QUAAACK! Big 2026 DT Decommits from USC and Flips to Oregon!
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Any player who stays with USC should be committed. -
I thought the reactions about OSU and 'Bama were right on. Alabama got beat by Vandy and struggled to beat SC. We hope that Georgia gets it together against Texas & Clemson is the ACC.

It's actually not surprising that the OSU team and their fans didn't expect how loud Autzen would be. Autzen could fit inside of the 'Shoe, the B1G House, Penn State's, Camp Randall. All huge structures, filled with 90,000-100,000 fans every week. But none of them are as loud as Little Autzen. OSU, UM. Wisky are B1G time programs, used to winning. They simply don't have the fire that fills the hearts and minds of the 60,000 Autzen Inhabitants! It's just not in the OSU fan to destroy his/her throat every week. They're all basically grandparents watching the grandkids play. "Way to go, Jeremiah!!!" "You're doing great, Will"

Jeremiah Smith Interferes at Oregon? Never!
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Except that you're looking back at them right there. No wonder the fans are insufferable. The Ref's didn't go back and look at the strip fumble. But it turned out it didn't matter. -
Need to tell us what he had to say @ 11:00 PM EST

Oregon Ducks Football: Gabriel’s Biggest Strength
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great article, Alex. Gabriel is Joe Montana, no QB was bigger in the biggest games, It started with, "The Catch" and ended up, 4-0 in Super Bowls. The 49ers weren't behind very often, but when they were none of them were worried. I'm sure the Ducks felt that way against Ohio State. Montana got picked off. I'm sure he missed some wide open receivers; Jerry Rice, John Taylor, but when he needed to make the play, he hit the pass. No huddles anymore, but if they did, Gabriel would point out John Candy too. -
I agree, David, and not just because of the differences between DeBoer and Lanning and Oregon and Alabama. Alabama still probably hasn't completely bought in to DeBoer, Saban doesn't lose that game, and with all its success, the level of complacency has to be higher in Alabama than in Oregon. I don't think it will take a lot from Lanning and the coaches to make sure the players have their heads on right. To make sure they understand that a loss to Purdue cancels out the win over Ohio State. Oregon is at the point now to own the B1G and host a Playoff game. It's up to them.

Ohio State thought Oregon was Vanderbilt, and though they made it more of a game than Alabama did, they simply couldn't conceive of losing; and they had chances, including in the final minutes, but couldn't make it happen. That's a lot of discordant thoughts for a Buckeye to sort through.

After their biggest win in regular season history over Ohio State, Oregon faces a different kind of challenge, going on the road to take on Purdue, on Friday. The Ducks open at -28.5 but will need to have put last week behind them. and be aware.

Turns out they were squatters.

No disbelief here. OSU fans are the worst I've ever dealt with online, fortunately I've never met a living one, I have cousins who are Husky fans and that's bad enough. Football does bring out the worst, but they're equally obnoxious in any sport. It's also mostly the fans, but sometimes the players are equally odious. Since 2012, I've had an intense dislike for a basketball player named Aaron Craft. I don't know why exactly, but I'm unable to exterminate him from my memory. To be fair, Kamikaze Kid, Mark Barwig was the most hated of any of the "Kids" and this was way before social media.

Worked for Mariota.

So true. Unlike OSU terms it, it was an Ugly win for the Ducks. Mistakes that would have put an L on the record for a lot of teams but were canceled out by stellar performances from the players and coaches. Perfect for a mid-season game.

Dawgucks?

From Ross Dellenger And there among them, in the madness, a hero trekked across the field: transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel, minutes removed from a 373-yard, three-touchdown performance, a nationally televised prime-time outing that just may usher him into the Heisman Trophy conversation and has put the Ducks squarely in the title hunt. As great as Ashton Jeanty has been, aside from Oregon, Boise State hasn't played anybody, which does make their schedule stronger than the other leading candidate, Cam Ward. Travis Hunter is doing something no other player has done, but it shouldn't get him the Heisman, Gabriel's game against Ohio State was full of Heisman moments, and it's only October.

You know, I'm going to believe, until that happens, that if our pals in Geogia beat Texas, and the Ducks take care of Purdue, 7-0 Oregon will be No.1.

More Reaction to That "Little" Autzen Stadium...
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
So, there is at least some sense in Buckeye nation. They won't be able to hear for a while, but they have a bye next week. -
Of course, what ruined everything first was 2007, Dixon had the Heisman, the Ducks were more obvious picks to win the Natty than Georgia was the last two seasons, then...
-
No. 6 is way too high for Miami Hurricanes I don't care that the Miami Hurricanes were on a bye. This team may be 6-0, but we may have crowned the Canes a bit too premature as the team to beat in the ACC. It may be because we want something shiny, new and exciting to entertain us. The problem with that is I firmly believe Clemson is emerging as the real team to beat in the ACC. They got blown out vs. Georgia, but are now destroying teams. Miami's last two wins came by the narrowest of margins over rival Virginia Tech three weeks ago and very late into the night two weeks ago vs. Cal. The Mario Cristobal of it all concerns me deeply. He will shamelessly rip defeat away from the jaws of victory. I don't know when their first regular-season loss is coming, but it is indeed on the horizon. I would keep a close eye on both Duke and Georgia Tech... If Miami runs the gauntlet, then they deserve to be a top four seed. I just feel they are untested now.
-
And hopefully win that one with the top defensive player in the game.
-
Thanks, I saw they did a while ago, recording it too.

I see Winston's comment as nonsensical. On the other hand, to me, Howard's was a player on the losing team unwilling to give credit to the team that won. Much worse in my book.

Ducks - 2 W's Against Current Top-20 Teams
30Duck replied to Desert Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It's Ohio State's fault that the first, even good, team they played was @ Oregon. OBD's schedule looks like it was structured perfectly. Some things to work on, got tested, and Boise State is better than good. Now, Purdue still isn't good, but will be playing off their best game of the season, when they host OBD next Friday,
