  1. How this below could come in the mail to my office...is beyond explanation. In fact I am not sure how to react....should I be insulted or complimented? (They think I'm a coach? Wrong one!) I was unsure if it was safe to open!
  2. Georgia offers almost no NIL compared to most--as they can sell a different package. Oregon's NIL, let's say $200,000 with all the other benefits is something a player can use to focus on school and football, and not have to work part-time. But if a team (like Arizona) offers a million, (of which is the rumor) then for many players/parents....they gotta take that crazy money now. There isn't much left for the Wildcats to spend on other players, and thus Rushing won't have a great team around him...but he's got his. I don't blame them, and I don't blame Oregon. If Oregon matches his million dollar NIL, then you get bankrupted quickly when paying equal amounts to the rest of the Ducks. You are right--we missed a good one, but there will be others in the 2024 class, and I think at least one of the other four Edge-Rushers recruited last year will materialize to help Matayo Ug. next year.
  3. The rumor is that two days before his announcement--he was all-Oregon until Arizona offered a crazy NIL amount. It would explain why his parents were happy at his verbal ceremony, and he was not. Oregon offers an attractive NIL, but not the best. We will get out-bid on certain players.
  4. For the 2023 class and thus far of 2024....Oregon has 28 of the 4/5-Star players on Rivals, and Arizona has 4. Of the 2024 class...Rushing is the only 4/5 Star out of 18 verbals to date. For all the talk about Arizona's coach? Mark Helfrich recruited better...
  5. What are Cal fans doing? (Zero 4/5-Star players two years running, and to think Wilcox could have OUR coach?) Some Oregon fans need to appreciate what we have!
  6. It comes down to this with Rushing; Arizona cannot pay other players like you, thus you will not be surrounded by great talent as you will at Oregon. You will get tripled-teamed as Thibs did here, but now we will other rushers who will take the pressure off you and allow you to have great stats, thus a better NFL contract. Do you want the money now or bigger money later? (And play with a winner)
  7. Yep...Phil loves us....
  8. A quarterback could be named as Pac-12 honorable mention....and come out looking better in the post-season. These QBs are good-good-or-good.... But I'll take mine...
  9. When he is calling our latest verbal "family,"....that certainly bodes well?
  10. There are a few exceptions, but the majority in this community are pretty smart and savvy about Oregon football and the process that goes on. We know that we will get our butts-kicked once in a while, but we have the faith that under Dan Lanning...we will see a lot of winning in the near future. Not every forum has so many with that wisdom, and what we see below makes me count my blessings! As a fan base--we may be surrounded by morons at other sites, but not in our OBD forum!
  11. Kamar Mothudi is a Rivals 4-Star in Los Alamitos, California that Oregon has been locked in a big battle for, primarily with Michigan State for him. He verbals, hopefully, to the Ducks at 4:00 PM! Kamar Mothudi is a Rivals 4-Star in Los Alamitos, California as Oregon has been locked in a big battle primarily with Michigan State for him. Others challenging are Texas, Nebraska and Washington. Originally it was announced that he would give his verbal on Monday, but now that has been changed to Tuesday with a time yet to be determined. He sounds all-Oregon, but we wait on pins-and-needles because of the need at Linebacker and his 6'3' 200 pound size. This is someone who can grow into either inside LB positions, as he is deemed quite versatile. Book 'em Dano!
  12. A sensationalist recap of what everyone knows. No need to read it, and there was really no reason to even post this article. HDuck…read your PM.
  13. What I've learned over the years? Some people cannot control themselves...it is sometimes an OCD issue that does not have a solution. In those cases--I give them plenty of opportunity to change, and when they can't--I have to ban them for the good of the forum and majority. We are not here to be vented upon, and serve as their therapists couch...
  14. Dan Lanning makes us ignore this other nonsense so much easier! We get to real football soon! A BIG first down by Bo Nix! (An appropriate time to run him between the tackles!)
  15. Whew! Oregon needed this as he is a Rivals 4-Star, with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Miami, USC and Washington! Dylan Williams | DuckSportsAuthority N.RIVALS.COM Dylan Williams - 2024 4 Star Inside linebacker for Poly (Long Beach, CA) on Rivals.com
  16. We all know of how well Georgia recruits the four and five-star players, but they have done an incredible job evaluating talent and finding big upside in 3-Star players. The majority of their two and three-star players have later become starters? Whew! Below is a quick article with some astounding facts, and I would like to think that Dan Lanning is on that path as well. What Ladd McConkey NFL draft outlook further shows about Kirby Smart, Georgia - On3 WWW.ON3.COM In addition to consistently landing top recruits, Kirby Smart and his staff continue to do a great job from an evaluation standpoint and finding some diamonds in the rough. In the end...it takes great evaluation, and then player development--regardless of the number of stars.
  17. Hey, I didn’t say I approve or like it, but I am simply sharing what is being discussed.
  18. My Duck-Buddies...you gotta know what the future holds, and Josh Pate is sharing it. All I can say is....wow. "Money is undefeated against morality in sports." "This is inevitable...this is coming....this is going to happen." "The Pac-12 is desperate as they are negotiating their media contract." "The English Premier League has done it...WWE has done it...LIV merging with the PGA...and next it is college football funded by Saudi Arabian money." This is compelling, and the discussion about the Pac-12 starts at 10:45, and then.... ...the Saudis could save Olympic sports when football players are paid?
  19. Not a problem. We will have four starters who played extensively or started in Josh Connerly, Marcus Harper, Jackson Powers-Light, and Steven Jones. Add Ajani Cornelius--the best offensive lineman in the portal, and you have FIVE starters who are proven prior starters or who played almost as much. Oh yeah. Can't forget the Texas transfer, Junior Angilau, who started 30+ games at guard, and the monster guard, Nishad Strother, from Eastern Carolina.
  20. If I was a fan of another team in the conference? What is above would be quite depressing. In particular...if I was a Cougar or Golden Bear fan I'd...
  21. As you know, I am an Oregon Pom-Pom waver, yet I do so based on reasonable rationale and facts. Below are the number of Rivals 4/5-Stars signed for 2023, and verbaled for 2024 by school in the upcoming Pac-10/12 as we will know it. Oregon 27 Stanford 12 Washington 11 Utah 10 Colorado 7 Arizona 4 Arizona St. 3 Oregon St. 1 Wash. St. 0 Cal 0 This is based on just a year and a half of recruiting...and look at the gap Dan Lanning is creating. After four years--the difference in talent will be so enormous that it will put Oregon in a position that USC was at many years ago--when they won the conference routinely and challenged for a 'Natty nearly every year. That is Oregon's future.
  22. It is a long time before signing day in December....
  23. Many of you Greybeards are snickering at the title, because you have read quite a bit about this over the years, but unfortunately--some newbies are unaware. The bottom line is that I get very annoyed with ongoing negative about a topic from the same people. Have you told us your extreme negative perspective once in the last week? We got it. Read that? We got it. You can do that once a week, and it is fine with me; that is still four times a month and over 50 times a year. That is enough. But a few of you are hitting us nearly every day, or even several times a day in different ways. We have a rule about it, and suggest you read Rule No. 31a-d about it because I've banned a ton of people over this rule. Some actually think I wouldn't ban them, even after being told I just did ban someone for two months. I'd rather have no posts, then a seemingly endless stream of negative. Do NOT misinterpret this as No-Negative, as we continue to do “Critical Analysis” of player performance and coaching decisions. That is what we do on a forum, and will continue to...always. Negative on all topics is fine; extreme redundant negative on a topic is not. We have a ton to be happy about...
