It's Gabriel or Jeanty for the Heisman
We saw Jeanty earlier in the season and I'm fine if we don't see him again. Gabriel has led the Ducks to No.2, with a win over Ohio State. Jeanty is on pace for a record breaking season, and when the regular is done, Boise State's only L will probably be to the Ducks. That's important. If the Ducks want to get to the Playoffs and win the Natty. Gabriel's game against Ohio State will have to be the norm. No slip ups the rest of the way. It's going to take Heisman level play from Gabriel. Oregon Football's Traeshon Holden Issues Apology for Spitting on Ohio State Player
Hey, this is another opportunity to jump on Lincoln Riley. A while back after a USC loss, I can't remember which one. In the post-game presser, a player was asked a question and was about to respond when Riley grabbed mike and told the reporter(s) to ask him the questions, not the players, And never forget Oklahoma State coach. Mike, "I'm A Man" Gundy.

Riled Up? Getting my Buckeye Retorts Ready....
Another slice of fun about this game is that after a loss like that the team wants nothing else but to get back on the field. But, "Not so fast Ohio State!" You have a Bye, so for another two weeks they'll just have to keep thinking about the Oregon game.

Disappointed in National Coverage of Oregon vs. Ohio State
If nothing else, and actually there's a lot of else, this topic has been cathartic. No need to go through the stages of denial, Oregon is the new Big in the B1G, and it's going to take not only time, but a complete overhaul for Oregon's presence to be accepted, much less, appreciated. It was one thing when Oregon was tucked away in the Pac-12. They were just the shiny object, once in a while grabbed some attention, but for the most part weren't relevant. Cowherd and the other commentators know how to talk about the bluebloods, changing the script takes work. I don't think the Refs were conspiring. but like everybody else they know Ohio State. For a long time we've all heard that Ref's are human. They don't want to hear boo's. Maybe Cowherd was right. If the game had been played on a neutral field or in Columbus, the call on Smith isn't made and OSU wins.

Oregon Football's Traeshon Holden Issues Apology for Spitting on Ohio State Player
Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore apologized for his behavior toward the end of the Crimson Tide's 40-35 upset at the hands of Vanderbilt. "I was completely out of line," he said in a statement posted to social media. "I let the emotions of the game get the best of me and put myself before the team. As a two-time captain and a fifth-year player, I understand the standard that we are expected to live up to at Alabama, and I failed to do so by acting in a selfish and unacceptable manner."

Disappointed in National Coverage of Oregon vs. Ohio State
This is perfect in a completely awful way, like if somehow catsup was spilled in your coffee, Klatt will be on Cowherd's show on Wednesday. Today Cowherd's sole take on the game was, "if it had been played on a neutral field, or in Columbus, Ohio State wins."

Disappointed in National Coverage of Oregon vs. Ohio State
It feels like piling on Cowherd is redundant. But so what! He definitely bleeds blue. At least he's up front with it It's killing him that USC is still pathetic. I remember watching him on Portland TV in the 80's. He was okay then. But now? He can only see Oregon beating Ohio State as bad. So what if Alabama has had its last two games, they should still be in the Playoffs. Thank goodness Miami is back. Klatt is disappointing. If he doesn't have an agenda, how can he be disappointed in the OPI on Smith?

You Know, I'm Just a Small-Time Schmuck...
Isn't that what this whole forum has been saying since Saturday? Are we any better? No, we're no The difference I see here is like when penalties offset. even when one is a much bigger violation. Same, but not equal.

Jeremiah Smith Interferes at Oregon? Never!
However, we characterize the overall officiating, that call was HUGE. End of the game, Smith's star move. It was like calling an offensive foul on Michael Jordan in the final seconds.

Now I Officially Hate tOSU..
I thought the reactions about OSU and 'Bama were right on. Alabama got beat by Vandy and struggled to beat SC. We hope that Georgia gets it together against Texas & Clemson is the ACC.

Now I Officially Hate tOSU..
It's actually not surprising that the OSU team and their fans didn't expect how loud Autzen would be. Autzen could fit inside of the 'Shoe, the B1G House, Penn State's, Camp Randall. All huge structures, filled with 90,000-100,000 fans every week. But none of them are as loud as Little Autzen. OSU, UM. Wisky are B1G time programs, used to winning. They simply don't have the fire that fills the hearts and minds of the 60,000 Autzen Inhabitants! It's just not in the OSU fan to destroy his/her throat every week. They're all basically grandparents watching the grandkids play. "Way to go, Jeremiah!!!" "You're doing great, Will"

Are You Kidding Me! ESPN's FPI has Bewildering Reaction to Oregon Ducks' Upset Win Over Ohio State Buckeyes
I'll disagree here, it looks like OBD started a bit low.

Jeremiah Smith Interferes at Oregon? Never!
Except that you're looking back at them right there. No wonder the fans are insufferable. The Ref's didn't go back and look at the strip fumble. But it turned out it didn't matter.

Oregon Ducks Football: Gabriel’s Biggest Strength
Great article, Alex. Gabriel is Joe Montana, no QB was bigger in the biggest games, It started with, "The Catch" and ended up, 4-0 in Super Bowls. The 49ers weren't behind very often, but when they were none of them were worried. I'm sure the Ducks felt that way against Ohio State. Montana got picked off. I'm sure he missed some wide open receivers; Jerry Rice, John Taylor, but when he needed to make the play, he hit the pass. No huddles anymore, but if they did, Gabriel would point out John Candy too.

Oregon Can't do What Alabama Did.
I agree, David, and not just because of the differences between DeBoer and Lanning and Oregon and Alabama. Alabama still probably hasn't completely bought in to DeBoer, Saban doesn't lose that game, and with all its success, the level of complacency has to be higher in Alabama than in Oregon. I don't think it will take a lot from Lanning and the coaches to make sure the players have their heads on right. To make sure they understand that a loss to Purdue cancels out the win over Ohio State. Oregon is at the point now to own the B1G and host a Playoff game. It's up to them.

Oregon Has Room For Improvement?
Ohio State thought Oregon was Vanderbilt, and though they made it more of a game than Alabama did, they simply couldn't conceive of losing; and they had chances, including in the final minutes, but couldn't make it happen. That's a lot of discordant thoughts for a Buckeye to sort through.

Oregon Can't do What Alabama Did.
After their biggest win in regular season history over Ohio State, Oregon faces a different kind of challenge, going on the road to take on Purdue, on Friday. The Ducks open at -28.5 but will need to have put last week behind them. and be aware.

Now I Officially Hate tOSU..
No disbelief here. OSU fans are the worst I've ever dealt with online, fortunately I've never met a living one, I have cousins who are Husky fans and that's bad enough. Football does bring out the worst, but they're equally obnoxious in any sport. It's also mostly the fans, but sometimes the players are equally odious. Since 2012, I've had an intense dislike for a basketball player named Aaron Craft. I don't know why exactly, but I'm unable to exterminate him from my memory. To be fair, Kamikaze Kid, Mark Barwig was the most hated of any of the "Kids" and this was way before social media.

DUCKS Football Rise Above Themselves
So true. Unlike OSU terms it, it was an Ugly win for the Ducks. Mistakes that would have put an L on the record for a lot of teams but were canceled out by stellar performances from the players and coaches. Perfect for a mid-season game.
