The most improbable ending to a football game!

Do You Agree? What IS the Upside to This Offense?
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The OL seems to be coming together. Gabriel is a Can't miss QB, the receivers are as deep as Oregon's ever had. The one thing missing that would truly make this offense the irresistible force that no immovable defense could stop, is breakaway speed in the RB's. They turn the corner, but Zoom, isn't there. 6.7 is great, but toss in a 60, once in a while and this offense would be off the charts. -
I was at that game, in full Duck gear!!!

Depending on how long you've been a fan of the Ducks, you could have a lot of options. Or maybe you're new, maybe not as many, but still a lot to pick from. For me it's easy. Date: Feb,16, 1974, Location Mac Court, (The Pit) Oregon 56 UCLA 51. Bruce Coldren couldn't miss! Wooden always hated playing Oregon, especially at Mac Court, Walton loved it. There wasn't, won't ever be, an experience in sports like The Pit, during the Kamikaze Era. Scoreboard bouncing on its cables overhead, the backboards shaking, decibel level? Who knows, but you couldn't hear the guy next to you. The Ducks lined up on the midcourt line during the pre-game drills. The visiting team was introduced first. none of that alternating like it's done now, then the Ducks were introduced, and the last player was Ronnie Lee.

Really? Could Washington State Make the CFB Playoffs?
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
SEC and the Committee always find a way to jig the system. I'll take Former Sooner player, now Tennessee coach, Josh Huepel and the Vols over Oklahoma and USC to safely cover -5.5 at Michigan. Interesting that the line opened at USC-10.5. -

Ordinarily I don't watch, "Talkin' Beavers", but this week it should be entertaining. -
Buying and Selling After Week 3 of College Football
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Right now, the Hurricanes are bright and shiny, the car the teenager buys without taking it for a test drive. Kentucky lost to Georgia, I watched the game, and it looked like two evenly matched teams who tried desperately to not get a touchdown. Georgia and Alabama have byes this week, before the game on newly named Saban Field. Was the Kentucky game a harbinger of bad Tide-ings for the Bulldogs? -
Georgia Tech, who at the time surprised everybody by beating FSU, Louisville. Maybe, 3-0 Cal, who has played a much tougher schedule,21-14 at Auburn.

The most egregious penalty ever called in a football game, and now "Beaver Nation" can look forward to watching their team get beat by Purdue, who lost 66-7 last week. -
The best game will be on Friday, when Illinois goes to Nebraska to take the Cornhuskers. Have to say. it doesn't look good for Michigan. The B1G storylines for Week 4: USC’s conference debut in the Big House highlights slate SATURDAYTRADITION.COM USC at Michigan is the headliner, but don't sleep on Illinois at Nebraska. Here's what matters most about the B1G's Week 4 slate.

The article has some interesting thoughts about the season so far. Is Georgia in trouble, and how the perception of one team, Oregon, and one team, Miami, are so different. 10 CFB ideas I’m buying or selling after Week 3 WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM Let's breakdown some prevailing college football narratives and see if they match up with what the underlying data is telling us.

There's also some more praise for MIA: Almost no one in the ACC has been good to start the season. Miami is a primary exception, but the Canes haven’t just been good — they’ve been excellent... Miami hasn’t played anyone worthwhile since the Florida game. And doubts about Georgia: Smart certainly has earned the benefit of the doubt, but this was Georgia’s worst offensive performance in years — and I’m leaning toward it being more of a harbinger of things to come than another annual aberration.

You make a good point. But Charles wouldn't have won the prediction contest if Oregon had scored more. -
Oregon Ducks Football: 2024 Identity Found?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Beating the Beavs is more impressive than U's wins over Florida, the Florida A & M Rattlers and David Letterman's alma mater. Ball State, and MIA's schedule doesn't get much tougher. -
Oregon Ducks Football: 2024 Identity Found?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Maybe except for the '85 Bears of the NFL, a team's identity is the quarterback. There were a lot of great players on their teams. but, Marcus, Justin, Bo, were the identities. So was Anthony Brown. He gets more credit, and the best ones take more blame. No doubt the other players have to play great for the team to win, big plays have to come from every player on the field and the coaches on the sideline. a good QB appreciates all the effort his teammates show game after game, but he has to command the huddle, or what passes for one now -
Poor Huskies, and Wowsa: These Did NOT Age Well...

The thought that Oregon State would be competitive, maybe even win, be the best team in the Northwest was an epidemic, like the Kardashians. It didn't make any sense, it wasn't based on anything real, but all over, people were positive. Yesterday, hopefully, the Ducks saved a lot of people from this potentially lethal Orange Virus! From playing in the Natty to losing to the Cougs, the coach should have stayed at Arizona. DeBoer knew it was over at U Dud, now he's at 'Bama where all he has to do is live up to Saban. in that always reasonable, objective SEC. -
The national Talking Heads who picked the Ducks didn't know what to do. Herbie and Desmond picked the Ducks to win the Natty. But after Idaho, were very cautious concerning BSU and Oregon State. Now the Ducks have a Bye, then it's UCLA and Michigan State, the'll feel better when GameDay is at Autzen for Ohio State.

NFL GameDay Discussion, Scores & Updates
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Justin got paid last year, it's all about winning now, and that's all Harbaugh does. Bo, and the Broncos still have a way to go. It was a strange day overall the Cowboys got clobbered by the Saints, the Rams were Beavered by the Cardinals, 41-10, the Bengals almost beat the Chiefs. Almost. -
