Rags to Riches - FINALLY
Dante Moore has finally caught virtually everybody's attention. David Pollack says Dante never blinks and has a resting heart rate of 20. Someone else coined him "THE MOTOR CITY MAGICIAN!!!" Finally, he gets some noteworthy attention. I can't wait for next game.

College Football Rankings: Updated NCAA Top 25 Polls after Texas A&M, Michigan Losses in Week 14
Bizarre!!! While I do not want Oregon in the top 4, oddly enough, it would give them a full 4 weeks till next game. Last year felt like Oregon was a little full of themselves, this year they look like grizzled men in a harsh winter. The scars and bruises have weakened them a bit but taught them to endure such hardships and find ways to accomplish their goal. A la Ohio State last year. 4 weeks would give them a beautiful amount of time to heal up and get the game plan in order as well. Making it only a 3 game journey ain’t half bad either right? Quack!!

College Football Rankings: Updated NCAA Top 25 Polls after Texas A&M, Michigan Losses in Week 14
Wow. I did not think that Oregon could break into the top four unless BYU upset Texas Tech, or Alabama beat Georgia next week. But what really matters, is what the playoff committee comes up with, although these two poll rankings will certainly be influential.

Oregon - Washington Post-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
7 major takeaways from Oregon Ducks' 26-14 win over Washington Huskies It's not hard to imagine the scene behind those closed doors. After going to battle down a handful of starting players on offense once again, Oregon didn't waver and was able to control the game against Washington for four full quarters, ultimately landing the kill shot with a 64-yard touchdown from Malik Benson on a critical 3rd and 9 midway through the fourth quarter, which stretched the Ducks' lead from five to 12 points. Now, the Ducks can look forward to a week off, a chance to get healthy, and a wait as they let the College Football Playoff chips fall around them. Before we get to the coming weeks, though, let's dive in and enjoy this win over Washington. Here are some of our biggest takeaways from the game:

After 14 weeks of upsets, highlights and shake-ups in the hierarchy in the College Football Playoff race, conference championship matchups are set. While Week 14 didn't bring any all-out chaos — Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Ohio State were among the teams to continue rolling toward the playoff with rivalry matchup wins — there were some intriguing results that could have immediate repercussions. The ACC Is A Hot Mess.
Virginia (10-2, 7-1 ACC) will take on (checks notes).... DUKE?! 7-5 (6-2 ACC) Duke?? That legitimately has me at a loss for words. Can you imagine if Duke won?! The ACC could be shut out of the CFP altogether. Yikes! This is a nightmare scenario for the ACC. Y'all sound off below, because I'm absolutely stunned.

USC Buying It’s 2026 Recruiting Class a la A&M
They will not buy him out......the powers that be like him......and the powers that be probably will replace him someday with a female head coach. They are so busy slicing cheese and drinking wine they don't even know what is going on at field level. During the Oregon game, I forget quite a few things but one player charged the Oregon sidelines, one tried to jump over the center during a FG, two missed shorter field goals, about 10 face masks some of which were uncalled, they blocked into the rear leg of several of the Oregon players several times trying to cause injury, several unsportsmanlike penalties at the wrong time for them, Oregon runback showed USC players totally mispositioned etc etc....... What an undisciplined mob! and yet......they are telling themselves that they are improving. A bad joke. They were able to beat UCLA at home by a couple of scores......UCLA just got run off the field by Washington. Wait til they play Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana, Penn St, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Washington, Wisconsin next year. It ain't going to be pretty. Lemon and Lane will probably go pro.

Do We Want a First-Round Bye in the Playoffs?
Fun side note, take a hard look at TAM schedule. Obviously they can’t control which conference teams flame out, but: 4 conference wins against teams that fired their coach mid-season. 2 conference wins against MSU and USC 1 great 1 point win over ND 1 good win against Missouri 3 cupcake home wins 1 loss to Texas Doesn’t exactly strike fear in the heart, and doesn’t make me want to give Texas a whole lot of credit for that win.

Great Defensive Game for Oregon...But the Offense?
Moore tends to be just a little off when you look at his complete body of work. But man, he was far more accurate today when it mattered and the uncharacteristic drops really nullified some very good drives yesterday. I actually like what I have seen from Moore. Sure, he needs to be more accurate, but man, he threw some good balls yesterday, and he was in "control" much more than he had been since the beginning of the year. And this was with the second level ("talentwise") of WRs. I had to go back to last year's Spring Game to remember that Moore would be ok. This year's Spring Game gave me hope concerning the depth of the WRs. That panned out well. I believe the team must work on the mental aspect of the game more than the physical. OBD are about to face teams that characteristically do not beat themselves. We have seen too much self destructive "behavior" from this obviously young group (and boy, have they been productive for being so young). I am very comfortable with Moore however. He is throwing with far more "authority". He isn't "shaky" like he was just a month ago. The guy is starting to "flex". I don't see the hesitation vibe I was getting earlier in the season.

Critical CFP questions
The most important question for the CFP is "How is the committee going to view Conference Championship games?" Some CCG matter others do not- Ones that do not matter North Texas St vs Tulane-If Tulane wins there go in as #11 or 12 but if NT St wins does that give James Madison a chance? It do not matter, only 1 will go. Virginia vs Duke-If Virginia wins they go as #11 but if Duke wins do they go as 12 and Tulane 11? Still just minor changes. Now the big ones OSU vs Indiana-Winner will be #1 but will the loser drop? How far? If it is a blow out does that matter? If OSU blows out Indiana (by 30+pts, highly unlikely) how far will they drop? If they drop to 6 does that drop Oregon to 7 because of head to head? Georgia vs Alabama- Georgia wins they stay in the top 3 but if Alabama wins does it drop Georgia? How far? Now the possible crazy one BYU vs Texas Tech - Tech wins nothing really changes but if BYU wins it gets crazy. With a win BYU is in but does Tech drop and how far? If Alabama beats Georgia and BYU wins does that put Oregon in the top 4? Who gets bumped to make room for BYU? If Alabama loses its them because they are 10 but if Alabama wins then Norte Dame is next out. Now if Kiffin leaves Ole Miss does that give the committee the ability to drop a one loss Ole Miss for a two loss Norte Dame? The Nightmare Scenario I do not wish this on anyone but since it is in the SOP's of the committee I am bringing it up. What if anyone of these teams in CCG has their quarterback get hurt? How far do they drop? Also, do they have to tell the committee how bad the injury is? If so should you lie? (of course they should) Last question, be honest, how many of you loved watching Mario & Sarkisian beg to get into the CFP?

Great Defensive Game for Oregon...But the Offense?
If J Mac's ridiculous catch had counted as it should have, that drive continues and the score may have looked more like what the game felt like. With that said I'll take four field goals by Sappington and all the confidence that comes with them over a padded score.

I say the more rest and recovery the better. The Ducks with a fully restocked receiver room and a rested up O line and D will be as scary as anybody in the playoffs. Count me in.

Do We Want a First-Round Bye in the Playoffs?
Texas is being left out because one of its 3 losses was to a bad Florida team, and the Longhorns melted down in Athens. Texas also struggled to defeat 5-7 Mississippi State and 5-7 Kentucky, which lost to Louisville yesterday, 41 to Zip. A&M's SEC opponents have a combined losing record. A&M could not stop the Notre Dame and Arkansas run games, and it is the only P4 opponent Texas was able to run the ball against. Texas getting in as the SEC's 5th team could happen if the committee moves the Horns past two of the SEC teams it defeated, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. If Texas gets in, I think it will be no lower than the 10th seed. And I think OBD will be the 5th or 6th seed. But ...?

The committee will NOT put three B1G teams in the top 4. Not going to happen. OBD starts the playoffs in Autzen.

Do We Want a First-Round Bye in the Playoffs?
I think people aren't talking about Texas's getting in at all which is a mistake. They are clearly playing better ball right now than TAMU they beat that was just ranked 3rd. How does the committee leave them out? They are a massive draw and are playing as good as anyone in the SEC. It actually scares me a little that there is a possibility we play Texas in Autzen for our 1st playoff game. That's a worst case scenario as a #5 seed if we are being honest.
