Coaching Carousels
Beavis hired a guy that may have been fired if he stayed and Alabama lost the Iron Bowl…and might have been on the chopping block anyways. Funny how much they once again try to copy us but can’t quite get it right. Saban adjacent does not equal Saban tree.

It's UGLY: Candidates for Oregon State HC Keep Dropping-In-Droves
JS was 7-17 his first two years at Beavis in what I would say was a more favorable situation (at that time), then he faces now. Beavis went 4-5 in conference his second year which was apparently good enough for 2nd place in the north. He was 34-35 overall at Beavis, and a not so great 24-31 if you throw out the one year they won the Vegas Bowl. Before the vacated wins, he was at 8-15 to date in year 2 at MSU. Pattern? Beavis really tried to pump themselves up as a big time program (as one would expect) as the conference crumbled, but it really was the same pattern of the last 30 years. One legitimate PAC contending team every 10 years or so. Not exactly great numbers.

Impossible for that many G6 teams to make noise, especially from the same conference…but I admire your enthusiasm.

Lanning Interviewed by Canzano
I never thought of him as a Beavis honk as much as a driving narrative to preserve himself honk. My lack of regard stems from how frequently he’s just flat out wrong with his “scoops”. I swear I have better connections than he does.

Coaching Carousels
Wilcox has had a very solid D most of his time at Cal with pretty mediocre talent overall. He really had their D humming at an elite level, then cratered in the immediate post-pandemic world, but had built it back up. In the 2024 season, the Cal defense ranked 14th in scoring defense, 2nd in turnover margin, and 23rd in sacks nationally during the season. At Cal! Now he wasn’t DC, but it’s clearly his trademark. I think he’d be an upgrade personally.

Yikes! Oregon Beat by San Diego State 97-80
For me, we’ve been mostly borderline unwatchable since 2020, we just don’t play a modern brand of basketball imo. My expectation every season, was/is/and continues to be 12+ losses and being on the bubble. I’ll continue to watch, but we don’t seem to be very serious about basketball overall. If we’re cool with the above, it is what it is. Love me some historic Dana, but I’m not sure about 2025 Dana if we want to ever actually pursue a title.

Funny how becoming DC for OBD could make it wane.

I’ve heard that’s a no.

Give Thanks! Rivalry A/K/A Hate Week Is Here
Cascade Clash is even better than “they” realize: In the folklore of the area's Indigenous peoples, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Hood are cast in significant roles within myths about Mt. St. Helens. One common legend describes the three mountains as being involved in a love triangle, where the two warriors (Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams) fought over the beautiful maiden Loowit (Mt. St. Helens). Another tale from the Cowlitz tribe tells of Mt. St. Helens (Lavelatla) becoming jealous of Mt. Rainier (Tahoma) and knocking off its head.

I'm Rooting For Ohio State...
I’m with you. Just pointing out there are some pretty big pluses in the macro if we somehow make the conference title game. I’m personally not in accounting with the athletic department, so windfalls don’t really get me anything selfishly. The path with a home game is probably the easier path with the current format, so that is 💯 what I want!

I'm Rooting For Ohio State...
Also, occurs to me that with the new seeding format a 3 game post season path is now possible. Conference champions aren’t guaranteed anything other than entry into the tournament. Say all goes to form, UI beats tOSU and we beat UW handily…pretty good chance that at 11-1 with our only loss being to undefeated 13-0 UI, that could land us in the top-4.

I'm Rooting For Ohio State...
All good points, but define “helps us”. The conference potentially getting 4 teams in the playoff would definitely help us financially and with recruiting versus the SEC for conference supremacy narratives. That being said, in the here and now, conference championship games are a penalty if you’re already in as an at large host. Either path leads to being 4 games away from a championship, (up to 5 more (!) if you lose the B1G game), but one of those paths includes a home game Pretty sure I prefer the path with a home game and a cap of 4 more games.

Chip is Available
Funny, in Beavis fan sites they don’t want to include him in their search cuz they’re being super selective 😂 Loved Chip’s time here, but we can go ahead and cross him off the list for any potential openings imo…oh, and cross off Brooks and Bellotti while we’re at it.

Sounds on brand for Cal.

Coaches Poll: Oregon Moved UP....??
Yeah, I believe we’re in against Indiana if tOSU loses and everything else goes as planned. Whole lotta rivalry games this week, could get crazy.

Ruh-Roh! Do You Think Trojans Are GOOD SPORTS After Losing to Oregon?
Definitely. I was underwhelmed by their QB. At times, their offense consisted of throwing up 50/50 lob shots to 3 NFL receivers.

Coaches Poll: Oregon Moved UP....??
Not that I want or expect it to happen, but probably gives us some more hope of making the playoff if something flukey happens next week. Lot of football left to play, we could still back into the conference title game as well. TOSU has had a pretty soft schedule since the opener, and Michigan will have a chip on their shoulder, wouldn’t be shocked if they punched the Bucks in the mouth and won again to crash the playoff.

Penn State Targeting DeBoer
I lived on the border of SEC land (NC) for 5 years and can relate to the bubble and general nuttiness. It’s pretty insane imo, that someone like Lane thinks he needs to jump to LSU or Florida in 2025. He has more money than he can personally count…and they’ll give him more. He’s built it up so he probably is getting about as good of a year to year roster as he can expect to get anywhere else. The only reason to leave really imo would be to go back to your alma mater, or if he and his family actually didn’t like living there. You can do all these things anywhere and still need some luck for it to all come together in a particular year.

Ruh-Roh! Do You Think Trojans Are GOOD SPORTS After Losing to Oregon?
Time for my favorite pics when talking about ancient football things! The fact the two pics are 50 years apart (and that might not occur to somebody) only underscores how irrelevant these ancient things are.

Ruh-Roh! USC Fans Don't Like Oregon....Who Knew?
The fact they know we exist shows how much we’ve risen and they’ve fallen. They’re aware of the age of our CB’s? I couldn’t name a single player on the USC D.

Guard Stein and Lupoi From....Beavis?
In defense of 🤡, if they can even get whiff of Stein that would be the best hire possible for them for so many obvious reasons. Reality check, high end P2 coordinators don’t typically leave for G6 programs, especially in 2025…would be completely insane given the current demand.

Guard Stein and Lupoi From....Beavis?
The delusional and willing ignorance continues. I actually saw a conversation on one of their sites where someone said, “hard pass” concerning Stein. He’s not up to snuff ya know .

ESPN Analyst Calls Oregon Ducks a Fragile Team' Due to Supposed Late Game Struggles
Silly. A team (🤔) that went 2-7 against opponents they were on par with or exceeded for spending per player on their roster, yet still manage to keep choking, THAT is fragile. Fragile teams don’t win on the road.
