I am more interested to see what role they get on their new teams next season. And then of course, what kind of an impact they have. The track record of those leaving the Ducks is very, very low. There were a few QBs who shined in the SEC, but other than that, not too much. If memory serves me: Dante Dowdell, Lake Seastrunk, the OT who went to BYU were stars. And I am not counting the ones who left right away like the QB who went to Cal and the RB who also went to Cal a few years back or the WR who went to Florida. Tyler Schuck had a good year at Tech. I am also not counting the ones who went to 'junior varsity' programs like Nevada, Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky or "Southeast Idaho Community Tech".

Charles, Athlon Sports is one of the many sites you referred to. I don't recall any 'expert' picking Indiana to win it all last season. Last season, Indiana's combined roster ranking was the 72nd-best combined roster in CFB. A 'Red Chip Roster' if you will. And in the preseason, Indiana was ranked No. 20 in the AP Poll. This season, the Hoosiers have the 8th-best roster. I imagine and hope that Dan Lanning is telling the team to avoid all of the preseason champ chatter. I think Dante Moore would have out performed either of the 2 QBs in the super bowl this year. To me the game was awful.

I think he is a wise man who has received wise counsel from his support group. I think he is more likely to fulfill his goals this way. Also a nice role model alternative for the NIL era

OBD's certainly have the talent to win the Natty next season. ..... However they first have to gel together, navigate a strong conference schedule and minmize injuries to key players. Then the young coaching staff needs to continue to improve their game planning and in game adjustments in the CFP. It took Cig 4 decades to win his Natty. DL is in his 5th season. Can he learn and adjust when it matters? I believe he will, just don't know what season......

He also knows that his skill level is not NFL level under pressure. Watching the Super Bowl is a reminder that a top level defense forces QBs to get the ball out in about 2 seconds just to survive. Then you actually need to complete the pass to guys wearing the same uniform.

Since we will probably/have to lose all the returners on the DL, it will be interesting to see if any of the departures try and return for Duck glory. And, if so, will they be welcomed back?

I love the top prediction but reading between the lines, there are too many B1G teams that would make the playoff. By my count he has Oregon, Washington, U$C and Indiana all in. What about a Michigan team that beats OSU in the 'shoe'? Does a three loss OSU get left out? Can any three loss BIG team get in? So maybe five B1G teams in the CFP? I can see the snowflakes falling in Hades, hear the outraged whining from SEC land and the hurricane roar from Pawwl F's ears flapping.

I don't know how to feel about that, and the many other predictions about Oregon getting their first 'Natty. The respect and exposure is great, but we have not yet proven to respond to the big moments yet. But eventually we can break through and...

I'll be interested to see what the re-sale market is next year.

All, I will miss Tionne Gray and Blake Purchase. They are both terrific athletes, and I appreciated Blake Purchase's RS year to better prepare himself. I believe we will miss both of these players immensely. We must be smarter with the carrots we use; the players want to play, but the other players motivate players better than just the coaches. I believe we ought to start substituting Elijah Rushing and Aydin Breland whenever it is feasible to give the starters a break. Use them or LOSE them. When we give the defensive starters a break to catch their breath, we produce a better product; and not all at once, please. Too many teams (in the B1G) are head-hunting OBDs - don't want to give teams an easy 7 like we provided Northwestern this year. Don't want to reward but then punish our defensive starters. I could visualize Elijah as another Matayo if he gets the snaps, and the players hold him to the Duck standard; IF. The same with Aydin - use that carrot, but from the players; it's more powerful. Fans became the victims. The cost of chasing a trophy that in the scheme of our families lives, means absolutely nothing. Another alternative was to rebuild conference with the rodents, and cougs. That keeps ticket prices lower, but….

Good for him. Sometimes, with some people, money isn't the only thing that matters. It's easy these days to be cynical about everything in college football, but I believe him, too.

I hope so as well, but.... There will be a massive "construction" fee per seat on the north side in the future to upgrade the stadium and add 10-12,000 more seats some day.

College football is big business. I remember the Chip Kelly train and when it ran off the tracks with Mark Helfrich. The athletic department is going to push the price of tickets as high as possible, while still selling out. When the train went off the rails and the stadium wasn't selling out, it was amazing how flat the ticket price was for those couple of years. When demand is higher than supply, it doesn't matter what it is, the price is going to go higher. One can hope, when the Ducks do make equal TV revenue money, they will be able to ease off a little on the continual raising of athletic ticket prices.
