  1. To me, this team has the furthest to go, but has an incredible amount of talent. If they get it together--they could give UCLA a run for it, IMHO.
  2. Way to go finding that! For everyone else....at the top of the site is the word, "Repository" and when you click on it is a Drop-Down menu with the depth chart at the top. Right next to "Repository" is "Directions" and thus you can learn how to do the simple stuff with posting.
  3. Well, it was not my reporting. Because FishDuck.com is media credentialed with Oregon Athletics, I receive the press releases by email that can also be found at GoDucks.com. Part of what I want to see here is Oregon Sports news posted because people come here for the news, (there are 77 online at this moment, and most are NOT members, but simply those who wish to read the news and posts) and rather than have to go to a ton of sites--if we can provide it here--it is easier for all. So I copy-and-paste the email press release and go to GoDucks.com and right click on the picture to copy and then paste it into the post. (That works with bringing ANY picture into a post BTW) And then bingo--we get the info! I encourage everyone to bring articles here!
  4. Coach Boles...this is an outstanding article you gave us at a most important time. Thanks so much and I must say that the fellow from Coastal Carolina sounds interesting!
  5. (From Oregon Athletics Press Release) EUGENE, Ore. — A two-week offensive slump ended emphatically for the Oregon men's basketball team Monday, as the Ducks made 12 straight shots at one point in the first half and shot 66 percent for the game in an 87-47 win over Montana in Matthew Knight Arena. After two misses on their opening possession, the Ducks made 12 straight field-goal attempts to open up an early 34-17 lead. An 11-0 run just after halftime made it 60-29 as Oregon shook off a slump that saw them fail to shoot even 40 percent in each of their three losses over the previous two weeks. "It's been a long two weeks," UO coach Dana Altman said. "The guys really struggled through it, and it hasn't been easy on us. So it was good to get some energy, make some shots. The ball movement was much better tonight." How It Happened: The night began ignominiously, with Will Richardson seeing a three-pointer rim out and Eric Williams Jr. missing a second-chance attempt. But Richardson hit a midrange jumper 81 seconds into the game and the Ducks went the next five minutes without an empty possession, a run that included two three-pointers from Richardson as Oregon opened up a 16-10 lead. A turnover ended the string of fruitful possessions but not the Ducks' hot streak. Jacob Young completed consecutive three-point plays for a 22-10 lead, and Richardson and De'Vion Harmon hit back-to-back threes to cap the streak of UO makes at 12. Harmon hit another three just before halftime for a 44-33 lead, and Isaac Johnson scored the last basket of the half to make it 46-24. "We just needed it as a confidence builder," Young said. "We had a bad last week. We just had to bounce back and find ourselves a little bit. We had a bad few games, but I feel like everyone's bought in now and we're going to make a turnaround." It was 49-29 early in the second half when the Ducks got hot again. Young scored in transition to spark an 11-0 run that included a follow dunk by N'Faly Dante, a dunk in transition by Young and another basket by Dante. The latter stages of the game included some encouraging minutes from Nate Bittle, who had five rebounds and two blocked shots in 10 minutes, and from Lök Wur, who made Oregon's last three-point attempt of the game as the Ducks finished 9-of-17 from three on the night. Who Stood Out: Richardson scored 18 points, matching his combined total from Oregon's three losses, to BYU, Saint Mary's and Houston. Harmon added 14 points with two steals, Dante had 11 points with seven rebounds and Young added 10 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists. Williams matched Dante with a team-high seven rebounds and also led the Ducks with four assists. What It Means: Time will tell, but the Ducks sounded postgame like a team ready to turn things around. "I thought we took a step in the right direction," Altman said. "We've still got a long ways to go; we still are not a good basketball team. But it was a step in the right direction." Notable: The Ducks enjoyed their most accurate night shooting the ball since making 70 percent of their field-goal attempts against Boise State on Nov. 9, 2019. The only other night in the Altman era when Oregon shot better than Monday was a 69.4 percent performance against Washington State on Dec. 29, 2011. … Oregon's 40-point margin of victory was the program's largest since a 114-56 win over Alabama State on Nov. 17, 2017. … Young's four steals were one off his career high, and his fifth career game with four or more. … Young's career high of five steals was set when he was playing for Rutgers on Jan. 8, 2020, against Syracuse — and against his future UO teammate Quincy Guerrier. Up Next: The Ducks host UC Riverside in Matthew Knight Arena on Wednesday (7 p.m., Pac-12 Network).
  6. "We plan on building the best roster in the country, and inside that locker room, the best culture in the country," Riley said. "[The Coliseum] is gonna be full. This will be the Mecca of college football."
  7. Yes, but I having some cheese with my whine. What a great first post, to a FANTASTIC posting name! Thanks for joining and for including paragraph/reading spaces every couple of sentences (get the hint everyone?) so it is easier to read. Do post often and WELCOME! Greg Ballard!
  8. And....I got the great news that epic FishDuck photographer Tom Corno will be there as well! Tom is checking a digital shot in the background in the neon green....
  9. Good for them! We also have a former Fresno State coach who actually won the Mountain West twice, so good luck with that...
  10. I really think Oregon will have enough talent to beat them...but it will come down to coaching, and USC now has a dream team of coordinators. Yikes!
  11. Completely agree.....and he is below with Marcus before the Pac-12 Championship in 2014.
  12. My friends, you know how harsh a critic I've been of Mario with the most recent "critical" article just this last Saturday. But was the offense scoring 38, and the way they did it fun for you? I will be honest; it was for me! It does not have to be like the old offense, but if I see a lot of scoring, with explosion plays on the ground and in the air as we did against Oregon State...I have NO problems at all. Do you? This is directed at those like I who have been pretty tough on Cristobal about the offense, but I must say that part of it is...some of the same-type plays are simply working better now because of experience and timing between the offensive linemen and the running backs. But I will say that the variety of plays keeps the defense guessing, is not predictable to us and is much more fun to watch....agree or disagree? In today's analysis I point out that I believe the same rate of pounding the "A" gaps is occurring, but with much greater success due to some changes they've made (in the analysis) and due to the experience factor referred to. People don't mind an "A" gap plunge if we make eight yards or 15 yards; it is when we make two yards over-and-over out of the Pistol that brings about the booing. So...was that satisfactory to YOU on Saturday? (This is about the offense only)
  13. I fear that we are REALLY going to get out-coached by their OC and DC. The last time Washington State beat Oregon was when Alex Grinch was the Cougar DC....
  14. The first touchdown was also between the tackles, but with a new twist in blocking--an analysis in the making in the off-season!

  16. Please see today's analysis article about how that has become quite successful now. And the play selection of perimeter attacks and passing versus Oregon State was superb. The fans were happy watching THAT offense...
  17. It is not surprising, and I suppose most teams would be exuding over-the-top stuff like this. Keep your Barf-Bag handy when reading this, because unfortunately much of what is written is right. Those assistant coaches are killer...whew! 10 Ways Lincoln Riley Changes Everything for USC and the Pac-12 by Matt Zemek of Trojan Wire
  18. Well, he does know how to work with (former) Washington quarterbacks! Great catch deschutesduck, and THANKS for posting this!
  19. Coach Boles is working on an article that will be published tomorrow morning about some great candidates to replace Moorhead--should he actually leave. Stay tuned!
  20. Excellent article and THANKS to 30Duck for posting it!
  21. I am in agreement with his continued improvement in recruiting, but for OSU to recruit as well as the best Oregon has ever done? I am not buying that statement, and we will just cheerfully disagree on that one. But Smith has my respect...
