  1. This is ridiculous, Oregon was undefeated, unfortunately, it turns out, won the B1G Championship Game, again, unfortunately, but their run for the Natty was stopped abruptly by an osu2, that, it turns out fortunately, didn't go undefeated, and fortunately again, completely missed the B1G Championship Game, and joined the list of 2 loss champions.
  2. I don't think UW hates the Cougars, I think it's the same as with us towards the Beavs, they're the little pests next door, annoying, sometimes extremely annoying, but I don't think it ever reaches the level of hate between UO and UW. Basically, UW doesn't care what WSU does, but the Rose Bowl for Oregon made their year!
  3. I'm with you here, and I think "SOFT" is the word we're looking for. I think they were just as soft early in the season, the shots just went in, the comebacks came because shots went in. Rebounding requires effort, blocking out, jumping. Taking 3's is the easiest thing to do. This team is soft and doesn't have the chemistry that the other Altman teams had that enabled them to turn it around at the end of the season. Bittle, Shelstad, Bamba, none of them have shown the desire, let alone the ability, to take this team on their backs, Bittle and Shelstad have disappeared completely the last two games. Bamba is a shooting guard that can't shoot. His offense is barreling into the basket occasionally, while the other players watch. Defense too is about communication, this team isn't good in defending 3's and just as bad in the paint, time after time not communicating, making switches and allowing lay-up after lay-up. The Bracketology I just saw has Oregon as a 4. A 4 is a really good team, there's still a chance, but it's going to be HARD for this team to end up a 4.
  4. Nobody knew how hard NIL and the transfer portal was going to hit Paul Finebaum, the poor guy has been knocked for a loop. Saban saw what was coming and got out. Finebaum stayed, and along with Herbie, is stuck. The SEC is not elite any longer. "The B1G might have won the last two championships, but top to bottom, we're better!" So, what. Your 11th week Mercer game is going to look really bad from now on. Vandy beat 'Bama, so did Oklahoma. If an SEC team does win the Natty in the next couple years it won't mean the whole conference is fantastic. Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan aren't going anywhere. They'll be right there. Indiana, Washington, USC, Illinois, could all have strong seasons. The SEC Top Heavies carried the conference for a long time. The B1G can do that too.
  5. This is what is so frustrating, exasperating. 16-5 is a good record, 8 Quad1 wins is top level. But this team is so flawed, It could be 19-3, or 11-10, so 16-5 is just about right. The early come from behind wins were fun, it built up a confidence for the players, but that was a mistake. I wouldn't bet on Oregon +20 against Alabama now. The defense can't stop points in the paint or 3's. There's no movement on offense, it's one of them shoots a 3, or it's a shot clock violation, occasionally, Bamba will take it to the basket, which is good because our shooting guard's range is 5 feet and in. Bittle was MIA against Minnesota, Shelstad was MIA against the Bruins last night. Rebounding is effort, blocking out. The Ducks are awful at rebounding. The offense is stagnant. If somehow the shots drop, Oregon will stay in the game, if they aren't, we've seen what happens. Is this team going to do what Altman's teams have done in the past? Their next game is Nebraska, at MKA, who is 1-6 in their last games, The 1 win was over Illinois last night, how about that MKA homecourt advantage?
  6. From down 50-40 to down, 71-44. 21-4 in about 5 minutes.
  7. Had the lead down to 10, then the Ducks go 5:52 with no points, Shelstad still 0 points.
  8. Oregon 3-16 on 3's, Shelstad, 0-2 on 3's, his only shots, 0 points. Oregon 34% shooting overall, 12 rebounds 7 assists. UCLA 39% on 3's, 55% overall, 21 rebounds, 9 assists.
  9. It definitely looks like it wasn't the flu, and though the scheme might need some alterations, bigger, faster, better players will make the most difference. I feel like if the Stop Rate were to be checked for OBD over the years No.32 would probably pretty steady. The D this year certainly had its moments last season, but it was against Wisconsin, and 10 sacks on UW was fun, but that says as much about a weak UW OL, as an overpowering Oregon DL. We didn't have a lockdown corner or a safety that struck fear to opposing receivers or lethal linebackers. Until Oregon gets defensive players good enough to get Oregon into the top half 10 of Stop Rate, and be drafted along with Ohio State and Georgia, the Natty will be a hard get.
  10. It was the first loss for Michigan State at home, so Oregon snapped that streak and MSU's current 5 game winning streak. Oregon is currently on a 4 game winning streak. with an average score of 59-52. Oregon came in dead last in 3 pt, shooting, cooled off a bit, but still finished 6-14, 42.9, while Michigan State who leads in 3 % finished 4-16, 25%. It got scary with Kyei on the bench, but after missing free throws earlier, she hit 3 at the end, hers was a dominating game we haven't seen from a player on either Oregon team this season.
  11. Oregon 35 Michigan State 23 at halftime. Oregon came into the game with the worst 3 point % in the B1G, made 80% , 4-5 in the first half. Last time the MSU trailed at halftime was to Iowa by 5, they came back to win that one by 2.
  12. Oregon starts with a hot first quarter, 21-8.
  13. Widely considered as the birthplace of football America's first official football game was played on November 6, 1869, between Rutgers and Princeton, two college teams in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Rutgers University and its neighbor, New Jersey (later known as Princeton) played that first game of intercollegiate football on a plot of ground where the present-day Rutgers gymnasium now stands. The first game is now considered the birthplace of football. Rutgers won the game, 6-4. "The Birthplace Of College Football" signs are currently displayed around Rutgers football stadium. The National College Athletic Association (NCAA) describes the matchup as the first American football game ever played. The Pro Football Hall Of Fame recognizes it as the first ever game.
  14. Very similar to our enmity toward UW, the link between UM is tangible. Hard to believe that UM is smugger and more arrogant than UW, but it's possible.
  15. There should be more clarity after tonight's game at UCLA. College Basketball Bracketology Experts Disagree on One Top Team College basketball bracketology experts Joe Lunardi and Mike DeCourcy disagreed on one key team in their latest NCAA tournament bracket projections. DeCourcy's "Bracket Forecast" and Lunardi's "Men's Bracketology" were both updated Tuesday, differing on Oregon, who fell inside both analyst's top-five regional seeds. However, Lunardi was higher on the Ducks than DeCourcy, placing them as a No. 4 seed in the west region, matched up against 13th-seeded Middle Tennessee. DeCourcy had Oregon listed as the No. 5 seed in the same region, matched up against 12th-seeded George Mason. In a detailed update posted on X, formerly Twitter, Lunardi listed the Ducks as the No. 14 overall seed, at least three spots ahead of where DeCourcy views Dana Altman's team. Oregon is currently second in the nation with eight "Quad One" wins, trailing only Auburn. The Ducks are 8-2 in such games, while a team like Houston -- listed as a No. 3 seed by both analysts -- is just 2-3.

  16. Should he pursue a change in his base defense now to try and leverage the talent he has to elevate this team to National Championship caliber? Or should he stay the course and wait for his players to develop and emerge in the Lanning defense the way it is meant to be played? Of the two options, I'll take the former, believing a coach is always going to be better maximizing the talent on hand, not forcing them into his scheme. In time, as the talent pool deepens, adjustments, always a key in effective coaching, can be made.
  17. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Ducks visit Michigan State Thursday (3 p.m. PT, Big Ten Network).
  18. Oregon vs. UCLA prediction, pick, college basketball odds CLUTCHPOINTS.COM The Ducks visit the Bruins as we continue our college basketball odds series with an Oregon-UCLA prediction and pick.
  19. Let's hope the Ducks make him really miserable tomorrow, they will be the more rested team.
  20. Okay, wait a minute, the writer didn't forget Oregon, I think it's just a confusing sentence. The "they" isn't referring to Ohio State, it is a collective "they," including Oregon, Michigan, and whoever won the B1G the two years before that, it wasn't osu2.
  21. What is it with writers forgetting about Oregon? "In choosing his team for the Big Ten, Connelly opted for a program that hasn't won the conference championship in nearly a decade. He believes the Penn State Nittany Lions will bounce back from their College Football Playoff semifinal loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and capture the Big Ten title for the first time since 2016. Connelly's strategy for selecting the Big Ten winner is to choose the best team other than Ohio State, as they have won four consecutive Big Ten titles, and he prefers not to bet against a streak."
  22. UCLA and USC did leave, because of TV, TV that the Pac-12 wasn't going to get enough interest, $$ from to exist. Complaining to the UCLA administration now would be the epitome of beating a dead horse; Cronin is the embodiment of "don't shoot the messenger" here, but I didn't see where he was wrong in anything he said.
  23. That is a glaring Omission.
  24. I'd love to hear from a Badger believer. Penn State, come on down! Minnesota, that will sting for a while, but the Golden Gophers played a great game. Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana, I'd love to hear a take on Cig. It is harder to remember all the teams in the B1G, having posts from their fans would make that easier.
