  2. A random jump into the AI weeds, it does seem like people do break their collarbone and not know it (apparently a lot by falling off their bikes). Initial soreness that gradually increases. 🤷‍♂️
  3. Noah Whittington has proven he can carry the load in big games. Limar just entered the portal. It might be why Harris is sticking around for the week.
  4. Hopefully he is able to stay with the team for the next 2 weeks to keep our depth.
  5. This is the last Covid shirt year I believe... and apparently Indiana has a lot of the few players remaining in their 5th and 6th years. Michigan and Washington both benefited greatly from the Covid shirt in 2023 as they had rosters heavily laden with 5th and 6th years as well.
  6. I'm not going to say it's impossible for that to have happened in the 1st quarter, but it seems highly unlikely that the medical staff would allow a player to play with a broken collarbone.
  7. The top NFL quarterbacks of today are also very good rushers - Mahomes, Nix, Allen, Jackson etc. Dante is not. Great arm, yes.
  8. I can't remember where I read it, but college QBs drafted in the 1st round tend to have a sweet spot of number of starts for success in the NFL. I think the number of starts is between 25-35 for their college career. I think 1 more year would be a benefit to Dante, but having a guaranteed 40+ mil is hard to turn down. I hope the right people are talking to him and show him a long career vs a short career is a better choice.
  9. first and foremost we need a O line for next year.
  10. yeah, Dante not ready at all. Just hope his teammates have enough in them to take home the trophy. Im still satisfied with his overall play
  11. Discipline, execution and maturity are the three qualities that make the Hoosiers a great football team. They're well-coached. They rarely make mistakes and in their second year at the top of college football, never beat themselves. They don't do dumb stuff," Chris Fallica of Fox Sports said on social media. He notes that in addition to being the top seed in the College Football Playoff, the Cignetti's veteran team leads in several important categories: 2nd fewest Penalty YPG Lead in TO margin - just 8 TO all season 3rd down defense - 3rd 28% Lead in 3rd down conversions - 56% To match them, a team has to be not only talented but play a nearly perfect game. The Hoosiers execute with precision in all three phases, and they are assassins in the fourth quarter. Sheesh! Their average age on offense is 22.3 years old. Offense - Mendoza Year 4 - Hemby Year 5 - Black Year 6 - Nowakowski Year 6 - Sarratt Year 4 - Becker Year 2 - Cooper Year 4 - Evans Year 4 - Smith Year 4 - Lynch Year 4 - Michalski Year 5 - Coogan Year 5 - Benson Year 6

  14. Alex's prediction of a game played in the twenties seems plausible, considering how well both defenses played in their previous games. Defending Indiana is a different and greater challenge than defending Texas Tech, however. There has been much discussion of Oregon's offense on another thread. It seems to be me that more discussion of the challenge facing our defense might be worthwhile. Indiana still runs a RPO (run-pass option) offense. What I was able to glean from a quick survey online is that the QB typically reads one opposing defender, usually a LB or safety. The concept is to put the defender in a dilemma: if he plays pass, the box is too light; if he plays run, the short passes are open. There are various ways to defend it, but it appears to me the decision-making of the LB or safety is crucial. I am hoping that Thienemann is the player who is read, but Cig may not oblige us in that way. Often the player read is the weak side LB, which I believe would be Mixon. One Indiana website noted that Indiana's RPOs are much less effective in third and long situations, because the run option threat is not convincing. Joel Klatt also noted that Indiana is good on third down because they are good on earlier downs. To use a baseball analogy, it is important to throw a first pitch strike to this hitter. I am interested to know what the coaches, players and other experts have to say, if anyone has the time.
  15. The biggest reason for him to stay is to not end up with the Raiders or the Jets.
  16. I believe there suppose to be an updated injury list coming out sometime today. Let’s hope this is not true. 🤞
  17. And pertaining to the article? Agreed...limit the sacks! Thanks Alex.
  18. It's all over Twitter that Davison broke his collarbone. Not sure when, but most people are saying it happened in the 1st quarter of the Orange Bowl, which doesn't really make any sense.
  19. Help is on the way for the 2026 Ducks, and some of it is already hereAutzen ZooHelp is on the way for the 2026 Ducks, and some of it is...Oregon ranks 68th in Red Zone conversions this season; Indiana ranks 17th. The Ducks are 27th in converting third down at 45.7 percent while Indiana is No. 1.
  20. So far I haven’t seen any report on a possible injury. Where did you see it, maybe I can look further into it. Thanks AnotherOD
  21. This thread is not the official prediction contest that we have each week. It will not be up as a Pinned Post until Thursday, and all predictions on this thread do not count because I am not looking them up later. Got enough to do!
  22. Ten years...heck even just five years ago moving on to the NFL-Heavy as soon as you could possibly get drafted, was the goal. Grab that "💰 bag" before...you couldn't, or had to "settle" for a smaller bag o 💰. NIL has significantly changed this mantra. Dante, his family, and even his agent have all spoke to the "positive" of Dante coming back for another year. So the advantage of returning is definitely part of the discussions regarding his future. I also believe this to be his best path for long-term football success. Apparently top QB's in NFL-LITE are now making money similar to rookie contract for similar positions in the NFL-HEAVY. (starting to step on some toes in the league?? Careful NFL-LITE!). If your being drafted by a cellar dweller in the NFL-HEAVY as the "franchise" QB, the GM's are Expecting that drafted. QB to become that exactly....right away! Dante definitely has that potential but absolutely will be closer to a franchise QB with one more year playing in the top competitive conference on the NFL-LITE, rather than being thrown to the (defensive) wolves on a crappy team in the NFL-HEAVY. Let us all hope that regardless of OBD winning its first Natty, Dante comes back for the "polish" he will need to be another Duck QB success story on the NFL-Heavy. GO DUCKS! GO DANTE, lead us to that promised (Natty) land.
  23. Ducks 27-24 2 TOs 2 Sacks 298 Passing Yards
  24. If so: Next Man Up! Even with portal losses...this Oregon team is deep! With the exception of Dante going down I feel fairly confident, especially our RB room, that we can "cover" any playoff injuries, better than most. GO DUCKS!
  25. Indiana's.LEGIT! Senior laden class (many who followed Cignetti to Indiana a couple years ago) vs. a freshman laden group anchored by senior "trench monsters" for Oregon. I think this will play out similar to the game at Autzen where defensive/ball control offenses move the ball but struggle to get points on each drive...until the fourth quarter where all bets will be off and DL and the CIG pull out all the stops to get the victory. The team who's players execute those "stops" will move on to Miami. That being said. OREGON WINS! 24-23 (Sappington hits the "game winner" on Ducks last possession) 2 T.O. 2 SKS. 234 Pass Yds Now let's go get that NATTY!
  26. Some conflicting information about a possible injury in the RB room that would make some sense of this report. Don't want to jump the gun here, it just is out there. 🫤
