  2. The Sporting News' recruiting winners lead off with three B1G Left Coast teams. College football signing day winners and losers: USC, Ore...USC nets top overall class with volume, Oregon close behind with a bevy of five stars. And, there is a good chance Chris Henry Jr. might end up at one of those schools after WR coach Brian Hartline's
  3. Jalen we are glad you ARE a DUCK…. You displayed great patience and a maturity that only great players demonstrate… You know your path… and we are here to support you…
  4. North Texas at Tulane for the AAC championship, 5:00 pm PT, ABC. The winner will likely be in the No. 12 CFP slot to face a team in the No. 5 slot. N. Texas is one of just 7 teams this season which did not lose on an opponent's home field. (Oregon was one of the 7 as well) N. Texas has been an offense powerhouse including thumping WSU 59-10. North Texas leads the NCAA with 46.8 points per game. They lead in total offense with 511.8 yds per game. They lead the nation in number of plays 10 yds and longer. N. Texas leads in total red zone conversions and is fourth in percentage success (66 of 70) QB Drew Mestemaker leads the nation with 319.6 yds passing per game. The North Texas and Tulane head coaches have accepted new jobs (OK State, Florida), but both will coach on Friday night, and both say they have been told they can continue with their teams if chosen for the CFP. NTSU head coach Eric Morris will be on the Oklahoma State sideline next season when the Ducks visit. He is a Mike Leach protege. He coached Cam Ward and John Mateer.
  5. I would like to see John David Baker from ECU get an interview. He was co-OC with Charlie Weiss Jr. at Ole Miss for two years. He runs the same offense Ole Miss runs, so I would imagine Pete Golding might give him a call. Another off-the-radar name is Landon Koepple from Texas State. He runs the same offense Mack Leftwich runs. His only drawback might be his lack of play calling experience (one season). He could be a good hire as a co-OC/QB coach if DL gives Mehringer the nod.
  6. I love getting atheletic players. More than 1 sport, or position. I believe multi sports aid in overall total development. Another great Lanning class! Gee, an old OBD guy like me could sure get spoiled. Just sayin.

  8. In thinking about a oc, least we forget, we hired a head coach with no head coaching experience, and that seemed to work out ok
  9. Snippets from this On3 article are... The 21st signature of Oregon’s 21 commitments in the 2026 recruiting class is in. On Thursday, Oregon officially announced that 5-star Lucas (Tex.) Panther Creek wide receiver Jalen Lott had signed with the Ducks. Lott, Rivals’ No. 2 wide receiver, has been committed to Oregon since July, but his paperwork did not come through on Wednesday and the Ducks did not announce him officially in their class. With Lott officially signed, all eyes are on 5-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei wide receiver and Ohio State commit Chris Henry Jr., who Oregon is trending for on the Rivals recruiting prediction machine. Rivals Eval on Lott Via Charles Power: Oregon commit Jalen Lott (No. 16) is one of the most athletic wide receiver prospects in the 2026 cycle and is in the midst of a big senior season at Frisco (Texas) Panther Creek. The 6-foot, 170-pounder is a high volume target who is a dangerous as a deep threat and after the catch. He’s an explosive long-strider who covers ground quickly. Lott is also competitive in contested catch situations. Through 11 games this fall, he’s caught 76 passes for 1,200 yard and 19 touchdowns, while increasing his yards per catch from 13.1 as a junior to 15.8 as a senior. Lott doubles as a defensive back and has high-end upside on that side of the ball, as well. On the track, he’s a state champion in the long jump (24-3.75 feet) and a 7-0 foot high jumper.
  10. During the Lanning era, rust has been way more consequential to performance than injuries.
  11. If you want to hear an even crazier story revolving around a once committed Buckeye receiver, not named Chris Henry. Look up Legend Bey. A 17 year old who flipped from Tennessee to Ohio State, only to flip back and sign with Tennessee. But, he has since said his older brother may have signed the LOI, and since he isn't yet 18, he needed his mother to sign as well. He is reportedly asking for his release, and intends to sign with Ohio State on Christmas Eve, when he turns 18. Tennessee will likely grant his release, but if they don't, he can just enter the transfer portal in January. Crazy stuff , there aren't any rules anymore. Between this, and the Lane Kiffin debacle, I think college football needs a commissioner. Just not Nick Saban, he's still very biased. Oh, and btw, there is now another potential Michigan cheating scandal. This time involving communications going down for their opponent in the second half of Saturday's game. Hail to the victors!!!! Oops, they lost😂. *Penn State currently has a recruiting class of two guys, Oregon broke that program worse than Sid tried to break Buzz Lightyear.

  13. Oregon would have the unanimous #1 receiving core in the nation. Let's not forgot defenses also have to plan for Davidson and Hill in the backfield. So, if I was an OC looking for a new gig, Oregon would have to be on my very short list considering all of the toys to play with! Which makes me think DL can have his pick for OC's and not get a retread like Chip.
  14. OBD already have the highest average rating per recruit on rivals. For the second year in a row. Rivals2026 Industry Football Team Recruiting RankingsA list of the top 2026 Football teams in order of recruiting rankings solely based off of the Rivals Industry RankingIf we get Henry, we will also have the highest total score. GA was 1st by both measures in 2024–rarified air!
  15. I don't think it's a bad idea. Gonzaga is a bad example, they worked themselves into a position where they could take on those challenges, women's basketball is also very different, you see a lot less upsets in women's basketball, there just isn't the distribution of talent. There is a lot of upheaval at OSU, and it would be a good idea to pause the series until the Beavs get their feet under themselves again. I don't want to see that series become a joke like the football game is now. That's just my opinion.
  16. You've got to know when to hold them, and know when to fold them into the regular season. 😁 FanSidedConference championship games are now a College Football...Want to stay in the CFP bracket? Don't play in a conference championship game.
  17. I believe Ol' Buddy Ryan called the Run and Shoot, the "Chuck and Duck."
  18. 🤯. Imagine a 2-deep of: Stewart, McClellan, Moore, Henry, Lott and Bair. Might need to run the 1980s version of the Houston Oilers run and shoot offense. 🤣
  19. Heavens! Moore, Stewart (if he returns) and Henry Jr, along with McClellan, Bair and a host of 4* talent in that WR room next year. With Dante slinging the rock. Wow.
  20. Maybe he should talk to Mark Few about out-of-conference scheduling philosophy?
  21. To go along with what Charles just posted: Oregon surges ahead for 5-star WR Chris Henry Jr. after Brian Hartline's OSU exitMomentum has shifted sharply toward Oregon, with multiple Rivals analysts logging predictions for the Ducks to flip the Five-star Plus+ talent. According to On3, Henry’s growing relationship with coach Dan Lanning, coupled with a strong NIL package, has positioned Oregon at the top entering Thursday. The Ducks, ranked No. 3 nationally, are pushing to pair Henry with fellow five-star Jalen Lott, whose signing is expected once final contract language is settled. Ohio State coach Ryan Day reportedly made a late pitch Wednesday night, selling the fact of the Buckeyes’ nine first-round receiver selections and the program’s development structure. Day also noted Oregon has yet to produce a first-round wideout. Texas made an aggressive NIL offer, but Henry has never visited Austin. USC and West Virginia have also made efforts, but neither are serious. A final decision could come as soon as Thursday. Oregon surges ahead for 5-star WR Chris Henry Jr. after B...The Ducks look to capitalize on Buckeyes' misfortune.
