he is considered one of the top sec coaches-and maybe he is.
