While I'm glad he's finishing his career at Oregon, I'm not head over heels excited. He's proven to have a limited ceiling and has similar stats as Brendan Schooner... he'll be a veteran presence to maybe teach the younger some things but I don't expect him to start or put up any record breaking numbers.

David brings up a great point about the old Oregon regime, they literally aged out due to the rise of technology (social media). That put younger and/or more adaptable coaches who were more hip to the new communication game at a huge advantage. This also contributed to Oregon having better recruiting classes later on as that tech makes the world feel much smaller, allowing recruits feel more comfortable about flying across the country to a place like Eugene.

Aaron Donald is a special player, not many like him. Really big defensive linemen also need to be mobile. Otherwise they become a liability against dynamic/fast-paced offenses, of which there are plenty nowadays.

I wince every time I see something like this as I was a proponent of expansion. Pulling in those SW/midwest teams would have greatly benefited the conference in so many ways...

Would've been nice to have him join Oregon, his size would present all sorts of issues for defenses as a receiver. That being said, WR/TE is less of a concern right now than other areas of need or higher ranked possibilities like Connerly.

Kayden Proctor has included Oregon in his top 7. Obviously it's still early on but we can definitely see the inroads Dan Lanning's staff is making in next year's recruiting. Everyone loved how Mario could bring in top end talent but loathed how he developed/utilized it. Plus it's weeks until the Spring game and months until the start of next season so we're all going to be looking at recent history given the dearth of Duck news for the foreseeable future.

Just further evidence that while Coach Mario could amass talent, he completely under utilized it. What a waste...

That particular Alamo Bowl was a nightmare come to life. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I can't recall who was the backup center but I distinctly remember him constantly snapping the ball way too high, making an unbearable situation even worse. If the snapping were consistent, I think Oregon could have clawed their way to a narrow victory in regulation. Oh well...

They won the last 6 games of their season including their bowl game, I think they probably have it figured out.

Should be interesting to watch. Obviously an SC fan would be excited by Caleb but getting an awesome QB doesn't fix their soft OL. It'll be pretty tough for them to get double digit wins if he's constantly running for his life all game long.
