  1. Oh man, the Fusky fans on their forums turned on DeBoer REAL fast.
  2. Well this is unfortunate news for Fusky fans this morning. Sources: Washington's DeBoer, Bama negotiating head coach job - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Read more on ESPN
  3. Former Texas A&M receiver Evan Stewart commits to Oregon WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM A five-star prospect in the class of 2022, Stewart was ranked No. 11 overall and No. 2 among receivers in the...
  4. It seems now the top 3 candidates are DeBoer, Norvell, and current Alabama OC Tommy Rees as they are all reported to be scheduled to interview soon (if not already). Report: Kalen DeBoer, Mike Norvell, Tommy Rees to interview for Alabama head coach position WWW.ON3.COM . I just checked the Fuskie forums, they're pooping their pampers over there lol
  5. Yikes, who would want that 100 foot shadow hovering over them all around campus?
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if this is very close to what happened. Alabama's under tremendous pressure to get the "right" hire very quickly (literally within a couple days). He was likely on a video conference with the UA AD listening to their pitch for a couple hours and when they finished he promptly turned them down. He had to make a fast decision and he made it with little to no hesitation, pretty impressive to me.
  7. Watching Joel Klatt’s emergency podcast about this. He makes some shrewd guesses on what the most realistic candidates are for the Alabama job. Per his order: 1. Sark 2. Lanning 3. DeBoer He points out that Sark had really great history as OC under Saban and that the old man actually talked about setting him up as his successor until the Texas gig opened up. So Sark is the first phone call they will make. But given his current success with the Longhorns he’ll ultimately turn it down. Lanning would be phone call number two after Sark declines and Klatt thinks it’s a fifty-fifty shot of him accepting. He’s part of the Saban coaching tree and showed he can build a great program in only two years as a HC. But as we all know, he’s got a great thing going here and a young family that loves Eugene. Does he really want to be the guy that follows the GOAT? If Lanning declines then the next call is DeBoer. No connection to Alabama obviously but they respect his ability to win everywhere he goes. Here’s the interesting part Klatt points out: there’s been contract extension talks for weeks now but nothing has been signed. Guess who DeBoer’s sports agent is? Jimmy Sexton. Guess who’s Nick Saban’s agent? Jimmy Sexton.
  8. Oh I'd be surprised too, DL has everything going for him here at Oregon and the same for Sark at Texas. I'm just pointing out that the most likely "long shot" hire would be Sark given the proximity to Alabama and that he was also a successful OC under Saban. DL was just a graduate assistant for 1 year there so I doubt there's a really significant emotional attachment to the Tide program.
  9. Realistically given the expectations at Alabama they would need to pull Kirby or Harbaugh. I don't think either of them would take it right now, which leaves the next sensible candidate being Sark. He's middle aged, coached at Alabama at the past, and just had a CFP appearance.
  10. Pete's 72 years old. I think he's just exhausted and wants to ease into retirement with this advisor role.
  11. Agree. There will be absolutely no patience for a transition period and expectations of nothing less than a national championship right away. It's a spot that's set up for failure.
  12. I'm not worried about DL leaving. He's expressed multiple times publicly and emphatically that he's happy at Oregon and has no interest in leaving. He's also said he's tired of moving his family every couple years and just wants to settle down. He knows what he has at Oregon and the kind of name he's building for himself.
  13. Did an injury affect his performance? Maybe. But OBD and Texas didn't pressure him nearly as much as Michigan did. In particular, Texas often only had 1 defender successfully penetrate the pocket, which Penix evaded easily. Harbaugh had multiple defenders coming at him successfully from multiple directions all game long. I think something like 16 or 17 out of 50 plays had QB pressures...by the 4th quarter he was constantly looking over his shoulder wishing he had grown eyes in the back of his head.
  14. I saw the same characteristic in Vernon Adams. He and Bo not only thrive under pressure but I think they love it because they're gamers, they want to be in those situations. Definitely ice in their veins!
  15. We've actually seen this over the course of the season: Penix doesn't do well under pressure. See the ASU and OSU games. When he's well protected he's able to throw some uncannily accurate darts to receivers, with good distance to boot. But he's only done that in a clean pocket and time to read the field. As soon as the pocket collapses he kind of freaks out and goes all wonky with his decision making and accuracy...I'm very sure NFL scouts have noticed this even before Michigan game.
  16. They should give UW some of those pre-printed 2024 Huskies National Champions t-shirts so they can wipe their tears.
  17. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pennx cracked a rib or two. He got pounded hard.
  18. This is what I noticed with them. They get really amped and temporarily over perform against Oregon. But that doesn’t appear in any other game, you can tell by all the close scores they got lucky on. Apparently the prospect of winning a national championship isn’t enough to get that kind of juice flowing. Kudos to Michigan, they played a really tough, disciplined defense.
  19. I was literally typing mid sentence that JJ should pull the ball and run then he does it.
  20. Under these scenarios I think it’s safe to say at large CFP teams are likely to have 2 losses. Maybe even 3 once in a blue moon.
  21. Fuskies aren’t going to make it if they give up another 200 rushing yards in the 2nd half.
