Rule Question
They would have scored 2 points. Oddly enough this sort of question came up during the 2012 Fiesta bowl when Kansas State picked up a missed extra point. If anyone is interested I can break down that instance as it's a little stranger. Only 2 points were at play during the 2 point attempt so if Penn State ran it back they would have scored two. Which means it would still be OT because they would still down 30-26 and have their offensive attempt. If they scored a TD in this scenario they would not need to try a 2 points attempt and win at that point. Basically, the amount of points at play depends on what part of the game is being played. It was a 2 point attempt, thus two only points at play because it was not a normal down. Keep in mind as well that on extra point attempts the clock does not run. Whereas, something like that time when Auburn returned a missed field goal by Bama allowed them to score a touchdown because it was a regular down situation and a max of 6 points was available on any live snap.

Our Beloved Ducks: Is it SAFE to Dream?
Touching my wooden desk as I type this - As long as we played as hard and smart as the first 50 minutes and the last 5 minutes of last night, we will get it done this year! This Ducks team is deep and talented enough to beat anyone. Plus we clearly have the best HC to lead and motivate. Go Ducks!

Shamefully, this old Duck fan picked PSU to win in a close game. Mostly because i am a bad picker and OBD's do the opposite of my pick. They did not fail me.! Last nights dominant defensive performance gives me hope to dream of a Natty victory this year. Can they stay focused and continue to improve? I am confident they will. PSU's DC took the long pass play away from Oregon. They kept everything in front of them, however the Duck running game kept the chains moving. Eventually a very composed Moore found the short and intermediate passing routes for 3 TD passes. The in game adjustments that were sometimes missing in previous seasons were not missing in this game. The Duck O performed and excelled on the big stage! As a fan, i am confident they will improve even more. Especially with Moore, Moore and the baby freshmen. Go Ducks! Some of the Duck running backs may be at the redshirt threshhold and decisions will be made. However, as others have posted, Hill and Davison have earned their playing time. But we have 11 or 12 games to go before we can raise the trophy we all dream of, so I think DL will spread those carries around to keep players fresh. I hope that the Ducks take care of business in the first half so our backup QB's get meaningful game snaps. Go Ducks! Another top 10 team is coming to town in 2 weeks.

Rule Question
What would have happened if Penn State had returned that interception all the way on our 2-point conversion attempt in the 2nd OT? Two points for them and then they get ball back only down by 4?
-
Our Beloved Ducks: Is it SAFE to Dream?
For a redshirt if he still has his redshirt. Of which I don't know. But if that's the case what a story. The transfer get beat out by freshman. It's true when Dan says come to compete... He means it.

I woke up and I still can’t believe how well the run defense played yesterday. If they can continue to play like that, Oregon has a legit shot to beat anyone in the country. I love that we shortened the RB bench to Whit, Limar, Hill, and Davison. I believe those 4 are the best in that room. I suspect Hill and Davison will start to get a larger share of the carries as the year goes on. We already know we have the best coach in the country. But do we have the best QB too?? Moore was so calm and just picked them apart. That was outstanding.

We will go as far as Dante Moore will take us, and based upon his decision making, and passing accuracy so far, that could very well be to the final game of the CFP. We have paid our dues, time to take that final step.

I think we also can clearly see why Makhi Hughes isn't getting reps. He didn't suit up either, which means he's likely going to transfer again. Four games is the limit to maintain eligibility correct?

My condolences Desert Duck. You missed one of the greatest College Football weekends ever. I gotta tell ya-I would have been HEATED. My wedding was the last week of February. No way football season gets sacrificed in my household. That woman hates men. That husband better not be a college football fan. I'd make him do up and downs for a week if he is.

On the Bandwagon- Let's Go Ducks!!!
I'll let them know that the future is great with your version of Steve Spurrier. Lanning isn't leaving Eugene, and he's going to win a championship. Glory days are ahead and it's great to see great fans celebrate the first one. Trust me, it's the best. Thanks Charles. One day I'll have to take a trip up to Eugene. Hopefully the Gators and Ducks will play in what could be an annual B1G/SEC challenge.

He's an alum. I would love to see Williams running and throwing in a Gators uniform. Unfortunately I think Billy has ruined Lagway in a Florida uniform.

I believe the trenches out muscled and out worked a very stout team tonight for one of the most hard nosed football games Oregon's had played in a long time. Reminds me of Stanford in the good old days.

Our Beloved Ducks: Is it SAFE to Dream?
I wholeheartedly agree, they are the next Duo at Oregon with the lightning and the thunder. Reminded me of good old days of fullbacks as lead blockers and short yardage backs. I'm just waiting for them to line up in the I formation!

Add in Blake Purchase at OLB playing off the line falling into pass coverage all while holding a good edge and this was a great run stopping D.

Hill and Davidson need more reps. They were fantastic and easily the next two running backs tonight. Limar looks like a pretty decent to good blocker but his running is frankly meh. And Whittington is a threat to be a home run but if he doesn't hit a big play it's often not for many yards. Meanwhile... Hill just ripped off yards using his speed and vision. Davidson had some fantastic blocks and some power runs. Seriously ... Get those two the ball more. They are the future and the best two running backs on the roster right now.
