You hit the nail on the head with this comment about the problem with Campbell. He’s used to getting his 3-star recruits and developing them into a Big 12 contender. Penn State expects top 10 classes with blue chip recruits. Campbell is going to have to battle guys like Day, Lanning, Riley and Moore for the big names. Now, he can choose to go the Curt Cignetti route, but if he so much as loses 3 games the torches and pitchforks are going to make an appearance. They might give him a season to get right, but then it’s time to beat the big boys. He won’t make it past year three if he doesn’t beat Ohio State at least once.

Oh yeah, he’s going to have no problem getting the guy he wants.

I get the feeling that while Oregon is competitive with anyone, when it comes to NIL, it doesn’t want to set the market, especially for QB and skilled players. Thus Oregon loses out on the top, top recruits from time to time when it comes down to a NIL bidding war. Best of luck to Chris Henry, Jr. except when he plays Oregon. More reason to hate Ohio State and want to beat them on the field. We have an outstanding recruiting class and I wouldn’t trade Coach Lanning for anyone.

In this situation I do think he was caught off guard with Hartline leaving who was the reason for Ohio State becoming WR U. He wisely took a step back, then his agent didn't let the crisis go to waste. Now we get to see if Day and company were able to address the loss of services of Hartline to his satisfaction.
