  1. Looks like Joel came out a little Klatt with this: "What do we see all the time in college football? Teams underperform the week after their most emotional win," Klatt said on his preview podcast. "We saw it with Alabama losing to Vanderbilt after beating Georgia. I think that we see it with Oregon and Purdue." "I'm not suggesting that Purdue is going to win the game, but 27.5 points is too much," Klatt said, speaking of the betting odds." (Oregon) is traveling 2,000 miles, and they have to play them on a Friday night. Friday night road games for the favorite never go well for those teams."
  2. Very rare for an RB in this NFL, and RB's rarely get the big$$$ that other positions do in their 2nd contracts.
  3. I know how that feels, I got my Masters and taught at Boise State for 2 years.
  4. The Heisman has definitely become QB heavy. Between 1972-85. it was RB's Archie Griffin, 2 times in a row included. Tim Brown a WR, won it in 1997. Reggie Bush, Bo Jackson, Rashan Sallam and Derrick Henry have sprinkled in as RB's and Desmond Howard, Davanta Smith were WR winners, before the latest QB storm.
  5. I'll push back here. Any discussion that brings in different points of views, different slants, ideas, and conducted with decorum, is right on time.
  6. Jeanty is having a fantastic year, he was outstanding against Oregon. But that Oregon is not the Oregon, that led by Dillon Gabriel, beat Ohio State, while Boise State and Jeanty were playing Hawaii. Should the rest of the season keep going the way it has, I believe Gabriel will need to have bigger games, be more outstanding, than Jeanty will need to be.
  7. All due respect for Hunter and Jeanty, but I think the Heisman winning player should be on a top 10 team at least.
  8. Weren't the Best coaches in the B1G supposed to be Day & Riley? Instead, the best coaches are Lanning and Curt Cignetti at Indiana.
  9. Yes. If Ohio State had managed the clock better in the final 1:40, kicked the field goal and won, no attention would have been given at all to Oregon's illegal substitution penalty.
  10. From FANSIDED.COM Day later acknowledged that some things needed to change. We gotta find a way to win the game in the fourth quarter," he said. "We gotta take care of the football. We gotta win the rushing yards. We gotta hold them to less explosives than we did. We've got other things that we gotta clean up as well.” All of which is well and good; the Buckeyes do indeed need to work on all of those things and more. But exactly what evidence is there at this point that Day is the man to make that happen? He's in the middle of year six in Columbus, and while the overall record looks gaudy, his track record against elite teams — in other words, Ohio State's peers — is defined by doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result. So, who's insane here, Day. or Ohio State for keeping him?
  11. I agree with this. In a way the game against Purdue, a short week, after a huge, emotional win, is scarier to me than the game in Wisconsin, and I picked the Ducks to win it by 4 touchdowns.
  12. Alabama isn't undefeated, but what if, the Tide -3 loses @Tennessee?
  13. The expression is, "If you love what you're doing, you ain't working" Lanning ain't working. Day is pulling all-nighters. Lanning has 6 alarm clocks go off. Day probably hasn't had a good night's sleep in years. Ther's no joy in winning at Ohio State now. Just rage over losing and never accepting that the other team played better.
  14. I agree with Annie, all of the above., He wanted to stop any and all discussion of him leaving Oregon, ASAP. I don't think it's a stretch at all that he sees Oregon as a great place to be now and it will just get better.
  15. Agree with you here. Wisconsin is 94-13 combined against Purdue & Rutgers, after losing to USC.
  16. To make it more interesting, Wisconsin will be coming off a Bye, Oregon hosts Maryland the week before.
  17. Texas is losing this week, so is Miami. The last time Oregon didn't play on Saturday was fun, this one will be even better.
  18. Regrets, I've had a few But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption I planned each charted course Each careful step along the byway And more, much more than this I did it my way. Dan Lanning does it his way.
  19. In my opinion, that team was the best team in Oregon Sports history.
  20. That's an understatement, two games reach competitive, @ Wisconsin in 3 weeks and home against Nebraska. With this schedule, Iowa has a better chance of getting to the B1G Championship than either Ohio State or Penn State.
  21. Watching "Get Up" on ESPN, Dan Orlovsky just said, "Right now there are two coaches just better than everybody else, Kirby Smart, and Dan Lanning."
  22. Oregon 44- 14 Turnovers 2 Sacks 3 Passing Yards 308
  23. From Clutch Points The Beavers aren't an especially good team, but they are good enough to pick off a road team which is looking ahead to the biggest game on its schedule. We think UNLV is so much better than Oregon State that the look-ahead factor will not matter. Take UNLV.
  24. UCLA is a basketball school, and it will do better there than the football team is doing, but for the last few years, UCLA has been a softball school. We know that part of USC's move to the B1G was to get away from Oregon. But, darn if Oregon didn't show up! Joel Klatt said that USC is a couple of plays from being undefeated. Matt Leinart, is that what you want to hear? But Ohio State isn't happy at all. 0-3 against Michigan, the winningest team of all time, now 0-2 against Oregon? What's going on? The Buckeyes weren't only beat by Oregon, they were beat up by Oregon, in the trenches, and in the air. Oregon averaged 7.8 yards per snap, and at the end their WR got called on his poster move and their QB didn't go down fast enough. New blood, green blood, has taken over the B1G.
  25. Fantastic shot, but not a surprise at all that Sabrina took it and made it.
