The long layoff bug is very real, they need to change the format. But it doesn't appear to be bothering Indiana much (at least after the 1st quarter). I think Indiana is the top team in this playoff (other than Oregon). I'd love to have the layoff bug bite Indiana and play Alabama in the next round, but there appears to be zero chance of that happening.

No. 5 Oregon's Orange Bowl shutout of No. 4 Texas Tech shouldn't overshadow QB Dante Moore's poor playWhile the Oregon defense was simply sensational with four turnovers, its offense left a lot to be desired. The Ducks were 4-of-19 on third down and had 15 first downs the entire game. Fortunately for them, quarterback Behren Morton (18-of-32 for 137 yards and two interceptions) and the Red Raiders offense were even worse, paving the way for a comfortable College Football Playoff quarterfinal win.

Well... I don't think Indiana's defense is going to be any easier than TT's. Next game, if our offense doesn't show up, we'll be headed home.

Our Defense got a lot of help by their QB's incompletions. And I can't fathom why we would continue running into the middle of their defense and also risking Dante with runs, most or all of which did not get a first down. He was limping at one point in the 2nd half. Shaking my head.

Texas Tech's Defense is legit. Texas Tech's offense is a fraud and benefited from a weaker schedule and their defense being elite.

TX Tech has a tremendous defense. On D, TT had many NFL players on the field today. That was an old school LOS battle. The only disappointment I have, the Orange Bowl was not sold out. These two teams deserved Moore, and More.

Which will be the bigger storyline… 1st round byes or B12 weakness?

Bama’s inability to run the ball will catch up with them against this defense.

The way this is all run is pure insanity. I’d like to see two things happen. The first is pushing the transfer window’s start to after the CFP is over. The second is to take control of how players are paid by moving the mechanism out of the hands of NIL and giving it to the schools. From there you would create a salary cap and contracts that could span multiple years (reducing the insanity of the portal). If I had to choose one it would be the second as it would calm down the churn and you’d create some interesting roster decisions as well as create a lot of parity (making a 16 team player playoff a lot more competitive).

Somebody needs to break the so-far 0-6 playoff 'Bye' curse. Perhaps it will be Indiana.
