  1. The format works out nicely for OBD. Previewing Oregon’s Big Ten Tournament path - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM The Big Ten Tournament gets started at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday. The No. 4-ranked Oregon Ducks...
  2. I'm truly sick of Notre Dame, so sick that I'm saying, "Yay, USC!" In all the formats for the CFP it's, "The conferences and Notre Dame". They have their own network deal??? This is a step forward, I'd love it if the format was being built and Notre Dame was told, "You want to be included, join a conference."
  3. If not Oregon who? Herbert, Nix starting, Mariota backing up Daniels at Washington in the NFL, a QB room as deep as any in the country at Oregon, while the top ranked high school QB's are still signing up to be a part of it.
  4. The Harbaugh's thought it applied to them when they said, "Who's Got it Better Than Us?" Well, nobody has it better than Oregon fans!
  5. It sure felt like a curse after the grand slam in the 1st, but The Jane had had enough of that! Whatever it was that Lombardi and the team summoned to take that GS, before they even came to bat...the game would have been a great movie! and Stanford,
  6. So far, Oregon hasn't broke the bank going for a player, neither has Ohio State or Georgia. The U got Beck, now this with Cantwell? A great lineman is great to have, but what about the other 5 that need to be studs to make the line work?
  7. "Where's Waldo makes more sense, but this is definitely a summertime prediction for good ol' Connor.
  8. Let's give it up to Washington, they're a Rowing school!
  9. Everything Hayes wrote in the article is true, (though the format was wonky), those 3 games in December might as well have the college Playoff games on the CW. I don't know if Saban is up to making that call to Goodell, but something needs to happen.
  10. The Winner Take All game started like the Rose Bowl did for OBD. But softball wouldn't be denied, of course a B1G difference was, this game was at The Jane! I don't know about Stanford's softball venue, but i KNOW it doesn't rock like The Jane does. Paige Sinicki wasn't going to lose, neither was fellow Senior, Dezianna Patmon. After a great game, "Instant Classic" is inserted, it fits here. The Ducks started off down 4-0 before their first at bat. The pitcher in the circle that had toyed with them the game before, and Grein and Sokolsky were still searching. Then, as if a grand slam wasn't enough Economides blasts a 3 run homer over the fence, then the Ducks' all B1G freshman 1st base, Rilee McCoy goes down. Not enough.
  11. Now, losing to Georgia definitely is a Good loss, but that's what Day did in the '22 Peach Bowl. Mario and the prevent offense went into the 'shoe and beat the Buckeyes. Michigan beats Ohio State. Ohio State won the Natty last season and made up for the loss early in the season at Oregon. The Buckeyes had more talent than any other team in the country, the added schemes came from Chip, not Day. Day wins when the talent level is overwhelming, but he's not Phil Jackson.
  12. Wow! Stanford stopped scoring after the 3rd inning, hard to win that way! So many heroes, Chambers comes in and shuts Stanford down, Cox regroups after her drop. Luchar sisters are just incredible, Sinicki was not going to let a loss to Stanford at The Jane be the way her career ends! No. 16 Oregon walks off Stanford 10-7 to advance to Super Regionals - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM Oregon softball has talked all season about taking strain from each other and playing for each other. With an injury to its RBI leader...
  13. As the saying goes, "Give me Liberty, and a Super Regional."
  14. I can't think of another win that had me as happy immediately as this one, against Stanford! A grand Slam in the 1st? Then she hits a 3 run homer, and our All-B1G10 first base gets creamed by a line drive? It didn't look good, folks. But Lombardi, maybe it's just coach speak, "They never give up". They sure didn't
  15. The Luchar sisters back to back in the lineup worked, and they field too. McCoy stopped being a freshman a long time ago. But will the Ducks have an answer to Houston?
  16. You know, a case could be made, so I will. Day to me wins because, when, he has superior talent. Franklin apparently wins with far less talent. Coaching" Franklin> Day
  17. "The Jane" more than holds its own in Oregon facilities and venues.
  18. What is it with formats and OBD when they get the No.1 Seed????
  19. No doubt. I can't, though I'm trying, to say enough about Coach Lombardi. She was fine at Oklahoma, would have eventually been the head coach. Instead, she leaves that to come to an Oregon program that was just rocked, and it was anything but a smooth transition. Now, the team took a hit, literally, against Stanford. Maybe they pull it off, win 2 and move on. But if they don't, Lombardi and the Ducks will be back next season.
  20. But. What if the Michigan St. Coach does a Lanning...and goes for it, believing that they can get by Nebraska with their No.2, but need No.1 to beat Oregon?
  21. It's better to be projected in the Super's rather than not, but by all means OBD, go ahead and win the thing! As for facing Beavis, my thought has always been to deal with difficult as early as possible. Now, after beating the Beavs 4 straight, the law of averages goes against the Ducks...So
  22. 1 game at a time as the saying goes, win the first game today the momentum is back for the Ducks...of course who knows when Stanford will have Houston back in the circle.
  23. Not that it takes a genius to see this, but very classy for a coach of one of the premier football teams to speak about the issue. Very little has happened,” Smart said. “It just shows you how hard it is to make changes and correct things, probably when they’re needed, because … people have talked about Congress. That’s not easy. Not a lot gets done quickly there and where we are right now. Like, I think every coach agrees we’re in a good place with being able to compensate players. Call it pay for play, call it NIL, I don’t care what you call it. “We’re all in a good place for that. We just want it to be in a way that’s sustainable. I just want to be able to have a freshman come in and not make more than a senior, and I’d like for other sports to be able to still survive. We’re on the brink of probably one to two years away from a lot of schools cutting sports. What’s the pushback going to be then when you start cutting non-revenue sports? I don’t want that to happen.” l
