  1. Saying he builds on what he's shown this season, top 15, could go up or fall out. Mariota, Herbert, Fouts, Thomas, O'Neil, Smith, Ogburn, Dixon, Miller Adams, Masoli, Clemens, Van Brocklin, Berry, Nix.
  2. Absolutely, I want Bo to stay. If he leaves, TT or Butterfield get the start by default.
  3. The USC-Oregon State game was as strange a No.6 against unranked team I've ever seen. My constant thought watching it was that Carroll's Trojans would destroy this bunch Addison was efficient, 1 throw, i touchdown, but didn't seem to live up to the hype...which is pretty much this USC team overall. Four INT's. The Trojans had a part in this, Nolan didn't just throw all of them right to USC defenders, so credit the Trojans D some. But there is a disconnect when a team gets a +4 in TO differential and escapes with a win.
  4. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, great piece of writing, Darren. I'll trade you my Husky loving cousins for your Coug faithful ones straight up, I'll even throw in the hollowed out refrigerator that adorns their front yard. The first quarter failures in the red zone were agonizing as Dilly was proving his insanity trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Agree completely that going for two must only be attempted after some nearly quantum level mechanics indicate that it's imperative to do so. In sports 1 point can be huge. This version of Cougin it will fester in Cougar fans for a long time. .
  5. Four Ints, and the holding penalty too much for the Beavs. So, USC wins with its D, and because the Beavs couldn't tackle Caleb Williams.
  6. I don't know if Colin Cowherd actually watches the games, but if he is, he shouldn't be happy about how this game is going.
  7. Okay, that nails it, 45 against Stanford next week is a must.
  8. I'm not saying that Oregon is Alabama. But todays win is what Alabama has done for years now. For 90% of the game, they are being completely outplayed. But at the end, with big plays, and some help from the other team, it's Scoreboard.
  9. Exactly, can I? I will. Prevent offense!
  10. Incredible. Yes, there were times during this one when I was telling myself it was a game that was closer than it should have been, the Cougs were dominating the game, Oregon had so many really strange play calls, bad tackling, inexcusable penalties. But, Joey Harrington, take a look at Captain Comeback, Bo Nix. The win the Ducks had over the Bruins in 1970 at the Rose Bowl was amazing. But I don't know if it was more unbelievable than the Ducks coming out with this win. This is a win that should absolutely set the season up for the Ducks.
  11. It would be hard for the Beavs to be as bad as they were last year, so they have that going for them.
  12. Root for USC? Gag! I'd rather eat raw pork. Go, Beavs!
  13. This game will be a test, I don't think it would have mattered where Oregon played Georgia, so this will be a real test of what kind of road warriors the Ducks will be, and why it's great to have Nix with his experience at QB. A team knows it's good when it uses the energy from a crowd on the road to energize itself.
  14. The most impressive thing about the Saban Alabama teams is that they have been so good for so long. Clemson was on top for a couple of seconds, but Alabama is in the midst of a dynasty. Until now, Last year's Georgia's defense was historic, and even with half of it playing in the NFL now, it's just as dominant this season. Georgia fans should enjoy this while you can. Your coach is smart. He, like Saban, appears to know how to keep complacency from setting in. The schedule will be tough enough that the Bulldogs will have to be sharp to accomplish what they want. It turned out great last season, Alabama won the first game, but Georgia came back, and won the Natty. Sweet.
  15. The closest, I think even closer than, "Dyer was down" was 2007. Dixon gets through that season, wins the Heisman, the Ducks win the Natty, who knows where Oregon is in the hierarchy of college football now?
  16. This won't be the week that pushes the Ducks up on the sack list, it really shouldn't even be a plan. WSU's offense works against sacks, Coverage is what works against WSU, so hopefully the TO's will be up.
  17. Two things stand out for me, DeBoer is showing what a huge mistake Lake actually was, and I'm really happy about this, WSU can survive and thrive, without Leach! WSU definitely deserves to be ranked, their loss to Oregon this weekend, will be offset a bit when Wisconsin takes down theeOhio State in the 'Shoe.
  18. If a QB doesn't naturally slide instructing him too would probably be counterproductive, he'd become hesitant, his play would suffer, and the chance of injury would increase. Lanning seems to trust that BO won't challenge the LB. He resisted throwing low percentage passes against BYU and made productive runs. If that is the plan, I think Bo's team is headed in the right direction.
  19. I definitely agree that rushing TD's from a QB is not the way to go, exception being Tebow, who succeeded even though it was clear he wasn't a passing threat. On the positive side last week I detected Nix, multiple times pulling back on throwing a risky pass= no pick. I don't want Johnny Football, just running around tossing Hail Mary's or Tebow. Nix is showing mobility, He can pick up some yards, extend possessions. But the RB's are talented and should be the ones carrying the rock.
