  1. The safeties looked lost, Hill is still too slow to cover the slot and looked better when he was back and coming up to tackle. Bridges missed a lot of tackles and played too soft of coverage, that being said he didn't seam to be able to press and run with the WR's either. Bridges seems that he would be a lot more natural and safety as quick changes of direction especially on hooks seem to leave him standing still. The DB's seemed flat-footed, Gonzalez was the only one that looked the part.
  2. In last year's Auburn vs Georgia game the WR's dropped 5 catchable passes in the first half alone, including one deflected for an INT. The announcers we're talking about him needing to put some touch on the ball which was true but the ball did hit the players in the hands and should have been caught. This reminds me of the problem Herbert had in his early years with tons of drops passes because his WR's just couldn't handle his arm strength. Herbert could have won a Heisman with this year's WR's.
  3. Who fits the jack roller? Maybe one of the younger guys like Emar'rion Winston or Jaden Navarrette both guys with pass rushing background, edge seting skills but limited coverage skills. Or do you move a guy like Sewell over and let him get after the QB more with Flowe and Bassa in the middle? Sewell is definitely big enough has coverage skills and I'm sure he could set the edge, not sure about his technique as an edge rusher but I'm sure he could figure it out. Plus the NFL payday would be bigger.
  4. I always like the very catchable throw to the RB on the swing pass.
  5. What could have been if he had stayed healthy.
  6. Thanks for the breakdown! As an avid fan that has very little football experience these articles really help me understand what's going on with our defense and offense.
  7. Love his speed and coverage skills, can't wait to see how he developed as a player! Hope he get plenty of playing time, next year he may be the main man.
  8. "In a defense that puts a premium on speed, Bassa, who converted from safety to play seven games at linebacker as a true freshman last season, is one of the fastest Ducks, period. Listed at 6-2, 212, Bassa" Useing him in at Nickel LB hybrid could be an alternative to Hill on run downs. Hope to see him get a good amount of playing time as he has good instincts and great speed with coverage skills.
  9. Watching last years Auburn vs Georgia game and not only will you get to see Lanning's defense but you also get to see Bo in action. Bo was hamstrung by receivers dropping the ball not unlike Herbert and his tenure at Oregon. You can tell Bo starts to get frustrated just like when Herbert got rattled and started trying to do too much because he had no confidence in his WR's. I counted five passes in the first half that hit the receiver in the hands and were dropped and one was tipped and resulted in a interception. Many of these passes were on crucial third downs and one was in the end zone. I realize this is a small sample size but with our current crop of WR's this should be less of a problem.
  10. He's an incoming freshman this year and Justin's Flower's little brother! It would be great to have then line up on the same side of the ball.
  11. To me Anthony Brown is a Taysom Hill kinda guy and should be used accordingly. TS just couldn't handle the pressure when the blitz came and made mistakes that could be corrected but just didn't seam to have the it factor. Ashford seems to have that Vernon Adams, Darren Thomas throw on the run under pressure aspect of the game that has always work well for Oregon. Unless Ty Thompson is looking so good that they do just can't hold him back, Ashford should be the man. He's dynamic and just seams to make it happen ala Vernon Adams.
  12. Here's a link to his sophomore season unfortunately there's no current videos out there that I could find. Your going to need a mouth guard just to watch it. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DGyV4zKVnI4s&ved=2ahUKEwjzq_znjMTuAhUyNX0KHdWdB6QQo7QBMAN6BAgDEAE&usg=AOvVaw1PSt9MpvoumVU2eakyOWRP
  13. After watching his video I felt the same way. He's quick and agile and when he hits you you know it all that and he's only a 200 lb. Just think flowe and flowe on the same side of the ball now that would be awesome.
  14. An incoming freshman that might be good for this position would be Jonathan Flowe. He is quick has a great pass rush and not sure about his coverage skills but weighing 200 pounds he fits the profile.
  15. Jonathan Flowe seams like he would be a good fit at Sam. His pass rush is allot like his brothers and he seams fast enough to cover TEs or drop in to a zone. Add bonus would be having two Flowers on the same side of the ball, good luck with that sports casters.
