  2. The rating per recruit seems to be a more accurate way to measure a class.
  3. New quotes from June, when Oregon was lagging in recruiting and USC fans were loving it. "Are Nike’s sales down? Uncle Phil’s impact/clout seems to be diminishing." "Nike U never wins anything except changing uniforms combinations…." "Yes, other schools are upping their NIL to match what Oregon had been doing all along in recent years. If the Zeroes are not in position to up theirs even higher in response does possibly place it as NIL related. Just very unusual for them to have so many misses on bidding wars with USC, Ohio State, Texas, and Texas A&M to name a few recently." "I think Oregon has been slow to adapt to 2025's recruiting budget norms with so many schools now having large warchests, and it's possible they've been conservative due to the house settlement. Hard to say, but it's glorious to watch." "I think if Phil was pulling back on NIL, the zeroes wouldn’t have grabbed 3 of the top OL, top safety and one of the top RBs in the portal among others. I’m only speculating here but I think Oregon’s recruiting failures are more about a change in strategy around HS kids than a lack of funding. I’d love to be wrong." 5. Agree! Oregon Leaps Alabama in Updated Recruiting Rankings While you are still dancing, or slapping hands or taking celebratory shots at 11 AM (Pacific), Oregon is leap-frogging Alabama in the latest recruiting rankings. Oregon had the No. 7 class in the nation to start the day. But with the addition of five-star EDGE Anthony ‘Tank’ Jones, Oregon swapped spots with Alabama to end up at No. 6. The Ducks have one of the most impressive classes in the country with only 16 verbal commitments. This list is built on quality not quantity. Oregon’s average commit rating sits at an astonishing 92.47. The class is made up of 87% blue chip recruits. 6. Turns out DeBoer got tanked! Yay!
  7. Oregon is No. 6 in the nation currently with Rivals, and this class now has THREE edge rushers. It is hard to know "who" is really good, so Danno is recruiting them, and getting them here to find out. It helps to assure a great future pass rush!

  10. Tank you, DL. You're a fantastic recruiter.
  11. Good luck with enforcing that. True, but going forward they have to. And a national corporation can compare a celebrity endorsement to that of the athlete that they pay. A few AI Bots could create thousands of followers for a player and maybe that could tip the scales for the payday.
  12. Awesome. Now we have a 'tank' to go with our 'Jett'. We also have a 'Messiah' to go with our 'Immanuel' And we have a 'Prince' to sing along with our leave it to 'Beaver'. Whom did I leave out?
  13. Wow! "In an effort to keep teams from using their collectives to circumvent the $20.5 million spending cap, the terms of the House settlement state that all deals with "associated entities" (essentially collectives and boosters) have to be for a "valid business purpose" and fall within a reasonable range of compensation. A $1 million deal for a player to make a few social media posts, for example, won't be allowed. "Pay-for-play will not be permitted, and every NIL deal done with a student-athlete must be a legitimate deal, not pay-for-play in disguise," CSC CEO Bryan Seeley said Thursday."
  14. Yes... But I think the problem is that not ALL NIL deals required anything of the sort. They just collected a paycheck and signed the rights to use their NIL away but they never actually had to do anything. I know many Oregon players had to make social media posts in support of a product and that should count.
  15. With this schedule, 9-3 feels like a worst case to me. As in, we have a negative QB situation we will still go 9-3 with that schedule.
  16. He is a Rivals 4-Star, and had offers from Oregon, Alabama, Penn State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Clemson, USC, LSU, etc. etc. I admit to being very surprised at this, as he is from Mobile Alabama, and followed the 'Tide as a fan. Cool!

  19. "Evan won't be spending the entire fall in Miami." I understand there are online classes, but I feel like a University of Oregon student should be required to be within driving distance of the campus. I feel like all universities that aren't "online" universities should at the bare minimum require students to take midterms and finals in a classroom. I get it is 2025 and we have great technology, but there should be some requirements of in person attendance at universities. I know I'm definitely getting old....

  21. Each deal they sign requires the athlete to promote a product or service that is being sold to make a profit rather than just being a vehicle to channel money from boosters to athletes. College Sports Commission loosens prohibition on NIL payments - ESPN Begs the question, if an athlete/student is used in advertising, isn't all advertising to help make a profit?
