  1. SOS is why rankings don't have any validity until at least week 5, USC @ Illinois, Oregon at Penn State, big B1G games. Ohio State @ Washington, could this be interesting? Illinois @ Indiana in week 4.
  2. Looks like a 4-0 start. then it's at Illinois, bye, Michigan at home, then at Notre Dame. bye, at Nebraska, Northwestern. Iowa at home, at Oregon, home for UCLA. Northwestern is the lock after the opening 4. You can recruit to USC, but the Trojans are closer to the Cornhuskers than they are to the Ducks.
  3. "What'd you expect? Oregon." Perfection.
  4. If the Trojans have a tough game in Lincoln, they aren't ready to rumble.
  5. According to this article, USC should be a power, the CFP, whatever format, should be a part of USC's schedule. But that's always been the case, hasn't it? USC valued at $1.4 billion as Trojans tap into Big Ten money and L.A. market | Sporting News
  6. Hey SEC, wassssupp? You've got VCR's, the B1G is streaming.
  7. They probably should have checked this: From Oregonon SI The Oregon Ducks will send tight end Kenyon Sadiq, linebacker Bryce Boettcher and offensive lineman Matayo Uiagalelei to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the three-day event, which spans from July 22-24.
  8. No wonder they're bitter, they are Beavis.
  9. The Fight for the Pop Tart Bowl!
  10. Pretty good separation between No.9 USC and No.10 Washington, 53 points, I'd have the order reversed,
  11. Cal and Stanford are irrelevant as far as football goes, who is the head coach at Stanford now? The coach at Cal is some guy named Wilcox.
  12. Last year, Ohio State was picked No.1, OBD was No.2, Penn State was No.3 and Michigan was No.4
  13. Matayo for now, the rest will be rolling off our collective tongues, or fingers, soon enough. I can spell Thieneman without looking it up now! A payer named Bear! Makhi Hughes, Dakorien Moore, Dante Moore: Moore to Moore! Of course, Sadiq!!!
  14. SUC, U-dub, both have this in common, at least SUC has Heisman winners and Natty's in the past, but both have been in the Duck's shadow for a long time. Unless Saban wants to coach SUC, they're stuck with Riley, Fisch is next at the stepping stone U-Dub job.
  15. A "two years sample" isn't enough, but 3, that would be definitive? What if it's 3, then 4? Gosh PAWL, what happens then?
  16. Finebaum, who has spent months listening to SEC fans vent about the 2024 season on his radio show, insists that the majority of college football followers aren’t ready to write off the conference just yet. But another underwhelming season would leave them truly shaken. “I understand the narrative, but for now I think it’s way premature. A two-year sample is simply not enough,” he said. “[But] if we’re sitting here having a cup of coffee at the national championship game and the SEC isn’t in it, that will be the moment. The angst will come.”
  17. I've never had a "hate" towards Beavis football. The last time i hated Beavis was in the 70's and it was basketball, Lonnie Shelton, Ricky Lee. UCLA, again mainly basketball, though Cade McNown to Danny Farmer was horrific! USC? It is the classic match-up. For a while, with Leinart & Reggie Bush, the Trojans were on top. But then the Ducks started taking players out of USC's neighborhood, DAT personified it. The columnists started writing about it. Leinart, Bush talked about it, and the Ducks keep on winning. USC is a blueblood afterthought now, and Riley< Lanning. Washington? You nailed it.
  18. This is the Greg McElroy that told us he knew a guy who knew a guy that is sure there's a chance that Saban might not be done with coaching. Go with the Over.
  19. This great! I'll never think a loss is "good" for Oregon, though it sure would have been better considering the CFP format last year if OBD and PSU had traded places, but this game is "Must Win" for Penn State, not for Oregon. In another article I saw, the writer said that the game against Oregon was huge for USC, a win for USC would be a "Statement!" That's where Oregon is now.
  20. The game against the Trojans seems to fit the criteria. OBD have beaten the Trojans 7 of the last 10 times they've played, 4 of the last 5. This time the game comes between a tussle with the Golden Gophers on a Friday night, and a trip up North to take on the mangy mutts.
  21. What I've really missed watching was the Duck RB, who turned the corner, saw the green in front of him and it was "Touchdown!" Is Makhi Hughes going to fill the bill?
  22. People with much more expertise than I have with "X's & O's" believe Oregon's defense isn't being coached at a Natty winning level, at this point I can see that. Lanning's next important move could be to address that.
