  1. Oregon State rushing offense 67 yds - (42 yds - 1st quarter) Oregon 36 yds - total vs Tex Tech 140 yds - total vs Fresno St 68 yds - total vs Cal Oregon rushing defense 67 - Oregon St 178 - Northwestern 144 - OK State 46 - Montana St
  2. Clemson drops to 1-3 with the loss to Syracuse at home. Clemson was No. 4 pre-season AP poll.
  3. Why the Beavs called time out before the last TD play? 6-5, 318, Duck, Gernorris Wilson was in as eligible No. 35 and Oregon State calls timeout with the Ducks in a full set. Ducks then adjusted the play and Davidson scored.
  4. Oregon State rushing offense 42 yds - 1st quarter Oregon 36 yds - total vs Tex Tech 140 yds - total vs Fresno St 68 yds - total vs Cal Oregon rushing defense 178 - Northwestern 144 - OK State 46 - Montana St
  5. Kesean Bowman, a five-star 2027 receiver from Brentwood Academy, has decommitted from Oregon football, Bowman's mom, Moe, confirmed to The Tennessean. Bowman, who is being pursued by Tennessee football coach Josh Heupel, had been committed to the Ducks since July. Bowman, a 6-foot, 174-pound junior, was teammates at Brentwood Academy last season with former four-star quarterback and Tennessee freshman George MacIntyre. Bowman visited Knoxville for the Georgia game on Sept. 13 and told The Tennessean this week that he was planning other visits to Texas, LSU, Miami and Vanderbilt this fall. Bowman initially picked the Ducks over Tennessee, Ohio State and LSU. He is the No. 2 player in Tennessee from the 2027 class, No. 6 receiver nationally
  6. Dec. 7 - Oregon vs Penn St Dec. 21 - Ohio State vs Tennessee Jan. 1 - Oregon vs Ohio St
  7. Bemidji and Minot will face each other on Sept. 27. Even if both lose Sept. 20, the 0-fer Beavers would come to an end.
  8. I believe Haloti and his wife have 3 sons. Ages 16 (TE and OLB), 13 and 11. The 16 year old has offers from Utah, BYU, SDSU, Colorado St and Osewe.
  9. "...if any conference is known for tough offensive lines that bull for rush yards...it is the B1G, because they have to in order to compete. Even weak teams will move the ball on the ground.." Let me provide an example. In Iowa's first two games they had 46 first down attempts. Could have been after a kickoff, after receiving a punt, after a turnover, after stopping the opponent, after being successful on the prior 2nd or 3rd down, whatever. On those 46 first downs, they ran the ball 34 times. I don't know what Northwestern's ratio was on Saturday but it seemed to me they were trying to grind out sequential short-yardage runs to maintain possession by starting with a run. I suspect the Ducks are going to see that from most opponents as the season progresses. It is the Big Ten DNA. And, if game video makes it look successful, opponents will revert to DNA. It becomes very tiring for a D-line. And, as the clock winds frustrating for fans of the defense to watch. It is one reason why there are relatively few high scoring conference games...peck, peck, peck, first down, peck, peck, peck, first down, peck, peck, peck...
  10. "...last time these players would have played at 9am was peewee football" I believe the West Coast Four are 2-3 in 9:00 am games so far starting in 2024. 1-1 UCLA 0-2 UW 1-0 Oregon
  11. "66 players participated. I think 74 traveled" In addition to the 6 RBs with touches, I believe Whittington was on the sideline.
  12. Most recent travel estimate: 2:40 pm PT wheels up in Chicago 6:40 wheels down in Eugene The Beavers are still in a weather delay in Lubbock which will mean a later arrival back in Oregon than they planned. Next game for them isn't at home, but down the road about 43 miles.
  13. Hughes? The box score has him with 1 carry for 5 yds. If I counted correctly, 66 players participated. I think 74 traveled. 5-96 Hill 11-39 Limar 3-25 Harris 4-8 Davison 1-5 Hughes 2-1 Riggs 2-5 D. Moore 1-2 Moga
  14. 166 yds of NW’s 313 came on NW’s last two drives In the last 11:27 of the game: 9 plays 75 yds, 3 plays 91 yds With a 34-14 final, Ducks do not cover the spread. Would have at 34-7,
  15. Whittington traveled, but was listed as questionable in pre-game. This game is typical Big Ten football. B1G may put up big offense non-conference, but the slog begins in the conference. That first drive by Northwestern was like watching Iowa with short runs on consecutive plays and bleed the clock. Keep the game close. Hope for opponent mistakes. Win it in the fourth quarter. All these B1G teams will have physical lines on offense and defense.
  16. During the west side rebuild of Reser Stadium, the construction crew diminished activities during the season, and no fans sat on the west side. There was still enough seating for about 28,000 during that 2022 season which was 10-3. They had 1 loss at home to USC. They did play Montana State in Portland. And, beat Boise St,, WSU, Cal, Colorado and Oregon in Reser. That was a unique situation. Typically, games continue during construction when it is the endzones, but Oregon St had the west side shutdown. They did a pretty good job of orchestrating the seating, concessions, safety for fans, etc. I'm not sure what a similar scenario would be at Autzen...how much would north side construction impinge on endzone seating? Also, the construction timeline because I imagine Oregon's plan would be to add more "suites" on the north side, and how much time would that aspect of construction add to the timeline. 10-3 was Jonathan Smith's best season in 2022. Mike Riley was 10-4 in 2006. Since then: 8-5, 5-7, 0-2...
  17. "Dream on St. Nick" Nick Saban co-owns nine dealerships as part of Dream Motor Group. These include seven Mercedes-Benz dealerships, one Ferrari dealership, and one Infiniti dealership, located in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas. Headquarters Hoover, Alabama. He claims that he is pretty hands off on the business, and lets his partner run it. As a control freak that he is, I can't imagine. But, it may have helped in his primary recruiting territory: Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas...:)
  18. "My question is what happens to the level of Nike involvement,..." Penn State and Tennessee are switching to Adidas joining Texas Tech, Nebraska, Kansas, Louisville, NC State, Mississippi State, Washington and Grambling State. To me, that means less competition for a relationship with Nike. If Nike is still interested in college branding, there will be fewer schools to consider. Oregon will be on a shorter list.
  19. couple comments 1) Getting into the Big Ten WAS a big deal. PK well understood that and was doing what he could, and WAS rebuffed a bit, to try to offer that Pac12 off ramp to the Ducks. It is a big deal, not only for annual funding, but ongoing public consciousness and publicity. Being in the B1G may be bigger long-term than facilities? 2) All schools have big donors, some are just bigger than others. Jerry Jones, Arkansas; Mark Cuban, Indiana; Red Combs, Texas; Boone Pickens, Oklahoma State....just to name a small few. But, they generally were/are interested in funding capital projects that will be assets for many years after they are gone. Some make donations for a facility maintenance fund to ensure their longevity. The goalposts have moved a bit due to inflationary operating costs and NIL, but the positive positioning from capital projects is still important. 3) Will there potentially be a step-back without Knight? Aside from being a major donor, he has a presence within team activities that still resonates. Think about how many recruits post photos with Knight if they can get close enough to him to do so. He is Nike. But, he is also Yoda for Oregon's Star Wars facilities. Once he is gone, I don't see someone that fills that spot. (Matthew McConaughey, Will Ferrell, Shaq, Larry the Cable Guy??...come-on, not even close)
  20. I read elsewhere that Lanning said Hughes was in for run play calls, then QB Moore checked out of the run play to a pass play due to defensive alignment. Perhaps that makes sense if Montana State was aligning on defense for a run once they saw Hughes substitute in. The Ducks had 39 rush attempts for 253 yds, 25 pass attempts (19 completions) for 253 yds. Don't have the down and distance prior to Whittington's 10 rush attempts, or Hughes 1 attempt.
  21. One of the sports books: + 300 – Tommy Rees + 400 – Glenn Schumann + 500 – Lane Kiffin + 700 – Kenny Dillingham + 800 – Deion Sanders + 1200 – Jimbo Fisher Other familiar names, not limited to, but were high odds including +4000 Dan Lanning, Ryan Day +5000 Kirby Smart, Dabo Swinney, Sark
  22. The dollar amounts come from the same source. The writers who cover who is sleeping with whom in Hollywood. The most attractive starlets get the most pub and the highest level of conjecture about how they are able to get the juiciest movie roles. The actresses left on the roadside blame the "system" and everyone but themselves. Roadside coaches deflect and pass along rumors of "offers" in the same way.
  23. By the way, that On3 column posted by NJDuck is a good perspective to read. Who would replace DeBoer? Winning coaches include Dabo Swinney, Brian Kelly, Ryan Day, Kirby Smart, Marcus Freeman, Lane Kiffin, James Franklin, Dan Lanning. Would any of those guys jump? Especially with a big money offer? IF, the money issues could be worked out....I can see Cristobal jumping. Sark?
  24. Writer Ralph Russo No. 21 Alabama’s latest stumble dropped the Crimson Tide out of the top 20 for the first time in 17 years. The Crimson Tide stayed in the rankings at No. 21 despite their first opening-game loss in 24 seasons and extended their streak of poll appearances to 280, the second longest in history behind Nebraska’s 348 from 1981 to 2002. Still, Alabama reached a new low under second-year Kalen DeBoer. Alabama was last unranked at the end of the 2007 season, Nick Saban’s first with the Tide. Alabama began the next season 24th, blew out Clemson in its 2008 opener to jump to No. 13 and stayed in the top 20 for the next 16 years. Even during last season’s inconsistencies, Alabama was never ranked lower than 17th. Alabama was one of four top-10 teams to lose to start the season, but the only one to an unranked opponent. Bama lost to an unranked team for the fourth time in 14 games under Saban’s replacement. Optimism for Alabama started up front. The Tide brought back enough talent and experience to make a case for having both the best offensive and defensive line in the nation. But the Seminoles, after yet another portal-heavy rebuild by coach Mike Norvell, ran all over Alabama and stuffed the Tide’s running game. Coming into this season, the Tide ranked second behind Georgia in 247Sports’ talent composite rankings, which measures the recruiting stars that make up a team’s roster. Since the website started doing the talent composite in 2015, only two teams ranked in the top two have won fewer than 10 games. Last year’s Alabama team went 9-4. Me...will be interesting to watch Alabama's season. Often during Sabin's tenure opponents were mentally defeated before they hit the field. If some of those SEC opponents now sense blood in the water, the confidence boost may make for some interesting games. And, if DeBoer is lured into some dumb decisions by a "hot seat mentality" then that could add to it. The away game schedule is manageable: Georgia, Missouri, S. Carolina, Auburn. Home games: Vanderbilt, Tennesse, LSU and Oklahoma.
  25. Hughes single carry came in the Ducks first possession of the third quarter. Oregon was leading 38-6. None of us know if Hughes was offered an opportunity to be a "feature back" prior to his transfer. But, from a season planning perspective, seeing so many guys get reps (78 participated I believe) and get some game experience does have value. A lot of RBs touched the ball. Which I would rather see in a game like this one that being on the field with in-experience in a tight game due to sudden injuries of "feature backs." It may also add value in recruiting to have so many guys get reps.
