  2. I wonder if Novo had gone somewhere else and played early if he would be a QB the Ducks would be thinking about portalling in next year. If this is how the future of the QB spot is selected it seems to me that the days of signing top level QBs is over. Am I missing something?

  8. I like Novosad and feel like he is a plus QB needing game snaps. This year I liked having him in the room as backup if need be. I fully expect him to be another transfer from Oregon to land elsewhere and perform very good. There must have been locker room issues and understanding that led to Brock’s emergence. We have other good QB’s in the room, but have little information regarding their capabilities, development and ceilings. We know that Dan is building a championship capable team for 2026-27. He knows better than us the QB skills and leadership necessary for the season. He knows winning a Natty requires a top QB. I am reasonably sure he will find and field one. He will likely bring one in, but the room will compete in the Spring and Summer to decide who is the week one starter.
  9. No program deserves the shade being thrown at it than Notre Dame. FanSidedNotre Dame was the biggest loser of an electric Pop-Tarts...The Pop-Tarts Bowl featuring Georgia Tech and BYU was everything right with college football. Which makes Notre Dame utterly wrong for skipping it.
  10. I think it’s assuming a bit much to think that he’s going to Kentucky. Guessing the transfer was happening with or without WS leaving…he might not be good enough to start in the SEC. I hope he is and that he kicks butt.
  11. Sports Illustrated - Whittingham Hire is the Perfect Scenario for Michigan SIGrading Kyle Whittingham to Michigan: Veteran, No-Nonsens...The Wolverines land someone who embraces a style of football fans want and can revamp the culture.
  12. It's a new Day. Ohio State's title last season is sullied because the starting QB transferred in? 😏 Transfer QBs starting in the PO quarterfinals - Oregon, Dante Moore - Ohio State, Julian Sayin - Miami, Carson Beck - Ole Miss, Trinidad Chambliss - Indiana, Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza. If the NFL had unrestricted free agency, you'd see the same. Just Win, Baby! You don't get extra credit for recruiting a QB out of high school than you do for recruiting a QB out of the portal.
  13. Thanks, ND. I agree with your assessment. I expect Michigan AD Warde Manuel feels like many Ducks fans did when Oregon caught the last flight out to the Big Ten. B1G sighs of relief. After a botched search, Penn State hired a coach who is a great fit in State College. After another scandal, Michigan hired a coach with a sterling reputation who was surprisingly available. Any new hire comes with questions, but in both cases, I think the employer lucked out. Does 'Wreck Tech' have a familiar ring? UGA, Get Smart and Diss Miss Ole Miss.
  14. BYU is clearly the more talented team. If it was a meaningful game with all starters playing I think they would’ve won by 3 scores.
  15. He won’t mind. He probably agrees with you.
  16. I believe Matt Prehm is correct from 247 Sports: "The Texas Tech Raider defense gives their insight into how to defend Oregon QB Dante Moore. Their mandate vs. Dante Moore: “Collapse the pocket” and live with the chess match." What should the Oregon Ducks expect from Texas Tech's defense? So what can we expect to see from this Texas Tech team, and in particular, what type of challenges will they present? Let's dive in.

Oregon Ducks On SIAustin Novosad's Transfer Reveals Wild Oregon Quarterback...There hasn’t been a lack of great quarterbacks to play for the Oregon Ducks over the years. 19. Pretty confident that once these kids commit then a meal plan and workout regiment is guided for them. Hopefully, he followed direction. After all, these recruits at this level are pretty self driven. They have a whole nother gear (pun intended).
  20. I snorted my Irish Cream Cocoa right there! Bet that final burns a lot worse for the Tigers and the SEC!
  21. I understand yours and JJ's concern about Whittingham, but I have to admit that I admire the man and the way he coaches and I will be rooting for him (especially against Ohio State).
  22. While I did not labor through every play, I totally agree with Kamikaze Kid that JMU would have the upper hand on either team. It made me think that a super conference of 22 or so teams could not be all that far into the future.
  23. Houston 38 - LSU 28 with 2 minutes left in the 4th Q and LSU deep in its own territory.
  24. The B12 showed up today. BYU won a physical game. Houston leads LSU by 3 points with 6 or so minutes left. The conference may be better than given credit for and perhaps, Texas Tech didn't defeat a bunch of bad B12 teams. The ACC's UVA stifled the MIzzou O and won 13-7. Watching this game was almost as bad as watching Sex in the City reruns. The ACC, B1G, B12, and the SEC all had six teams that did not win six or more games. It's going to be interesting to see how the remaining bowls and PO quarter finals play out.
  25. Kentucky has a RSo to be QB that played most of this season that apparently has fans pretty excited. He is a Kentucky kid who I guess was one of the highest rated in-state QBs to ever commit there back in 2024 (Cutter Boyle). He threw for 2160 yards leading UK to a 4-5 finish. I guess there was some panic he was going to jump in the portal with the coaching change and stayed (and there have been some comments from both Stein and new OC Joe Sloan backing Boyle as QB1). I don't see why Novosad would pick another spot where he enters as a junior behind a sophomore? (It sort of sounds a bit like Stein and Novosad would be starting their tenure off with some unhappy Wildcat fans and some extra pressure on both if Stein leapfrogged the popular in-state kid for a guy with 15 career passes)
