  1. Totally agree with this. In my eyes, Thompson has not shown any signs of greatness in the limited time he has gotten. In fact, the signs are mostly of not being ready for the job, sad to say. Seems like a great kid, but unless he's a real late bloomer, I don't think he's the guy. I'll hope for late blooming.
  2. The Trojans aren’t winning big football games, but following USC football is never boring. And, that is what's important in the L.A. attention economy, that people are talking. I'm with Haywardduck and am going to hold off on the trash talk until after November 11th.
  3. Win, and the butt-ugly uniforms will be forgiven. But, they sure are butt-ugly.
  4. Sometime soon, when it's clear that without Caleb Williams, USC cannot win much in the BIG or recruit anyone to LA, the AD will either have a late-night tarmac meeting with Lincoln Riley, or Riley will fail upward to the NFL. Then? USC will make the natural USC move: they'll hire Deion Sanders. Who cares about the buyout? What's money to USC? It would be a match made in heaven and the perfect fit, a triumph of the attention economy. Think of the clicks! fyi: I'm only half-kidding.
  5. Fitting that the one USC poster doesn't even know that Utah's coach is named Whittingham, not Whittington.
  6. Well, sure, but his house has 12 bathrooms, an elevator and a 600-bottle "wine room". Totally symbolic of the USC approach to life.
  7. I just stopped by to say that USC losing would make my evening.
  8. That’s 3 penalties on Cornelius.
  9. Not doing any such thing. Just saying he may be a little over-amped and it could affect his decision making.
  10. I would like to see Lanning, if he can do it, amp down his in-game personality. When I see his eyes bulging, and his teeth clenched, and his jaw jutting forward, I see someone who may not be in the best frame of mind to make calculated decisions. Just my cheap psychological observation.
  11. Lanning may have the Mario gene.
  12. Is this 911? I think I’m having a heart attack. j/k
  13. You know, this is quite a game.
  14. I hope the players are calmer than me. Fans may get more nervous than players because fans are absolutely helpless when it comes to influencing the game. Players can at least hit someone.
  15. New-weasel is absolutely the worst. A clear case of failing upward.
  16. The cookies 'n cream ice cream uniforms...I love 'em!
  17. The intervention by UW and the other nine schools indicates to me that there must be some value to whatever remains of the PAC's assets. The ten schools wouldn't be doing this if there was no money involved. And, it's not just Washington picking a fight; the other nine schools have filed a friend of the court brief supporting UW's argument.
  18. Sources close to the Miami program tell me that Mario had been binging Game of Thrones again, and had been telling the team all week that like the Targaryens, the Hurricanes never bend the knee.
  19. From that saturdayoutwest.com article: Three plays later, on a third-and-5 where Williams fired incomplete, Arizona linebacker Justin Flowe ran right through Williams and drew a roughing the passer penalty. MarShawn Lloyd ran the ball in for a touchdown on the very next play. I saw that play, and Flowe was totally out of control in creating a most stupid penalty. Some things don't change.
  20. Canes fans are feeling it: He’s ******* OL coach and recruiting coordinator.. that’s all.. He has no business being the HC. The "fire Mario" movement is strong on the fan sites.
  21. Yup, this is the year, one to savor one drop at a time, because these stars will not align again this way for quite a while.
  22. Even Wilner, usually a major Duck skeptic, agrees with you, David. He has Oregon at the top of the PAC, saying the Ducks are the conference's "most complete team".
