  1. That's a cool, confident thing to say when you know Georgia isn't on your schedule.
  2. Absolutely. The crossing patterns have crossed our secondaries up for years, 12-17 yards time after time, and to mix it up a quick pitch to the RB.
  3. I prefer to defer, unless it was Chip's offense in its prime, then go ahead, score in a minute and half. But for this team, I put the defense on the field first, they get a stop, we get the ball back, and get the ball again at the start of the second half.
  4. I missed The Pick game but for Autzen at its best from pre-game to the end I have to say it was BYU at Oregon, September 29, 1990. The Brand hadn't been established yet, but it was even louder than it was when Lloyd Carr and Michigan couldn't hear a thing on September 23, 2003.
  5. Yeah, but I try to every Saturday So, on this Saturday, I will actually want Mari to beat Jimbo.
  6. Oregon 37 BYU 29 3 turnovers 2 sacks 264 passing yards
  7. Precisely. I want to see Gang Green, actually I want to see the Kamikaze Kids football version. A swagger that tells BYU that they are going to be punished every minute they're on the field. When the BYU QB looks over the defense, I want him to feel the stares back at him. Forget second effort, the Ducks will be showing 3rd and 4th. Want to try a pass over the middle? After the first one none of the receivers will want to try that again. Running game? Fuggetta bout it, After the game Coach Lanning will meet the BYU Coach, extend his hand, "Good game" he'll say and smile.
  8. Like poison ivy, or a dripping faucet, or a migraine, or insomnia
  9. DNC covered the game very well here, what I'm really anxious to see is the D that had me so excited for this season. It certainly wasn't there against Georgia and EWU wasn't a real test. I was envisioning a Gang Green renaissance. If the Ducks can make it feel like 1990 against BYU...
  10. Just thinking and typing, which can be tricky, but Elway & Plunkett, maybe the great Joe Kapp, from Stanford and Cal...and of course Dan Fouts from Oregon are the best QB's the Pac has produced in the NFL of course USC gave us all Sanchez. Herbert is on his way yo being better than all of them!
  11. Considering that their Bandwagon Fanbase had the Trojans in the Playoffs as soon as Riley was hired, No.7 has to feel like an insult.
  12. That's right, I still don't see how the Pups beating up on Kent State and Portland State makes them even with No.11 Michigan State. Regarding UW, we may have to acknowledge just how bad a coach Lake was, and that The Boar could actually make a positive change. I know that it's fortunate that the game against BYU is at Autzen, those 3 HF points will certainly help.
  13. Interesting about a Ducks win propelling them back into the Rankings. I'm surprised about Georgia ascending to No.1 It's supposed to be based on body of work, but I feared that since Alabama "beat" Texas, on the road, it wouldn't be held against them. So, credit to the voters. But not too much with SC being voted No.7 for beating Rice and Stanford.
  14. Horrific play by Texas in the RedZone, especially a missed chip shot FG at the end of the first half and talk about missed tackles! On the last drive, Longhorn has Young lined up perfect for a sack, but he goes in high, Young slips under, avoiding the sack and gains 17 yards. Texas clearly lost this game more than No.1 Alabama? won it.
  15. 10-10 at the half. So far, Georgia looks like the No.1 team to me. Alabama's touchdown was a breakaway 81 yards run in the 1st quarter. Texas scored on a drive started by their starting QB, who left after this hit. Texas missed a FG to end the first half.
  16. The Ducks got beat down last week. The good thing is they now know first hand what their D needs to look like. Georgia's D played exactly like Lupoi said he wanted Oregon's D to look like. Of course, it will take a while, and Oregon doesn't yet have the players to look like Georgia, but if Oregon uses last weekend as a teaching moment, it should be very beneficial.
  17. I was just pondering this last night. Last year's Jacksonville Jaguars were bad, really bad. I don't know for sure if they'd run Georgia off the field, or Alabama a couple of years ago. Are the Jacksonville Jaguars a team of 5 stars that would overwhelm the Bulldogs like they did the Ducks?
  18. After the Georgia game there's nowhere to go but up for Oregon. I don't know if USC would have been beaten 49-3 by Georgia, but laying 66 on Rice doesn't reveal a lot about Riley's team either, nor does UW's handing of Kent State. The guys in Las Vegas didn't get this one right, by a long way, they had the spread coming down. So, hand it to Georgia. I'm hoping that Cooper Kupp ll isn't on EWU this season and the Ducks can let out their frustration on the EWU Eagles.
  19. Which is what Cristobal said his teams would ne. That didn't happen. Agreed on both points here, the agony being, oh what could have been? As innovative and new Chip's, and Bellotti's '07 teams were, Oregon belonged on the field with the bluebloods. Cristobal's teams did get the win at the Horseshoe, but their No.4 ranking was a mirage. Hindsight shows that playing Georgia was a mistake, the outcomes would probably be worse if they played 9 more times. But that doesn't mean that Oregon doesn't belong in the top 12. Watching Utah and Florida play, showed me that Oregon can compete with them. 11 games left on the schedule; the Georgia game was an L from the start. The season starts against EWU.
  20. That pass by Utah was almost as bad as the Russell Wilson ill conceived throw against the Patriots in the Super Bowl. The Utes had moved down the field, had momentum, a chip shot field goal sends the game to OT. Playing not to lose is a bad idea but going for the win isn't always the best idea.
