  1. Here in Portland, spent 52.5 hours without power, with outside temperatures below 20 and a roaring wind. Really a drag. Now, we get ice this afternoon.
  2. It's a whole new world out there, and Paul Finebaum is not going to like it. I love it.
  3. For me, the best part of that video was Lanning saying (and I'm paraphrasing here) "college football is changing quickly, and we're ahead of the curve here". That...a thousand times that. Change, with respect for the past, is at the core of what Lanning brings to Oregon. Lanning is young enough to not be entrenched in the old way of coaching, recruiting, hiring, relating to players and families. He's media-savvy, extremely on-line, and good on tv. He is also honest, and modest. Maybe he kicks his dog, but I doubt it.
  4. But, Nick seems like such a jolly fellow to have hanging around.
  5. Take that, Alabama! Big fat NO!
  6. I say he ain't going to Tuscaloosa. And it will be yet another data point in the ongoing collapse of all the entrenched narratives about college football, about the so-called blue bloods, the top jobs, the path every coach must follow. There are now more places to succeed than the Paul FInebaum world view wants to acknowledge. Oregon is one of them and Lanning knows it. He has a place where he can create his own legacy, instead of having to live up to someone else's achievements. Alabama is no longer the holy grail; coaches can say thanks, but I've got my own deal going. So, I say Lanning is staying. Unless I'm wrong.
  7. I feel strongly that he's either going to take the Alabama job, or he's not. One of those two. For sure. And, I have inside sources for this.
  8. Yabba dabba doo!
  9. Good for him! Play football, live in N'awlins, eat great food, listen to fabulous music...everybody wins.
  10. Great news... Oregon WR Tez Johnson announces his return for 2024 season 247SPORTS.COM Oregon received more good news on Thursday morning with Tez Johnson coming back.
  11. Is the enemy of my enemy my friend?
  12. A little bit like asking which of your children is your favorite.
  13. Lanning certainly is smart, but so are a lot of people. The difference is that he seems, for a young guy, to be pretty wise. And there’s a huge difference between smart and wise.
  14. How are scholarship limits playing into these decisions?
  15. Mario beat DeBoer when DeBoer was at Fresno State. Not really a good comparison, IMHO.
  16. I'd have to re-watch to confirm, but I swear I saw #3 go on, then come off, the field before Liberty ran their first play. I was wondering at the time if Dorlus was hurt.
  17. Has Dickey gotten any snaps yet?
  18. Sensing a change in the game dynamics here.
  19. Liberty's O-line is pretty good.
  20. Hmmm...not what I would call a good start.
