C'mon....Admit You Were Surprised With the Game...
From what I saw, it was directed at OBD. They're last TD was pass interference. The WR pushed off. They also didn't earn that First Down at the 22 on that third down play. They should have been forced to go for it on 4th and 1. I was not pleased with the refs. It's like a conspiracy to prevent us becoming a blue blood. Something else though... ESPN noted we traveled back east twice before playing Indiana. Not sure that contributed, but OBD didn't look themselves against Indiana. I want pleased with the performance, but the two late INTs and said ref calls above decided the outcome. One thing I really appreciate about Lanning is we won't see many lethargic performances. You can tell he wants some more of Indiana. Not to mention Ohio State. There plenty to work on, but I'm hoping to see some major intensity against every team in the vicinity of our talent level. I have only seen that it Seattle. I want to see OBD play any elite team with that kind of intensity. I think OBD can stick with any of them if they play clean and hard.

Wisconsin Uniform Reveal: 'Grateful Ducks!'
MaybeI won't come home with the munchies, like the few times I managed a concession stand for GD converts.

C'mon....Admit You Were Surprised With the Game...
Great take, but hopefully, it's a 16 or 17-game season? Yesterday, Whit was It!

C'mon....Admit You Were Surprised With the Game...
By now I probably shouldnโt be, but Iโm always surprised at how good the mottos are that Dan comes up with every week. Need a game day tee that says, โTime To Pay The Rentโ.

As always, itโs what inside the uniform that counts, but they do look pretty cool. Just keep on truckin, like the Doo-Dan man!

GAT! Don't Wipe That Smile Off Your Face ๐๐๐ Billy's Gone
Did Joni Mitchell have the domino-driven effect of firing college head football coaches in mind when she wrote โThe Circle Gameโ?

I think Fisch would be the best choice. And I'm not just saying that for the Husky tears, though that too. But honestly, I think he is a great coach and he has connections and probably understands the environment better than most. He can also adapt to get it done. Kiffin would be fun. Franklin I think needs a year off. The difference in how Penn State played yesterday was starkly different from the games post Oregon loss. Like someone cleared the room of the toxicity. Franklin became toxic at PSU after the Oregon loss I'm sure. He's a good coach and will find a spot but I don't think Florida is going to go for someone who has a reputation of losing the big games. Just my takes. I bet they go for Kiffin or someone flashy don't snub Fisch... If I were to place a bet at this very moment.

GAT! Don't Wipe That Smile Off Your Face ๐๐๐ Billy's Gone
I think guys like Luke Fickell or Scott Frost will serve as a cautionary tale going forward. But there will always be those programs that will always get a guy to pick up the phone and probably a raise. Penn State and Florida are two of those jobs. The resources and prestige that goes along with the recruiting base is going to tempt anyone. Oregon is now one of those jobs btw. Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia, LSU, Texas and USC are in that category.

GAT! Don't Wipe That Smile Off Your Face ๐๐๐ Billy's Gone
The minute the Gator AD heard Franklin say he was gonna win a National Champioship somewhere, i think HR and legal started drafting the termination papers for Billy. Franklin has all the ingredients to return to the SEC......why not at Florida? He is a step up from Napier for sure. Billy will land on his feet, afterall he is a good coach. Go Ducks! Beat the whiskers off Whisky.

James Franklin -" We're Going To Win a Natty Somewhere"
I know most of us, most even too young to remember Steve Spurrier, have that as the "Florida Guy". We want offense, we want brashness. We want a guy that gets mad when he is up by thirty five and there is a field goal allowed. Steve was our first ever Heisman winner, and he's the one who led Florida to it's first ever National Title. Florida was kind of in the same boat Oregon is in now. Always good, sometimes great, but they just couldn't get over the hump until 1996. I was a kid and that team made me a Gator fan for life. It truly could've been FSU if it were them that smoked Florida in that Sugar Bowl. I had family and friends who went to both schools. Are we delusional in thinking you have to have a huge personality to win at Florida? Probably, but it's in our DNA. It's like the first car you owned, or the very first time you went on a date. The first sticks with you. Kids growing up today will remember the first time Oregon wins that first title. They will associate that coach and that system as the way it needs to be done going forward.

Surprised that Lanning still refuses to let Davidson and Hill run the show as lead backs for this team. They are so good.

Completely awesome, I actually want some merch.

GAT! Don't Wipe That Smile Off Your Face ๐๐๐ Billy's Gone
I donโt think Brian Kelly is working out in Baton Rouge. FSU and USC could open up as well. There are going to be some traditionally good programs fighting over coaches. I think the days of taking their pick of coaches are over. I donโt see many of these guys moving from a good situation to a rebuilding job with impatient administrators, fans and boosters.

Franklin was in the SEC at Vandy. If I were him I would be calling Florida to tell them I can be there for cocktails this evening and let's make a deal. His payments from Penn State could give Florida some flexibility for Napier's severance payment and other cost factors. Will be interesting to see where d-coordinator Jim Knowles ends up. FSU's Norvell can't be feeling too comfortable today.

James Franklin -" We're Going To Win a Natty Somewhere"
If Franklin goes to an SEC team, he can win a title. I doubt Florida picks him up. Sorry GAT, but your fan base is too deluded to give him a chance. But he would recruit very well ther and pick up a QB, which outside of three, he really didn't have. Penn State just sold themselves to mediocre status in my opinion. We'll see who they hire, but I'm not holding my breath. They just joined Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa as "has been" contenders. Franklin at Arkansas is intriguing. But I think they pick up Bobby Petrino. Franklin can turn Va Tech into an ACC contender for sure. I'd wait a year if I were him. Pick up that $50M and take a hard look at what really works for him. Not to mention, another SEC team like Kentucky may be in store for him. That's the kind of team he can build into a respectable nemesis.

New Poll Out & Billy Napier is Fired
The NewPac gets a second new head coach: Jay Norvell fired by Colorado State joins the termination at Oregon State. As time passes, the New Pac will resemble Fast Eddy's Used Car Lot. There will be a lot of browsers looking to upgrade their head coach with a low mileage used model. Along with the terminations like Bray and Norvell, there could be a lot of annual turnover. Boise State will likely take advantage of that with a coaching staff that has less turnover and program turmoil. That should be Oregon State's aim too. Run that low mileage son-of-a-gun hard, and hope you can get 3 or 4 good years before you have to buy a new model.

C'mon....Admit You Were Surprised With the Game...
The best surprise is no surprise. Go Ducks. I was surprised that Brock Thomas came in early and played respectfully good QB. He had composure and sound fundamentals. It also surprised me that the Ducks showed as yet unseen formations and used a few โtrickโ plays against Rutgers not keeping them under cover until hunting bigger game.

Wisconsin Uniform Reveal: 'Grateful Ducks!'
I thought the whole top should be tie died green and yellow. Having seen The Dead 20 times or so several at Autzen, Hult Center and Mac court I was hoping for more. Enough with all the black! It's not a school color.

Wisconsin Uniform Reveal: 'Grateful Ducks!'
The first thing I thought of was Bill Walton. He would have loved it. Of course, he would have loved it more if the whole jersey was tie-died. It would have turned Bill into a Ducks fan.

Oregon - Wisconsin Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
More from the Badger's side Luke Fickell's day of reckoning is nigh but Wisconsin Badgers fans must have patience

New Poll Out & Billy Napier is Fired
Iโm personally a fan of chaos for UW. Iโm also not convinced there is any guarantee Stein will be a good HC, itโd be a calculated risk imo. That being said, my guess is UF takes a run at Kiff and DL, but ends up with Drinkwitz.

The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
Novosad has been listed as "questionable" on the pre-game injury reports for several weeks. Some type of muscular issue in his back. Moga, I have no clue. As I suggested yesterday, there may be some type of "agreement" with the coaching staff to preserve as much of their eligibility as possible in the event they want to portal. While they agree to stay on the roster in the event of an emergency. On the other hand, some game film would help their chances to be picked from the portal? While they aren't playing future opponents don't have much film to scout. If Moore returns the absence of in-game experience for the two is less of an issue. But, if he doesn't return, you would think Stein would want to see them under-fire before 2026?

The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
SD has been toxic for years, but not quite the cesspool that OregonLive used to be.
-
New Poll Out & Billy Napier is Fired
Do we want that? At first I did, but then we might lose Stein to Seattle, and that thought revolts me, but it is a great job. They used to think highly of Jonathan Smith at Washington when he was their OC years back...

GAT! Don't Wipe That Smile Off Your Face ๐๐๐ Billy's Gone
Steve Spurrier said there were three steps that any Gator coach had to complete to be a success. 1.) Win the state- That means recruiting and beating FSU and Miami. 2.) Win the SEC- Obviously that means beating Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU. The traditional big three rivalries which will now change as the Florida vs LSU rivalry will not be protected. 3.) Compete for National Titles- You gotta do the first two before you can even contemplate the third. Well maybe not anymore, the playoff opens up the chance for programs like Alabama and Ohio State to win the title without winning their league. I still think all three would be the goal every year. Florida hasn't won anything since 2008, so there's going to be a process. I think the program is going to go after a proven P4 head coach this time. I think Jon Gruden would be an interesting choice to go along with Kiffin, Fisch, and Franklin. Will Wisconsin, South Carolina, North Carolina, and FSU soon follow suit? Probably not a great time for Arkansas, UCLA, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma State to be looking for a proven P4 coach imo. Arkansas and UCLA might just stick with Petrino and Skipper.
