Charles I humbly disagree with you. At some point a young qb is going to get overwhelmed. Trying to guess who is going to be successful out of the portal isn’t sustainable imho. Who remember Dakota Prukop? Hythloday at addicted to quack has been screaming since Pregnon transferred in that every team that has started three transfer linemen has seen significant drop off in their line play. Isiah World hasn’t been getting it done since Northwestern. Yes Dante had his issues, but if he had 1.5 more seconds to set his feet, or if the outside run game was just a little more consistent. We are having a much different conversation. Go back and watch the film of our tackles, especially against Penn State. It might change your perspective, it certainly changed mine. I know coach Terry can get em improved going forward. It just cost us one game. Those are the breaks. Here’s hoping the picture clears on what this team is and isn’t. Highly agree. But fans and donors get impatient and expect the impossible these days The changing financial landscape of college football has insured hat their will never be another Alabama dynasty. Saban saw that and got out early. At Georgia, there are people beginning to wonder if Kirby Smart has lost his edge and even speculating about who would be the best fit if and when the time comes to part ways with the best coach Georgia has ever had. This is nuts, but I now believe that Kirby will tire of the sniping and be gone in another 5-6 years at most.

All credit to Indiana, but this "big" game didn't seem to elicit the same type of energy at the Whiteout game, or the game last year with Ohio State. Maybe I'm wrong, but perhaps this top ten matchup was just bigger on one side. Oregon was the proven commodity, they were the brand and the power that held the crown. I only caught a little bit of GameDay, but I heard the Oregon crowd booing the mention of Ohio State more than Indiana. The loudest boos were aimed at McAfee when he trolled the crowd and picked Indiana to win(correctly unfortunately). Perhaps I'm wrong, but maybe Indiana wasn't given the amount of respect they've earned. As long as Cignetti is there I think they will win, and he has no reason to leave. He's older than Lanning, Day, Smart, and even Dabo, so he has a long history of success. Just Google or ask him 😂.

Boise State and Gonzaga have been misled into thinking they are finally joining a conference that provides them a real chance to compete in a power league. It's a real shame the Big 12 wouldn't take Boise and the Big East couldn't take Gonzaga.

I did think it was interesting that near the end of Canzano's interview with OSU AD Scott Barnes, Canzano asked, "what can you offer a new head coaching candidate?" Barnes replied that "we are in the top quartile of resources at our level." So, perhaps, maybe, Barnes is no longer attempting to sell the new Pac as a Power 5 conference. I hope Oregon doesn’t do that to Dan Lanning if he ever gets 3 losses in a row! That would just about be too much for me to handle. This win at all costs attitude is absolutely ruining the sport. I keep coming back to: IT IS A GAME! Played by kids. Every game has a winner and every game has a loser. ALWAYS! To think your team will win every game all the time is just ludicrous.

I think we might have been fine if we didn't have a bye. Teams that have lots of experienced players and leadership tend to do better because they can be more disciplined through the bye than teams that are younger. Bye weeks are physical rest weeks but should be double mental weeks.

Couple quick comments: The UCLA Moore showed up because he had the UCLA O-line leaking like a seave! Six Sacks! Who saw that coming? This is NOT on Moore. This was a TEAM loss. They were lethargic all afternoon. They were out played and even got out-shouted by the opposition between the 3rd and 4th quarters. For whatever reason (over confidence, reading their own hype, trap game let down, bye week blues) OBD did not show up on Saturday 10/11/2025.

Perhaps Coach Lanning was trying to build up Dante’s confidence. You could see how much the Penn State victory meant to him - he broke down in tears after the game in Coach Stein’s arms. I think UCLA completely broke him and our coaches have been trying to build him back up.

Sorry to hear about the rough week David. Hope you’re feeling better now. I knew right after the Penn State win that I was VERY glad OBD had an extra week to gather their emotions. Evidently, it wasn’t enough.

The 2007 and 2012 NYG, 2023 Texas Rangers, 2014 UConn Huskies, 1986 Villanova Wildcats and 1983 NC State Wolfpack would all agree. I should also add that a football team with a OK offense and a great defense always has a chance. The 1986 Penn State Nittany Lions, the 2000 Oklahoma Sooners, and 2002 Buckeyes will vouch for this take.

I mean I could feel a bad game coming. I just wasn't looking forward to a game like I usually do... Nothing scientific about it... Just felt it in my gut. Also... Last week I couldn't really walk as I had a foot wound and then I got COVID... And now I'm sick again. Wound is healing well so at least I can walk. But something about it all just didn't have me feeling it was going to be a good Saturday. Also my 3 and 1 year old daughters were just melting down all day before, during and after the game..

I had the same feeling which is why I predicted an Indiana victory in the prediction contest. Too much talk about the winning streak at Autzen and Indiana’s losing against top ten teams. This is a team with very few returning starters who just came off an emotionally taxing win in Pennsylvania. The difficulty they experienced on Saturday didn’t surprise me. It somewhat reminded me of Oregon’s response to beating a highly ranked Michigan State team in 2014. They barely beat a bad WSU team the next week in Pullman and lost to Arizona at home two weeks later after a bye. That team responded and never lost again until the national championship game. I think we have the coaching staff to help keep these players pointed in the right direction.

I love how "fans" have praised Stein's offense for wins but now are posting/perpetuating his offense after a loss! If you're going to be critical, be that, but don't two-face your criticism after a loss! The team is good. The O line has been an issue for two previous games, Northwestern and PSU, but the win made it better! With a loss we have people saying the OC is to blame?? If you believe in your own hype, another team will knock you down a peg, which is poison. As a fan, if you don't pull the rose-colored glasses off, you will be swallowed by the hype. We have a very good team but injuries and the hype poison will affect every team. Learn from the loss and become greater!!

Does having tablets on the sideline change your opinion at all? It's all right there to show and share with the QB one-on-one when he comes off the field. That was a Rose Bowl-like pasting. Yet, the Ducks had the lead late, and the defense allowed Mendoza, following what could have been a devastating pick 6, to drive his team 75 yards to the winning score. The same late letdown on D that allowed PSU to tie the game. Is the defense in 'game shape '? Is the problem with where the coach is positioned or with not making adjustments to a plan of attack that was failing? I'm reasonably certain that Stein on the sidelines could see on the tablet and on the field of play that his offense was flailing and failing. From the sideline, the box, and the bleacher seats, why all of the substitutions at running back? Why not a change in the plan of attack? Lanning was spot on postgame. Lanning and crew were outcoached before the game and in-game. As Cignetti noted postgame, this was not the first time his teams have won big games on the road. But it was the first time Cig posted a big win in a B1G game that the nation noticed. Cig and friends won the bye week. Last season, Indiana was outclassed physically at Ohio State and Notre Dame. Indiana's composite roster is ranked in the 70s; Oregon's is ranked No. 5. But the LOS failures against last season's national champion and runner-up were masterfully addressed and corrected via the portal. Cignetti and his associates have been together for a long time. They have far more game planning and in-game experience than Dan and his assistants. Intriguing question, friend Solar, but I don't think it would have made a difference where Stein was located on Saturday. After all, he was on the sideline with the same QB and information at hand when the offense rolled Montana State, Oklahoma State, and Oregon State. To date, we haven't seen the same performance out of this offense against three B1G opponents.

I wanted to write this post prior to the Indiana game this past Saturday, but I didn't want to jinx the game. Due to a family function, I only caught the opening series for each team but the game had an eerie feeling from Indiana's first sack on the first play. Even prior to the Ducks running out from the tunnel. The low energy, the grey clouds, the lack of fire, the poor prep from the first snap - everything seemed off. This weekend was the two year anniversary of our last regular season loss - by far the longest streak in college football and longest streak in Duck history(?). Our Ducks now have one regular season loss in the past two calendar years. In this day and age, bad football games happen to even the best teams. What Oregon has accomplished over the past 24 months in the regular season is close to impossible. Let's take a look at what the very best in college football have accomplished in the last two calendar years since the Ducks last lost a regular season game on October 14, 2023 (all regular season losses): Oregon - 1 loss (#3 Indiana 20-30) Ohio St. - 3 losses Texas - 3 losses Georgia - 3 losses SMU - 3 losses Memphis - 3 losses Alabama - 4 losses Mississippi - 4 losses Notre Dame - 4 losses Boise State - 4 losses Miami - 5 losses Missouri - 5 losses Penn State - 6 losses Indiana - 6 losses Tennessee - 6 losses LSU - 6 losses Texas A&M - 6 losses Michigan - 7 losses Washington - 7 losses BYU - 7 losses Clemson - 8 losses Arizona State - 8 losses Illinois - 8 losses Oklahoma - 9 losses South Carolina - 9 losses This loss to Indiana stings! Coaches and players have a lot to learn from it. Maybe we do, too, as fans. However, there has never been a better, more prosperous time to be an Oregon Duck fan. Let's fight like crazy to finish 11-1 and start another long streak!

How many of the sacks did Dante have the ability to just throw the ball out of bounds? Is he trying to save his completion percentage? That contributed to being behind the sticks by more yards. Those are bone head plays that have to be corrected and can be easily.

From a Buckeye fan perspective, you guys will be fine. You’re still talented enough to win the conference and win the national championship. I’m a fan of your coaching staff also. Take it from me, you just have to be hot at the right time!

8 sacks and a lot of hurries by Dante. That speaks volumes. Lots of reasons for that stat, as many have pointed out, but that's a helluva tough hill to climb for any team.

Should be sued by the departed members for NIL theft. Overall record is 3 - 10. The only guarantee is that they will go .500 in intra league play. In looking at how the websites list the conferences, there are the usual suspects BIG, SEC, ACC, etc. Then there are the Independents. I think the PAC should be listed as Depends(ents).
