Ducks Softball (21-1) Downs No. 8 Florida State 2-0!
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lyndsey Grein deals in No.12 Oregon softball’s 2-0 win over No. 8 Florida State - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM 16 wins. No. 12 Oregon softball has won 16 consecutive times since an extra-innings loss to Arizona State on February 13. The... -
Even with the stacked roster. Miami needed help from the video room and hero ball from Ward, and still missed the ACC Conference championship, let alone the CFP. USC and The U will be in a race for Also Receiving Votes crown.

Making the CFB Playoff With an Inexperienced QB?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Allar is returning at Penn State, but with the weapons at PSU, just Sayin at osu2 and Moore at Oregon look to have a lot more weapons to get the ball to. Down in the SEC, this is the most pressure Alabama has had since before Saban got there. Roll Tide isn't in the Way Too Early Top 5's, maybe not even Top10's, and they're looking for revenge against Oklahoma & Vandy? The rematch between Texas & Georgia? Another in the line of tough games for the Dawgs & the toughest test for the Longhorns. The schedule won't be too much again in 2025, but what will Indiana do with a new QB, and that other team from Indiana will have a new QB too. -
Can Our Beloved Ducks Have A Successful March Madness?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
There is talk now that with a win at Washington, and at least 1 win in the B1G Tournament, the Men could end up a 5, which seems about right. The Altman push has come along again to put them in this spot. I can see a Sweet 16. or a loss in the first game. I don't see anything past the 16. Bamba has turned his game around, and it's no coincidence that the team is winning now. Shelstad & Bittle are a good combo, but the Ducks still don't have a reliable 3rd option. They aren't a good rebounding team, and the defense has picked up, Bittle blocks shots, but opponents can basically score at will in the paint, and hit 3's. We saw the Women lose their first game in the B1G Tournament, and I wouldn't bet on them getting a win in the NCAA' Tournament for No.20. But the step up from last season is impressive. -
Lady Ducks Run Out of Gas at Indy, Indiana 78- Oregon 62

Indiana 40 Oregon 30 at halftime. It could have been worse. 3's are falling for Indiana, 6 -13, but they also have 3 players with 3 fouls. Oregon is 1-1 on 3's and have missed two lay-ups. -
Payton Pritchard Has Career Night Against the Trail Blazers

Sounds about right. The winning streak has been great, the Ducks have looked better each game. But the wins haven't been against teams the Ducks will see in the elite 8, the Final Four Ducks team would mop the floor with this team. The Ducks could win the B1G or lose their first game. The ceiling for "March Madness" is a 5, the floor is probably a 7.

Oregon men’s basketball earns 73-64 senior night victory over Indiana - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM Out of the under-five media timeout, Jackson Shelstad was in an unconventional place: the bench. With 2:39 on the clock, Oregon...

First, during the game, Casey Jacobson mentioned that Indiana coach Mike Woodson was on the Hoosiers team that beat Oregon, with Ronnie Lee, in 1978. Sorry Casey, Ronnie wasn't on that team, he was on the '73 team, but Woodson wasn't. Shelstad with another big time 3, and Bamba has really played well during the 6 game winning streak.

35-32 Ducks at half. It felt like there were a couple of times when the Ducks were a stop away from getting some real separation, but, it didn't happen, and Indiana actually took the lead. The Ducks had a chance at a powerplay, with an injured Hoosier on the floor, but they missed.

This is the same as why Tez was overlooked as an All-American. Those were chosen by stats, the Draft is about the measurables, because he missed basically 4 games, the stats weren't there, and his measurables don't jump out. But the game tape does.

Great Scott! Who Would Hire the Former Pac-12 Commissioner?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Completely agree. The Blazers are in NBA Purgatory, make the Playoffs, lose early, miss the Lottery. They're in a nice run right now, hopefully it doesn't get them in the Playoffs, and maybe they'll get a good pick in a deep draft. Billups has to go, so does Cronin, status quo is a no go for the Blazers. -
The Ducks are 11-2 on Senior Day under Altman, they lost the first one, but won the second, 94-48 over Utah and would win the next 9, until a buzzer beater by USC beat the Ducks, 70-69, in 2022, The Ducks won last season, and this one is as crucial as ever. Oregon is 0-3 against Indiana, first time at Indiana in 1966, then two times in the Far West Classic, in '73 & '78. Indiana, Oregon thriving at the right time - Field Level Media - Professional sports content solutions | FLM FIELDLEVELMEDIA.COM It’s March, and Oregon is playing its best basketball. That’s a statement that can be made pretty much annually under head...

Great Scott! Who Would Hire the Former Pac-12 Commissioner?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Stay away, LPGA. I to have been following the Blazers the last couple of weeks. Last night they beat the 76ers, the game before they blew an 18 point lead and lost to the Cavaliers in OT. They are getting perilously close to the Playoffs, which, yes, is not where they want to be. Even if they don't get the 1st pick, and Flagg, this is a deep draft; whoever they get would add to the team and maybe a chance to actually make some noise in the Playoffs. This should be a good NFL Draft for Duck watching, and, which team will pick Skattebo? -

Before he had to leave to deal with other matters, Albert shared this observation: Angel should not be in the starting line-up, Evans should. In the starting line-up, Angel is the 4th option, behind, Bittle, Shelstad, Barthelemy. Put him in the 2nd line, with Cook, Tracey & Moss, with either Shelstad or Barthelemy, he'd be more active as the 2nd option. -

That is impressive. A great win, 10-27 on 3's, 27 is a lot of attempts, but the Ducks won anyway. If only Dante...Bittle is the MVP, offense, defense, he has grounds to be the B1G POY. Shelstad has been playing his best since the start of the season, Bamba as well. Angel is still the least impactful starter I can remember. 21-8, 10-8 in conference, the L's to Minnesota and Nebraska still sting, but given the balance of the B1G, they aren't bad losses. Michigan squeaked by Rutgers 84-82 yesterday. -

The start was bad, but it didn't take long for the Ducks to get back in, ant take control of the game. I like that it wasn't just a barrage of 3's. Good D, good movement, no foul trouble.
