  1. The coach you don't have is always like the backup QB who doesn't play, the most popular person on the team.
  2. The Ducks O-line offered AB outstanding protection all game long. Young players are stepping up admirably in response to so many injuries: Bassa, McGee, and more. 11 players caught passes. DuRuyter responded really well to Chip's game plan after the 1st quarter. Moorhead went right at UCLA's weak point, the defensive back end. I actually liked the uniforms.
  3. Man, after reading some of the comments, I gotta say that some of y'all take college football way too seriously. It's a game, played by kids, for our entertainment. Sure, we love getting into the details, and watching carefully, and learning about the game, and it gets emotional, but c'mon, cool down. It's just a game. And, getting angry and hyper-critical and demanding has absolutely no effect on how the team plays, no matter how important we think our voices are. This is supposed to be fun, isn't it?
  4. It's interesting that the booing has become national news. That likely means booing is not happening at the 120-something other schools in NCAA D-1 football. Which means, to me, that there's something different about Oregon fans: entitlement, inflated expectations, lack of awareness, whatever. But, whatever it is, to me it ain't pretty. I watched Iowa get absolutely killed by Purdue and there was not a boo in the stadium from Iowa fans. So, go ahead, Autzen fans, and boo your 6-1, 10th ranked team. It's your privilege. But, it makes you look class-less.
  5. "I should trip that sucker".
  6. The O-line gave AB outstanding protection today, all game long.
  7. Somebody pour some cold water on my optimism. It's dangerous. Lewis missed the PAT?
  8. AB is now 20 of 27 for 230 yards. If he stays on trend, he'll get even better as the game goes on.
  9. Before you fire DeRuyter, notice that it's only 14-7. There's a long way to go.
  10. It's a cliche´, but the internet has allowed us to become our worst selves if we want to be. I certainly can be. On the forum though, I always try to write as if I were in the room with everyone else, face to face. Anonymity and the lack of consequences are, for many people, the curse of the web.
  11. Since I majored in Reverse Psychology, I'm going to try that on myself, and go pessimistic, hoping the reverse will happen. Or something. UCLA, 42, Oregon 35, 0, 2, 208
  12. Good piece on Division Street, it's relationship with U of O, and the still-murky waters of NIL.
  13. The "youth" issue on offense is not the age and experience of the starters, it's all the young blue-chip talent that is not playing. Only at TE have recent, highly rated recruits seen much game action. The QB, OL, RB and WR receiver talent is still mostly under wraps.
  14. Agree completely. Next year and 2023 are the seasons to get excited about.
  15. Jahlil Florence had his official this past weekend, and was in Autzen to watch Cal. It appears that the booing did not register with him, as per 24/7. “I love the fan support and game atmosphere, that was the highlight of the trip for me, You can tell the fans love Oregon football..." So, based on a sample size of one... BTW, he said he is 100% committed and will enroll in January.
  16. Good to see, especially glad to see JoMo back. And, good to see he cut off that beard; he was starting to look a little Duck Dynasty (if only that were not a tv show, but an Oregon program description).
  17. In a Ted-Lasso-in-reverse move, LSU is going to hire Jose Mourinho
  18. Prediction is very difficult, especially if it's about the future. - Niels Bohr
  19. After watching a day's worth of college football, I've seen a boatload of puzzling play calling, poor quarterback play, lousy tackling, and questionable clock management. It all ain't happening just with the Ducks.
  20. If you think the Ducks are offense-impaired, you should watch Iowa. I've seen good parts of a couple of their games and their prevent offense makes Oregon look like a pale imitation. Lots of (all?) teams have issues, not just Oregon. Hell, neither LSU nor Florida could play defense worth a lick.
  21. Arizona holds open tryouts mid-season. Good grief. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/13/sports/ncaafootball/university-of-arizona-football.html
