  1. The good thing is that if Nix isn't hurt but either Thompson or Butterfield is the starter against Georgia means they must have had a great summer and fall camp!
  2. Agree completely. The bright lights and hurrahs around USC and Riley are super annoying, but Narduzzi walked into it with the comments, they don't make him, or Pitt look any better. Lanning has played it cool so far, and Addison could end up in Alabama.
  3. First game of the season, against the defending champs; their DC is now the head coach of the Ducks! How could I not want the Ducks win that game more than any game they've played before? So, right now I want the W over Georgia. But as the season moves on the Ducks need to build on that win. I want to take care of the Cougars in the Palouse, and then I want it to be 1990 again when BYU comes into Autzen! After that, I think UCKA will be pretty good next season, so I definitely want a W over them, take care of the annoying other games, and then welcome Utah, who absolutely left a bad taste in our mouths last season...and hope to see them again in the Championship game!
  4. That is good stuff. I agree with his tiers, though not to the point that besides theoretically OSU, WSU or UCLA could win their divisions. Great take on Narduzzi.
  5. Washington isn't confusing, they have a very favorable conference schedule but will still be battling Cal for 4th in the North, Cal won't have the best D in the conference, somebody on Talkin' Ducks said that would be the Ducks. I pick AZ to finish above ASU, who might not even finish the season. The 2022 Utes will be the best since 2008? That could be an overreaction, but not compared to USC being in the Playoffs. Though, would that be a bigger surprise than was Michigan last season?
  6. A good question? First things first getting the W over the defending champ in game 1? But what about last season, it could be a double feature with the Utes again? Oregon Football: Does a win vs. Georgia or Utah mean more for Ducks? DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Which win would mean more for the Ducks — beating Georgia or Utah? Many would argue the answer is the Bulldogs, but you can...
  7. Right now, the QB situation is looking good. The experienced Nix is in front, secure in his position but mentoring the two younger QB's behind him. Butterfield has been the Third Man but could end up being the one pressing Nix for the starting spot as the season gets closer. Continuity between the QB and the rest of the team is important but so is getting the right guy, see Utah last season. How long do Lanning and Dillingham stick with the starter if the offense isn't going the way they want it to?
  8. I remember Lonnie Shelton well from his playing days, he was big and fast and could shoot, couldn't stand him!
  9. Some things just make sense and having the two best teams play for the conference championship is one of them.
  10. The only difference between USC and Washington and "delusion" is a big one! USC actually is a Winner, a Blue Blood. They've been down. The problem now is that they and Mark Sanchez and Colin Cowherd, feel like they're back on top already. The Trojans have to wait a while before Riley can say this:
  11. I have no ego. We know that about him from his time at Oregon. The article mentions Tannehill and his attitude about mentoring Malik Willis. Remember Aaron Rodgers didn't like it when Green Bay even drafted Jordan Love? Ducks in the NFL: Marcus Mariota willing to mentor in Atlanta DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM “I have no ego.” Former Oregon QB Marcus Mariota is willing to be a mentor for rookie Desmond Ridder in Atlanta this season.
  12. Yes, I think it's better that Oregon plays them in the first game and not the second, where it's said the biggest step up is found. The intangibles are all there for both teams, let's get Georgia before they can work on their tangibles.
  13. Riley at SC has taken the cork off the Hollywooding of College football. Riley says he hasn't taken any players from the portal, Narduzzi and Sooner fans may disagree. the details of his mansion and Cowherd's crooning aren't his fault, but Riley is the Black Hat now. In one of the articles, it said that Klovis came to Pitt because he liked the system, and it would be great if Addison was there to be a part of it. If he doesn't, the inference is that USC is offering more. The article also stated that NIL aside, Addison is looking for the program that would best prepare him for the NFL. It would be a hoot if after all this Addison and Young end up together at Alabama.
  14. Call it the Turf Division and it could work.
  15. It seems like it has been a long time since Oregon had a D schemed against TE's, and as great as DL is on defense, he only defended against Georgia's TE in practice, cue Alan Iverson. If somehow Stetson resembled game manager Hogan from Stanford, that would be great.
  16. Great title, Jon, and I'm with you on hoping that next is the last season with divisions. The North has dominated the South and too many times Oregon and Stanford were the best teams but one of them had to be replaced by the sacrificial lamb from the South. This season we see that somehow UW avoids USC and Utah. If that doesn't call for a change in the schedule mechanics nothing will.
  17. Not bad. Won't be enough, still have them and Cal fighting for fourth in the North.
  18. Her WNBA career has gotten off to a rocky start, primarily due to injuries. Give Sabrina a season to play and she'll have the Liberty competing for the championship.
  19. A lot is seeming to be made of the Utes' destruction of the Ducks in their two games at the end of last season, while as you note, much will be different about both teams this season, not to mention that last season the Ducks beat the team that beat the Utes in the Rose Bowl.
  20. No.6 is Utah, Oregon is No. 14 and rounding out the trifecta is UCLA at No.22. BYU comes in at No.9. Oregon Football: Ducks ranked prominently in USA TODAY top-25 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Dan Lanning and the Ducks are ranked prominently in USA TODAY Sports’ latest top-25. The Trojans, on the other hand…
  21. They definitely make the Cougar-Cougar hit mope challenging for the Ducks, Ward looks like he will keep the QB line at WSU going/ North Oregon WSU Stanford OSU UW Cal Can the Beavs find a RB? Or Stanford?
