  1. My biggest issue would actually be the guarantee of two teams for the ACC and B12. SEC and B1G are pretty much guaranteed getting 3 each with a field that simply takes the top 14. Two spots reserved for the ACC and B12 will result in some 8-5 team making the field one day soon, which is just stupid.
  2. I would guess we’re pac12 until we aren’t. Maybe the remaining 2 will sell the rights for whatever they can scrounge up.
  3. So I assume spring games will still be on the P12 network? Awkward.
  4. Yeah same. I loved them when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s. After seeing the mini-documentary during the SB I remembered why I liked them and decided to go back.
  5. Given I pledged to return to being a Raiders fan again this year no matter what, this would please me!
  6. I don’t think calling for Altman is completely ridiculous. For me, this was the year to make the top 68 and look the other way on the past two seasons because of injuries. How many years of ridiculous injuries does it take before we start to chalk it up to more than bad luck? I wouldn’t fire him yet, but I hope that he retires after this year. A 4th year of no tourney, regardless of why, would be the breaking point for me. Making the field is a minimal bar for success. EK was great, until he wasn’t.
  7. Worst thing that can happen is a return to apathy. I was really into the team when they were good, was actually going out of my way to watch every game I could, even when it involved a terrible streaming situation. Now I’ve completely quit paying attention. Stay the course if you’re cool with back-burner women’s hoops.
  8. I would guess that a practice facility is the priority because it helps with recruiting which provides an immediate return on investment. This was also in the works prior to conference transition. Takes a pretty long time for a 9 figure expansion by 12,000 seats to turn a profit, and I’m not sure how much recruits care if the capacity is 66k instead of 54k.
  9. All about amateur status no longer being a concern for college or Olympic athletes.
  10. Can’t wait! Though confirming participation when the release states everyone that plays FBS football will be participating makes it seem like not much of an additional release.
  11. All this pac2 nonsense about access is hilarious. Neither have ever been remotely close to making the playoff to date, their real concern is continued access to unearned money. Those future earnings are about to dry up unless they actually succeed on the field in a sustained fashion. Pound sand pac2.
  12. Good call. Worked out better in every way and it’s not like he left after 10 months.
  13. Fun stuff! UCLA - Over - That seems very low. They actually played very solid D last year and would be surprised if they didn’t have a decent spring portal USC - Over - Ditto on being low, if the D was exactly the same as last year that’s a good number, don’t think it will be tOSU - exactly right. I think they’ll go 10-2, but wouldn’t bet money on that number, total coin flip at 10.5
  14. I hear you, but three straight years of the exact same scenario makes me question talent identification, development of players, conditioning program, and questionable “4th quarter” adjustments. We shot 10% from three against a terrible team last night. We only won because they shot 11%.
  15. We shall see. I know they have a history together, but this is a total role-reversal of that relationship. Coaching chemistry and relations with players matter more than ever, and they have disrupted themselves twice. I would call it a direct reaction to losing to Michigan 3 straight years and Day is feeling the heat. tOSU was one TD away from 12-0 and they’re letting Michigan live in their head rent-free. Be exactly like us making changes directly because of losing to UW 3 straight.
  16. Good stuff! I still call this a knee-jerk, borderline panicky over-reaction by tOSU. Their only problem last year was Michigan was better and they lost a close game on the road. That calls for overhauling everything? Making significant, optional changes to a team that went 11-1 in the regular season? We’ll see how smooth an unneeded transition goes.
  17. I believe the SEC is finally switching to 9 conference games in 2026
  18. Good stuff. Michigan will have to see what happens with the spring portal and potentially significant sanctions. Their transition was a little late in the academic-calendar and created an incentive for players to potentially wait.
  19. Yep, they’d still leave in a heartbeat if someone (even the ACC) wanted them…which is why they can go sit and spin with this ridiculous narrative.
  20. The Wave and other mysteries. What about shaking your keys on kickoffs? What does that even mean? Why does WSU play the Jaws theme? Why does our band still play fanfare from episode 1 of Star Wars?
  21. Seems like Action Network speculation and this is “one of the options”. I won’t hold my breath on this one. Really makes no sense at all that teams playing in 4 different conferences would somehow have a pecking order for a group of crappy bowls to select from. Why would we, or our new conference agree to this? If the pac2 wants to pretend to still be a conference and can’t fulfill their contracts, that’s their problem, not ours. Let’s play this out. UO and USC both go 10-2, one of us ends up #13 and doesn’t make the playoff. Everyone would be cool with UO or USC playing in the Holiday Bowl on behalf of the pac2?
  22. This defines giving up on contender football. They’re happy to be a hoops school that is usually bowl eligible in football.
  23. Can slice it any number of ways…injuries, recruiting busts, etc. For me the bottom line is failing to make the tourney 3 straight years when the conference hasn’t been very good. 68 teams make the tournament. Cracking the top 68 every year should be a minimum expectation, and that hasn’t been met. Imagine if the football team didn’t make a bowl game 3 straight years. Making a bowl game is a bit easier, but finishing in the top 68 in hoops should be a pretty minimal standard at a place like the UO. I think it’s a combination of poor talent evaluation (star chasing), roster construction, and not adapting offensively. We’re not very tough, and when you have 3 straight seasons of massive injuries, I start to wonder if it’s more of a trend than bad luck.
