  1. Stanford has been a tough out for Oregon for two decades. Sometimes Stanford was not an out at all while winning games. Many of us remember upsets and Stanford's comebacks stealing near victory from the Ducks. Will Saturday's game be the game where the Ducks dominate Stanford? Playing at Autzen after dispatching the Cougars in a hard fought comeback in Pullman, I have a sense that the Ducks will come out on fire against the Cardinal. Oregon will win by 17+ points putting on shows on both sides of the ball. I'm looking for a team effort and some big plays.
  2. Your article is a good and useful explanation written for common fans. Thank you, DnC. It seems to me that the defense is improving still with a long way to go. Team leadership and on-field communication must improve, and self-inflicted blows must be reduced. Go Ducks. Go DnC.
  3. 4 INT's against a ranked team will siphon your swagger alright.
  4. Don't nix Nix. Bo is playing this season with confidence and skill. I expect him to improve as his teammates gel. I hope that Thompson and Butters will get snaps when the situation allows the Ducks to build them into ready reserves.
  5. At 1-0 in conference the Ducks are a contender for the league title. This team is a work in progress. It has shown inconsistencies between greatness and poor play. The team has capable, if not great, athletes in most positions. The secondary can leak like a sieve. The 2022 Ducks are exciting, but sometimes frustrating to watch. With a coaching staff of teachers and encouragers anything is possible including the Pac12 championship. Go Ducks.
  6. Can you imagine throwing and running for as many yards as Nix, plus taking the hits and losing? He earned his relieved look today.
  7. Throwing the fade takes a certain type of QB, and a coach who believes the play can be successfully run a high percentage of attempts. The coach must be confident the play will not end in an interception. My guess is that the Ducks are not there yet.
  8. In the past two games the Ducks appear to be gelling as a team. Mistakes decreased, tackling improved, and Bo Nix led the offense with aplomb taking advantage of opportunities. The offensive line is skillfully blocking for runs while it pass blocks effectively giving Bo Nix time to work. The running backs are a handful by taking different styles and looks to the defense. Things have been looking up for Ducks football. Can the Ducks go on the road into a hostile stadium and win against a foe who will be hungry playing with a chip on its shoulder for being overlooked by the national media? Will Oregon build its momentum with dominnance and a win? Or will it arrive in Pullman flat and struggle to get going taking a step backward? The defense faces a productive Cougar offense. Will Oregon's secondary rise up showing improvements or will it be exploited and shredded by the Wazzu passing attack? A step ahead, or a step back on Saturday for Oregon Football?

  10. Oregon vs. Washington State: No. 15 Ducks open as touchdown favorites Oregon vs. Washington State: No. 15 Ducks open as touchdown favorites DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Pullman is a tough place to play. The fact that Oregon is getting nearly a touchdown on the road shows the...

  12. Dorlus and DJ were mentioned above. They played very well, but more than that, they are keys cogs in the defense. We need them healthy and strong for every big game.
  13. The Cougs may feel disrespected and feel motivated to beat Oregon to get the attention of pollsters. The Ducks must play tough and smart on every snap like they did against BYU. Another week to battle Cougars. Can our DB's step up this week? Can the Ducks defenders hurry the passer, deflect balls with hands up, and get more than the one sack (.5 x 2) of the last game?
  14. Bush league and unacceptable. UO should revoke the identified students passes and privileges.
  15. Credit the O-Line for excellent play most of the game. We witnessed new combinations of players, different roles for Tight Ends, and other combinations. The OL has been formerly somewhat disappointing, but showed pomise and dominance against a physical BYU. Additionally, the big boys inside on defense showed up and excelled at times. Both lines did their jobs against BYU. The running backs are running smarter under Locklyn than over the past 3 years. They look where they are running, follow blockers, and find daylight. No more blindly running to the called gap.
  16. Peace in life. Duck havoc on the field. Enjoy Oregon, Eugene, and hopefully the surrounding area. 1:15 hours driving to the coast via Hwy 126. W.
  17. I agree that the experienced OL should be a huge (get it?) asset. Through the two early games I have not seen consistency, dominant play, and have seen costly penalties. I hope you are right and the line can control the trenches.
  18. This year's offense has: - other capable QB's ready to play. - a stable of RB's ready to run. - a bevy of capable receivers. - a mindset to attack open spaces and defensive weaknesses. - lots of yet-to-be-seen upside. Go Ducks.

  20. I don't know what you observed and how you felt while watching Oregon Football taking on the EWU Eagles last night. As much as I appreciated the players, I came away thrilled with the game plan and coaching adjustments this week. Coach Dan Lanning was mic'd up during the game. At every cut-away to him during the game telecast we could hear Lanning coaching and encouraging players with only positive words and tones. How would you perform on the job with a boss like that? This morning I further reflected on Lanning and the coaches. Do we fans support the coaches enough with our faith and encouragement? Could we do more, and how would that effect the future of Ducks football? Yes, coaching the Ducks is a great gig. Prestige, good salaries, top athletes, being part of a great university and Athletic Department, the best facilities, infinitum. Despite all of the "stuff", people value respect and recognition highly within the elements of job satisfaction measures. The coaches and their families have made deep sacrifices for Oregon football. Do we fans embrace and appreciate them, in the way that Dan Lanning values and communicates with his players? It is an easy trap to fall into to quickly and sharply nit pick or criticize calls, decisions and coaching. If we want the Ducks to win championships, and we want the coaches to gel and stay together at Oregon, we should support and praise them restraining our social media jabs, thus allowing them to develop and grow, wanting to be in Eugene with Our Beloved Ducks.
  21. Former four-year Duck and USC transfer, Travis Dye, led the Trojans in rushing in yesterday's win over Stanford. Dye rushed for 105 yards on 14 carries for a 7.5 ypc average, and one touchdown. He also caught one pass for 19 yards. Travis is the gift that keeps on giving.
  22. Pat Narduzzi, the Head Coach at Pitt, was quoted this week by Zach Ragan of AtoZ Sports . Narduzzi said, "I think there are two things that are key to having a championship-level football team -- dominating the trenches and having great Quarterback development. In the article Narduzzi is recognizing Hendon Hooker's improvements under Josh Huepel and quarterback whisperer, Joey Halzle. Will head coaches in a few years make similar observations and compliments about QB development at Oregon?
