  1. The SEC dominance is just getting old. It would be one thing if the FPI were one of many, but it isn't. It's the ESPN-SEC biased propaganda machine pumping out "facts" How could a computer really come up with Texas being so much better than it was last season?
  2. Speaking of the Titanic, I don't see Arch Manning shouting, "I'm the king of the world!". Ohio State is an iceberg, and Texas can see it. ASU without Skattebo wins it all? Nah. I didn't like it when Clemson trotted through its ACC schedule to the BCS and I definitely don't want them winning another, and please which is the real "Death Valley?
  3. Lanning has 35 wins, Bellotti is No.1, 116-55, 678%. Lanning is 35-6, 854%. If Lanning goes 14-2 for the next 6 years, he'd be 119-18, 869%, so if he wants to stay until he is the winningest, he will be around a long time.
  4. For the second time in this topic, this is just ridiculous. If his name was anything else he wouldn't be getting this hype, Klubnik, Nussmeir even Allar. But the name Manning gets the attention, and he is at Texas, so, he's No.1
  5. Osu2 interesting is a stretch for me. Osu2 has been the model of "reload, not rebuild" and should they falter this season. as you noted, they really faltered last season but ended up with the Natty anyway, I don't think it will be due to their spending habits.
  6. Okay! Whew is right. I've never liked FSU and anytime 'Bama loses is great. But now I actually want the Tide to Roll over Florida State.
  7. This is where it's headed, and it's all because 50 years ago the NCAA latched onto its "Student-Athlete" model and would not let go. Penalize players for getting jobs, or loans to buy a hamburger. Meanwhile the coaches and schools. conferences, TV networks are making $$$, but they're professionals. Now, because the NCAA has been inert, the players are professionals in every sense of the word. Back in the day players wanted to play for their school. It meant something to them. But then we got the players skipping "meaningless" bowl games to protect their NFL viability. Now players are coming to the school that will give them the best NIL deal. Money is driving the Playoff structure, and the players don't have to wait for the NFL to "show them the money"
  8. Yes Yes The closest to that Species can be found here:
  9. And Okie and Vandy beat up 'Bama, the strength of schedule is what the ESPN computer says it is, nobody is crowing louder than ESECPN about how great the SEC is, that the football product must be dominated by SEC teams. We DESERVE to only play 8 conference games.
  10. The one positive, perhaps with the Portal is that here is hardly anytime where nothing is going on.
  11. Exactly! Perhaps Brown & Taylor would do better sizing 42 regulars and leave football prognosticating to people better suited.
  12. I'll round up to 800 yards for the season and 12 touchdowns, I hope Moore to Moore delivers a lot of deep downfield TD's, but if Sadiq or Bryant or Kasper got a lot of looks in the red zone that would be fine. if Moore to Moore can simulate Howard to Smith from last season the Ducks will be in great shape, but I don't want a Herbert to Mitchell situation.
  13. Michigan and Illinois have similar schedules, Michigan hosts osu2, Illinois is at the 'shoe. Michigan is at USC, the Trojans go to Illinois, neither play OBD.
  14. The SEC wants to have their cupcakes and eat it too. The article suggests, 'fine, 8 conference games' but how about scheduling a team with some meat on the bone, maybe Illinois instead of Eastern Illinois, or at least Kansas? Kentucky is in the SEC, but according to PAWL, they aren't all that. "Very average," Finebaum said. "I'm not saying he can't have a winning season, but I'll just go through it in my head right now: one, two, three, four, five, I think right now 6-6 would be a pretty good season. It wouldn't be a pretty good season if you've had two bad seasons in a row, I'm just thinking I don't see a lot better than 6-6 or at the absolute best 7-5, which is pretty mediocre."
  15. While schools are prohibited from communicating with players who are not in the transfer portal, the NCAA told Yahoo Sports in January that current rules “do not prevent a student-athlete from unenrolling from an institution, enrolling at a new institution and competing immediately.” Lucas’ attorney, Darren Heitner, said in January that Wisconsin violated NCAA rules by not putting Lucas’ name into the transfer portal. Heitner said Lucas decided to enroll at Miami after learning that his father suffered a “serious, life-threatening illness.” The attorney has threatened to file an antitrust lawsuit against Wisconsin. This is crazier than the contact base stealing and obstruction rules in softball & baseball!
  16. Please B1G, stand up. The last thing Sankey, the SEC, ESPN want is what's best for the game. Force their hand, make the SEC follow the rules like the other conferences do.
  17. I will spin it the other way, the long time fan whiffed on the Ducks. USC is recruiting with a blank check, "Hey kid, how much is it gonna take?" That is not a strategy even if the player had to stay with the Trojans. He doesn't of course which has USC living up to the adage, "A fool and his money are soon parted"
  18. “Jordon and I have both a personal & professional relationship,” Emails provide glimpse into how Bill Belichick handled fallout from Jordon Hudson's viral moment in CBS interview SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Belichick said that Hudson was "simply doing her job" when she said that a question about how they met was off-limits.
  19. Charles & Co. need to sneak in some green shirts.
  20. For the Apple Cup the game was played at Lumen Field, home of the Seahawks.
  21. 1. S Dillon Thieneman, 93 overall The Purdue transfer has delivered back-to-back seasons with more than 100 tackles and is expected to be a future NFL first-round draft pick - even at a position that traditionally carries slightly less value than premium spots (quarterback, offensive tackle, edge-rusher, etc.) He did all that at Purdue.
  22. I'd love for OBD break the winning streak, but I'll be fine adding to the losing streak.
