  1. Thamel claims that Iamaleava has "reputational damage" I think now UCLA does too.
  2. "haunted" definitely isn't the right word for me either. As losses go, the Rose Bowl was pretty easy to get over. Howard admitted that the L to Oregon, actually, the 2nd in a row, stung. That was a sign of respect that OBD will never get from Washington...yeah, I'm thinking of the classless 70 put on the Ducks because Oregon had the gall to beat UW 12 times in a row.
  3. Every day it seems more reasons come up to make every Oregon football fan not only "love" their coach but respect him too. The Heupel/Tennessee situation is the latest and won't be the last. Of course, when a coaching job opens up, whether in college or the NFL, Lanning is going to be on the top of the list. But I'm as sure about Lanning staying at Oregon, "until they ask me to leave" as I am that the water in the ice cube tray, I just put in the freezer, will turn into ice. Taggart & Cristobal both talked the talk, and we remember what that sounded like. Lanning doesn't sound, or act, like either of them. I hope he isn't too "haunted" by the Rose Bowl. The losses always leave bigger impressions than wins. But he has a lot of wins. It would be irresponsible to go into 2025 saying that the team will be better than it was in 2024. But the opportunity is there for a fantastic season.
  4. It's a mess. Back in the 70's when Curt Flood wanted to play for a different team, he took legal action and free agency was born, The difference is that this was professional baseball, and there are rules. Baseball doesn't have a salary cap, teams, players work around that by deferring payments. The NFL does have a salary cap, and it works, though every year players renegotiate their deals. Now, Iamaleava wants to renegotiate, but with no guidelines or structure, it's beyond tricky. This can't make him look good, but Tennessee, nor any other school, wants to get the label of being unreasonable, unyielding, with players.
  5. That team, and the years before it was so good. Udria was my favorite, Mack, the slap hitter. The element about those teams I'll always remember was whenever a team, tied it up, or somehow took the lead, the next inning, the Ducks set it right again. '17 probably would win the series between '25. But that just says how unbelievably good they were.
  6. My Aunt Mary could come up a Top 150 that would have as much gravitas as this one. It isn't even good click bait. If he wanted to be noticed he'd have had Smith out of the top 25.
  7. I'm all in on staying far, far away from Iamaleava, Moore, or Novosad, should be QB. No.1. I also get that a home grown QB would be the best. But, with Addams, Nix, Gabriel, it's hard to say that going transfer just won't work. Tyler Thompson stayed. Tyler Shough was at Oregon, then Texas Tech, then Louisville. Now he's projected to be in the Top 5 of QB's in the coming NFL Draft. It's working out For Oregon this year, with Moore, a quazi transfer, Novosad might transfer out, but there is a good batch of QB's lined up to be a QB at Oregon. It looks like Lanning has managed to keep getting commits to Oregon, while also being open to a transfer as well or better than any other coach. Osu2 won the Natty last year with a transfer QB.
  8. Yeah, a lot of shuffling and OBD got a bad hand. No.1 Texas lost 2 of 3 to previous No.5 Tennessee. Texas dropped to No.3 Tennessee jumped to No.2. No.3 Texas A & M swept No.6 LSU and jumped to No.1, LSU dropped to No.9. If No.6 Oregon sweeps No.5 UCLA this weekend, they might still be in the Top 10.
  9. I still remember that Pat Sullivan, QB-Auburn won the '71 Heisman, Ahmad finished 7th in the voting. Rashad did go on to have very good NFL career, a lot better than Sullivan's, and an even better run in broadcasting.
  10. You know, if it was just based on numbers, 2017 is definitely superior, Pac-12 Softball was a beast. But numbers had the Seattle Mariners of 2001 poised to be the greatest team ever after a 116-46 regular season, but they didn't even make it to the World Series. Who's to say which team would prevail in a 3 gamer between 2017-2025? That 2017 team was in the middle of a historic run. When Lombardi got to Oregon, in 2018, the team was in shambles, now it's 38-4, The Jane is rockin' again! No way can they be diminished.
  11. I did not realize that this is a better start than any of White's teams had. Incredible.
  12. This is why you play a Spring Game! Maybe Penei Sewell could show up...
  13. The announcers could not stop gushing about the Ducks, and interesting that Oregon and UCLA are tied for first in softball, and UCLA comes to PK for a crucial series this weekend, darn those L's to Michigan and osu2!
  14. Keelon Russell is a quarterback for Duncanville High School123. He was named the 2024 Gatorade High School Football Player of the Year2. Russell is currently committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide34.
  15. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Oregon's 38-4 record is the best in program history.
  16. No. 15 Oregon smashes two grand slams in 12-1 win over Georgetown - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM One day removed from a series win over the Maryland Terrapins, Oregon baseball took the field against Georgetown in a Monday...
  17. Duck WR's from the past: Leland Glass, Bob Newland, Greg Specht. Of Course, Sammi Parker, Keenan Howry, Jaison Williams. Cameron Colvin, unfortunately is most remembered for fumbling out of bounds, in the 2007, 31-24 loss to Cal. But the best play involving a WR from an opponent
  18. No "Star" receiver comes to mind, and right on, Meg! If Dakorien can fit into the mold of Jamar, Justin, they were 1 & 2 on the LSU team with Burrow at QB, jeez what a team! I remember when USC came in, and it was Barkley to Marqise Lee, though it was No.2, Robert Woods, who's still playing in the NFL, and back a while, it was UCLA's Cade McNown to Danny Farner that was TROUBLE. It would be incredible if the Ducks finally had a QB-WR connection that could not be stopped!
  19. Back in the good ole days, we had Todd Marinovich's dad, then more recently, LaVar Ball & his sons and basketball. But this leaves those in the dust.
  20. ASU without Skattebo!?I don't know. No Jeanty at Boise State?
  21. All true, and in the course of things..if Mario and his prevent offense hadn't shown up, and then left, Lanning might not have ever even been in the picture at Oregon, now, everything is working out just right.
  22. There will be a shift in the polls, No.1 Texas lost its 2nd in a row to No.5 Tennessee, this time 4-1.
  23. No. 4 Oregon softball clinches sweep with 5-4 win over Minnesota - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM The cities change, the details vary. The constant is the result this season for No. 4 Oregon (38-4, 12-1 Big Ten) thus far in...
  24. Hey Nico. go to Washington.
