  1. The instant insinuation is that $$$ is responsible for every success Oregon has.
  2. USA Today doesn't have Indiana in their Too Early 25 at all, and they're not too high in the others. Too Early Top 25s Don’t Demonstrate Faith In Indiana Football Repeat In 2025 WWW.SI.COM Despite several key players returning from a historic 2024 season, the “too early” predictions don’t expect Indiana to reach its 2024...
  3. An apt comparison, and I don't think that throwing a go route to Smith with single coverage on 3rd & 11 was necessarily a product of play calling genius. More like flipping the light switch on when it's dark.
  4. Exactly, other teams "pump in noise" to emulate Autzen.
  5. “That was the loudest stadium I've ever played in,” Howard said. “I played at Texas, Oklahoma….No question, Oregon, 65 thousand that was…I don’t know if they were pumping in crowd noise.” I was prepared to give Howard credit, but "pumping in crowd noise" Jeez.
  6. Chip is a "Once a Duck". It was a glorious time, that ended with him leaving to follow his dream and the Ducks reeling, on probation due to his blatant disregard for the foundation of college coaching, recruiting. He underplayed his return to Autzen, Oregon was just a "faceless opponent" during his mediocre run at UCLA. His true feelings for Oregon were revealed in his demeaning slam about the 12 on the field. 46-7 is now simply a statistic.
  7. Well, the prior season's champion didn't beat them. This year's team did, so again, great. Last year, when Michigan beat osu2, and won the championship, that was huge. This season, osu2 lost to Michigan, but went on to win the championship, the craw isn't too bad now.
  8. How did it mean everything? Missing the CCG didn't hurt Ohio State at all, in fact it helped. Knowing they have to be ready should have been made clear to them on Oct.12. Michigan fans believing their win means anything? Yay Michigan, you won "The Game".
  9. I would argue that as well as a team starts. it still wants to peak in Feb-March. That it's improving from a higher floor just means the ceiling should be higher. They have won the 16 games but could be 11-8. I don't know if shooting can just improve. But ball, player movement can, this would help getting improved shot opportunities and be in better position for offensive rebounds. On defense, lately, the opponent, via movement, has been scoring in the paint much too often. in these final games I hope they can get back to the product they were in November.
  10. Ever since "The Catch" against my before Jerry Jones favorite team Dallas Cowboys, I haven't been able to get past my hate for the 49ers. Though Joe Cool , Jerry Rice and Ronnie Lott are on my All Star NFL team. Brock Purdy? Of course he is stained with his Iowa State connection, and Shanahan will always have the Super Bowl collapse, though he was the OC, not the head coach.
  11. It isn't just a feeling. Look at their track record. With Riley, USC is only his 2md job, so not exactly an indictment. But Kiffin? As far as feeling about a coach. I look at Cignetti and I get a completely opposite feeling from him and Lanning.
  12. It hurts to say this, but the delusional, lunatic denizens at Ewe Dub are showing restraint for Fisch, and are actually optimistic about next season, disquieting I know.
  13. It would be great if Day left osu2. and did just as Chip did at Oregon, strongly urge that his OC be hired as the new coach. Other than that, I'm thinking Day is fine. He can't do anything about the "lunatic fringe". On ESPN yesterday there was a serious discussion arguing about what the loss to Michigan means. I was on the side that it meant nothing. Michigan fans can pound their chests all they want, but all they'll do is leave a handprint. With the expanded playoffs losses can happen, not to 6-6 Oklahoma, 24-3, but their importance is greatly reduced. UNC-Duke in basketball is still a great rivalry, but the win-loss is irrelevant to either team getting to the tournament. Ryan Day would have to do better than Urban Meyer did if he went to the NFL. But I think he'll be fine at osu2. As Kelly Graves said during the Ionescu, Satu, Hebard years, "Why would I want a different job?"
  14. This team has a record that is much better than Altman's regular teams, the teams that turn it up in February. This team was at its best at the end of November, when it beat, Texas A & M, San Diego State, Alabama, at a neutral site. It hasn't played as well since. The wins, on the road, at a neutral site continue. Undefeated away from MKA. The depth of the team is also being expressed differently than usual, often 3/5 of the team don't show up. When they do, this team still doesn't shoot well, are constantly being beat on the boards, usually resulting in 2nd chance points for the opponent. Yet. this flawed team is 16-3, and they really should have beaten UCLA. The Illinois loss was a basketball version of the Rose Bowl. Oregon isn't as bad as that game made them appear to be. 12 games left. USC. who Oregon beat, took down Illinois. Ohio State just beat Purdue. Michigan State is the one team that has avoided a misstep.
  15. If Oregon can navigate the '25 season as skillfully as osu2 did, lose a couple of regular season games, maybe manufacture some hysteria, then turn it around and be rewarded with a lower seed. the current format will be okay for another year. In 2026, there is hope that the format will actually reward regular season achievements, might even be over before the middle of January.
  16. A perfect summation of why Oregon should be No.2. The voters either went on precedent of automatically giving No.2 to the loser of the Championship game, or recency bias, and all they saw about Oregon was the Rose Bowl. Both are negligent, and as Vannini opines, the regular season is becoming unimportant.
  17. Hmm, amusing isn't the word I use.
  18. Okay, it was bad enough having to wait for "Moore to Moore" Thunder & Lightning RB's, now Thien-Is the Man, terrorizing receivers in the secondary!!!
  19. He'll be great on the Lions or the Chargers!!!
  20. 21 points for Bamba, 8-14 shooting, 3-9 on 3's, but by far his best game in months, Amger was 7-10, 1-2 on 3's. The Ducks had 8 turnovers in the games first 6 minutes but finished with only 10. This is nice, Oregon finished with 10 offensive rebounds, Washington, 4. Shelstad got the first basket then faded into the background, 0 assists, o turnovers. He returned in the final moments, finishing with 11 points. Key, 4-6, 1-2 on 3's, 11 points. Bittle didn't have a big game offensively, but had 11 rebounds, 4 offensive,
  21. I was told USC had an air to them USC football is Sunset Boulevard the story of the faded movie star clinging to the past, "I'm ready for my close up"
  22. Oregon Ducks Defeat Washington Huskies, Dominate Final Minutes in 82-71 Win WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks hosted the rival Washington Huskies at Matthew Knight Arena on Tuesday night. It was a back and forth...
  23. The road's been Oregon's friend so far. Definitely need both of those to finish in the top 4. Bamba and Angel led the way this time, imagine if the whole team showed up!
  24. How about Oregon 74 Washington 59.
