Ducks Move Up To No. 8 In CFP Rankings
If OBD wins out they'll be either 6 or 7 with the possibility of sneaking in at 5 depending on how the chips fall.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
It all started with both safeties were caught staring at the QB and not their surroundings.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
That was a garbage interference call.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
Too many DBs staring at the QB. Someone should have been following that receiver on the long pass.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
Tosh has the defense dialed in. Pulling the DBs up and daring Iowa to pass the ball.

There we go! Excellent run blocking, go Hill!

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
Jamari Johnson might be the key for the offense. He can both block and receive.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
Dante completely missed the open receiver in the far corner of the end zone.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
I’m ok with that as long as OBD guts out a win. Winning ugly is far better than losing.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
Ugh we really can’t lose another receiver like Gary.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
And just like that, the run game set up a great pass play.

Discussion Thread Oregon v Iowa
Looks like Stein is adjusting to use the run. If the RB room averages 5-6 yards a carry (perfectly reasonable) then they can control the entire game.

So What's the Offensive Game Plan Against Iowa?
Probably. They used Wilson at RT last time they moved Harkey over to RG when he was struggling.

“Midseason” Verdict?
Oregon's right at where I thought it would be before the season started. I was expecting a 2 loss season and a spot in the CFP so they're on schedule. Most of the inconsistency comes from new starters (young or old) that either hadn't started before or are starting for the first time in Oregon's systems. Consistency comes from experience in one place....that's why the OL is good but not great, 4 out of 5 guys are new and haven't really had that much time as a collective. Most of them will be gone after this season so the next will likely also be inconsistent. Multiple years in the same positions on the same team is the biggest factor for consistent performance.

Iowa Game Starts at 12:30 PT
That definitely is a boon to play at a time that is easier on the players' body clock, especially after flying across the country.

Smoo Beats The U!
Carson Beck is getting fed up with the Miami coaching staff. You can read between the lines that the offense is being run the same as when Mario was at Oregon, no room for players to create just do as you're told. Saturday Down SouthCarson Beck throws shade at Miami coaching staff after lo...The Hurricanes' quarterback clearly believes his team held itself back during Saturday's defeat against the Mustangs.

Just Maybe, OBD Are Better Than We Think!
Yeah that's the question mark. When Dante first committed I was pretty stoked because I felt he was the most "experienced" of the top 5 QBs in that class since he had started all 4 years of high school. So maybe he would've been ready after a year of sitting behind Bo or maybe not. The only benefit of that time in UCLA was that it forced Dante to realize that he needed to re-evaluate the way he was making choices and that holding a clipboard for the first year wasn't a bad thing. Probably a touch of hubris that caused him to think he deserved a starter role right out of high school, which obviously isn't uncommon among blue chips.
