  1. This game is still more nervous-making than i would like.
  2. I would say the Ducks are not playing up to “the standard” on offense.
  3. It feels like the gap should be more than 15 points.
  4. This is one of the moments I live for as a not-very-good sports fan: a season is a journey, and right now, right now, we have nothing but the fairest of winds and unlimited sunshine. Enjoy the voyage!
  5. Maybe the new defensive coordinator will put an emphasis on defense.
  6. Desert Duck, I am with you once again. During the 1st quarter of the Cal game, I was sensing the type of contest that would have unwound previous Ducks' teams: freak turnovers, rain, uncharacteristic errors, penalties. I thought it could be one of those heart-breaking games we've gotten used to. But, no way. The players and coaches seemed to simply put all that aside; they maintained their confidence, shrugged off all the distractions did what they knew they could do. It was all business, with no shakiness to be seen. So now, I'm sipping the Kool Aid, not yet guzzling it. I'll save that for after a PAC championship.
  7. Today's game is going to be broadcast in black and white. The color cameras were repossessed.
  8. I'm with you. I, too, suffer from PTDS, or Post-Traumatic Duck Syndrome; all the what-ifs, the almosts, and the should-have-beens keep me from really jumping up and down as much as I should. That, and I'm old.
  9. Anyone see his number, or hear his name? I sure didn't.
  10. Ducks getting the national TV love right in the heart of Saturday afternoon. Take that, East coast bias!
  11. James is doing some nifty punting.
  12. Whittingham knows field goals won't cut it today.
  13. Great OL play, great play calling, great execution: let's bottle that and pour it out all day.
  14. I think he meant they've been stealing all the USC signs from the crowds on Game Day.
  15. Totally agree with this. In my eyes, Thompson has not shown any signs of greatness in the limited time he has gotten. In fact, the signs are mostly of not being ready for the job, sad to say. Seems like a great kid, but unless he's a real late bloomer, I don't think he's the guy. I'll hope for late blooming.
  16. The Trojans aren’t winning big football games, but following USC football is never boring. And, that is what's important in the L.A. attention economy, that people are talking. I'm with Haywardduck and am going to hold off on the trash talk until after November 11th.
  17. Win, and the butt-ugly uniforms will be forgiven. But, they sure are butt-ugly.
  18. Sometime soon, when it's clear that without Caleb Williams, USC cannot win much in the BIG or recruit anyone to LA, the AD will either have a late-night tarmac meeting with Lincoln Riley, or Riley will fail upward to the NFL. Then? USC will make the natural USC move: they'll hire Deion Sanders. Who cares about the buyout? What's money to USC? It would be a match made in heaven and the perfect fit, a triumph of the attention economy. Think of the clicks! fyi: I'm only half-kidding.
  19. Fitting that the one USC poster doesn't even know that Utah's coach is named Whittingham, not Whittington.
