Indiana’s B1G Schedule
I hate the idea of just playing cupcakes, I don't want Oregon to be one of those teams who chickens out of playing good teams from other conferences, let Ole Miss, Indiana and others be that type of team. That mentality infects a program to the point that they don't show up when it matters most.

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
Yes and no, do I think that against some teams (Rutgers, Northwestern, and Wisconsin) Oregon is holding some stuff back, probably, but I don't think we're deliberately trying to play possum. We're doing what we need to do to win those games. Iowa and Indiana it was just a mix of bad play, bad play calling, and some bad luck with injuries/bounces/officials. We aren't good enough to sandbag against the better teams on our schedule.

Have the Pac 12 Zebras Replaced Their Patches but Not Their Stripes?
Both ref groups are bad but for different reasons. The Pac-12 refs were flag happy and replay happy. They threw flags at almost any contact all the time. It was frustrating from a Duck perspective because we often wanted to be the more physical team and we'd get flagged for breathing on Washington State receivers funny. Sure they also missed plenty of calls but they threw loads of flags. What made it more difficult from a viewer's standpoint was that they would also go to replay for what felt like forever and did it frequently. Pac-12 refs were really just awful for slowing down the game. Occasionally it felt like they tried to put their thumb on the scale. Namely whenever we were in a close game with Stanford. But it always felt like the biggest Pac-12 ref crime was slowing down the game to a crawl. The B1G refs are the opposite. They rarely throw flags and let things just play out. That is... unless you're a blood blood. Other B1G fanbases warned us upon joining saying the refs and the conference always seemed to work to protect their blue blood teams of Ohio State and Michigan. Remember against Ohio State last year how they didn't take a look at that obvious fumble on Ohio State's first drive? If that fumble stands that's 7 points off the board for Ohio State! Again Iowa I saw Bear Alexander held on a majority of snaps without a call. The no-calls are egregious. Both conferences have/had bad refs but for different reasons.

We have the Best Rushing Offense in the Country
I really meant by “our” the coach’s go-to back and I believe it is because of Whittington’s experience, reliability and ball security. The proof is the number of carries he gets. You are certainly most welcome to your choice and opinion.

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
WW is right, pacing is a better description. Any body who has watched the Ducks play or swim the games against NW, IU, PSU, Whisky and Iowa knows there was no sandbagging. With 7 games left until we hoist the trophy it has been great that many players have been able to play and give the srarters a break. Best of all, look how great the #2's and some #3"s played in a big rime game. Is,that sandbagging?

It's OFFICIAL: Oregon is Truly a Big-10 Team...
And I don’t believe that our offense had one false start. They have done a great job preparing for the crowd noise this year!

It's OFFICIAL: Oregon is Truly a Big-10 Team...
On that play, Iowa had 5 offensive lineman and 5 wide receivers, with an empty backfield. Oregon decided to line up with 3 down lineman and a DE playing as a spy. That is 6 vs 4 advantage in the box for Iowa. Even if it were a pass play, the correct QB read would be to pull the ball down and run (he only needed 3 yards). It’s like the Ducks were daring Iowa’s QB to run the ball, which I don’t understand. I would have dared him to throw the ball with 1:1 coverage against his receivers, given pass defense is the strength of our defense and Iowa is not great at throwing the ball. Even George Wrighster said he was yelling at his TV.

Have the Pac 12 Zebras Replaced Their Patches but Not Their Stripes?
Not only was the officiating horrid in the Iowa game. Really, one penalty for one yard vs Iowa and zero holds!! But the league has omitted Mich St was on the wrong end of two bad calls. I saw the second one where the receiver's jersey was clearly yanked. And on the next series Mich St was flagged for a much lesser tug. Setting up the winning TD in TO. "Against Michigan two weeks ago in East Lansing, Malcolm Bell timed a snap perfectly, sacked Bryce Underwood, and jarred the ball loose and it was picked up by Jordan Hall in a tight game. The turnover would have given Michigan State the ball near midfield with a chance to go down and make it a one-score game. Instead, a late flag signaled that Bell was offsides despite the replay clearly showing that he timed the snap perfectly and didn’t do anything illegal. Michigan was given the ball back and it ended up scoring shortly after to put the game out of reach. As if that wasn’t bad enough, that bad call was followed up by the refs overturning an interference call in overtime at Minnesota on a third-and-short play. It was a clear interference on replay, and the ball was even spotted to reflect the penalty with the teams about to line up for the next snap, but about 90 seconds later, the officials picked up the flag and moved the ball back for fourth down."

Crazy Coaching Carousel Could Seriously Affect Ducks
Good call, he will be in demand. It will take a big (perhaps B1G) check to get Dilly to leave his hometown and alma mater. He knows he can take ASU to the PO without the SEC grind and B1G competition. He's in a conference with zero Blue Chip rosters.

Wowsa. Powerful Facts from PFF Concerning Oregon-Iowa Game...
Defense on this play was out of whack. We had extra defenders on the outside outnumbering the receivers 3 - 2 on one side and 4 - 3 on the other side. In the pictures we have the pre snap and post snap. This gave them 5 on 4 in the box. What were we thinking? Well ok, I was thinking QB draw probably along with most of the forum.

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
Sandbagging would be very foolhardy. You can't turn on and off the emotions of a game in the game. Although Sam Houston State did put on a rope-a-dope and a thanks for the check clinic in Corvallis.

Indiana’s B1G Schedule
3-5 Penn State has to win out to go bowling. Bring the effort PSU showed against Indiana, and the Nits should win at Michigan State, home vs Nebraska in a battle of talented backup QBs, and on the road at Rutgers. How much do future PSU draft picks care about going bowling? And if PSU qualifies for a bowl, how many players, including those not eligible for the draft who are considering the portal, will suit up? Agents for Penn State players who have been in CFB for fewer than three seasons are receiving offers. 5-5 Rutgers after a Bye in Week 12, plays at Ohio State, and finishes at home vs. Penn State. If the PSU players give a spit, it's likely Good Night for the Knights' bowl hopes. More teams than OBD have backloaded B1G schedules. Iowa has lost three games by a total of ten points and is out of the PO. SC needs to drop Notre Dame and play an OOC game vs a G6 opponent at home every season. Compared to ND, SC gets nothing out of this game and does not need an extra trip East every other season. I'm OK with the return game at OK State. But considering the teams Indiana played OOC and its ranking, as well as a brutal schedule for OBD in 2027, drop the game at Baylor in 2027, and in Autzen in 2028, and play San Jose State both years instead. Oregon has nothing to gain with a win against a B12 football team and a lot to lose. Texas HS players will not choose OBD because of one game in Waco. The B1G may not have a 4th team in the PO field this season, which means millions of PO dollars less than last season.

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
I don’t think we are sandbagging. Responsive pacing would be closer to the truth, as in the sense of how a good boxer figures out, and then anticipates the moves of an opponent in order to defeat him with counter punches.

Canzano: Implosion of Pac-12 Working for Nobody -- except Oregon Ducks
Tired of Canzano. The demise of the PAC12 is old news. Things change, and the future is uncertain….we get it. NIL quickly changed collegiate sports. Athletic budgets have exploded. AD’s were once relationship managers to the alumni for needed donations to fill budget gaps. Today, those budget gaps are getting bigger, and require AD’s to have a higher level of business acumen to increase revenues. Staying competitive in any business requires innovation and investment. Oregon’s rise to relevance was not accomplished overnight. Oregon has been innovative, and invested. For now, we are reaping the rewards.

Crazy Coaching Carousel Could Seriously Affect Ducks
There is one name that never seems to come up when it should be first to mind for any team needing a coach: Kenny Dillingham I realize he's an Arizona guy through and through, but you HAVE to at least make a run at him. He's got it all. The youth, the offensive mastermind and the record, nearly picking off Texas in the playoffs.

It's OFFICIAL: Oregon is Truly a Big-10 Team...
Glad I had my best rain gear with me. Felt a lot like November games at either Autzen or Husky Stadium through 3 quarters. The 4th dipped into new territory. Even the inebriated 18 year old Hawkeye fans in front of us were putting their shirts back on. A note on Kinnick Stadium - top flight. Hard to believe it sits 70,000 because there’s not a bad seat in the place. Great crowd - through 3 quarters my ears told me the decibel level was a cut below Autzen, but the fourth ratcheted-up to pretty close to us. Good fans!

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
It's an aspect of playing in the Big Ten, and preparing to play physical. 2025 season total plays/games – national rank 6-Rutgers 726 in 10 15-Indiana 694 in 10 41-Purdue 643 in 10 46-Nebraska 635 in 10 84-USC 595 in 9 98-Maryland 587 in 9 101-Oregon 583 in 9 (64.8/game) There are 11 B1G teams located between Oregon and No. 133

We have the Best Rushing Offense in the Country
I'm thinking like this. Will Stein has no excuse to have any tendencies with this offense, but if there is one tendency he could get away with, it is running the ball too much, because defenses can't stop it even if they see it coming. We should not have tendencies of screens of any kind, trick plays, reverses, predictable pass only formations. It's great to have variety and use those to keep defenses honest, but that's about it.

Wowsa. Powerful Facts from PFF Concerning Oregon-Iowa Game...
Jericho Johnson was a great development for us against Iowa. He was the DL I was most excited about in his class based on his his film and measurables. ROC boys gave him a shout-out during their post game analysis that our run D was more stout when he was in. And he was only in for running situations, but that is crucial depth to have to make sure we don't fade late in games.

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
Sandbags are used to hold the water out. Hard to do when you’re playing in the rain all the time.
-
Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
I certainly don't think we were sandbagging during the Iowa game; with three top receivers lost....we were fighting to win a game, IMHO.

Interesting Question: 'Is Oregon Sandbagging Games?'
Some interesting discussion by John Canzano and Oregon fans.... Q: Is it possible that Lanning’s team is pacing itself? Is that the secret buried in the flow of this season? A: I spoke with offensive coordinator Will Stein a few weeks ago. Something he said in our conversation stood out. Stein mentioned watching Ohio State play its best football in December and January. We talked about the art and science of that run. I wondered if UO’s plan this season was to slowly rise to meet the challenges and moments each week, but keep its cleats on the turf for when it counts. Q: Do you think the Ducks are sandbagging games to disguise, disrupt, and obfuscate future game opponent strategies? A: There’s no “sandbagging” going on. But I do think Oregon is pacing itself better this season. The substitution patterns with the defensive backs caught my eye earlier this season. You can tell UO’s coaches are playing more players, looking to distribute the snaps, and trying to build toward playing their best football in December and January. It’s what Ohio State did last season.

Big Ten Schedulers Don't Seem to Want Oregon to Repeat, or Even Succeed
The play before the Iowa FG, I thought it was intentional grounding. The QB was outside the pocket, but the ball did not clear the line of scrimmage and the ball was at least 5 yards short of a WR/TE.
